First of all thank you for approving my request!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.
I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down. l
I'm not sure I can remember the last time I read a book featuring a fire fighter, let alone a female fire fighter, so its to be a bit of a shame that at the start of the book Thea is hanging up her hose, and agrees to become the social media manager for the county's fire service.
And the man giving her the training is the current social media manager at the library, Simon, who fancied Thea like mad when they were at high school and from their first re-meeting its clear those feelings may still be present.
It starts fairly sweet but then the spice really does ramp up, and I loved the dynamics between Thea and Simon.
There are great fire safety videos being made, which seem to put the pair in some wonderful positions!
This is a really enjoyable story that I romped through.
Thank you to Mills and Boon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Enjoyable, but it didn't hit the mark!
This is the first book I have read by Adele Buck, which also means I haven't read the first book in the First Responder series, though I don't think it was necessary to read them in order and work well as a standalone.
The Anti-Social Wedding Season is a fun read, it's a cute and tender romance. It didn't blow me away I felt it was a little hit-and-miss at times, and I didn't particularly like the (I will say it) obsession over social media. But what it lacked in an in-depth dialogue between the characters it made up for in the ease of reading and the lightness, it's a quick read (even for me who can take a month to finish a book) which I think works better for the story, f longer I think it would have been too long-winded.
The story is a simple one of moving on, second chances and finding your feet again, unfortunately despite the positive and feel-good factor this didn't quite hit the mark for me, but others may disagree, which is fine, just give it a try!
Sweet. Sexy, festive and short. Another great mills and boon. I liked Simon and Thea’s story a lot. The gender roles were definitely turned and the story was good for it.
Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.
Excellent, I just loved this book. It was sexy and tender and cute and all of this at once. Thea and Simon are adorable, they are a bit funny at first and bristly but then won me over with their charm and honesty. This book covers the issues with families and the hurt their choices make as well as the importance of making our own new families. Nothing wrong with getting snowed in and having quality time in bed either.
The Anti-social season is the second book in a series by Adele Buck.
Even though it's July, I still enjoyed this festive romance novel. It was such a cute and fun read. It was easy to follow and had a great cast of characters. I look forward to reading more by the author. I highly recommend it.
❤️ Thank you to Mills and Boon, netgalley and the author, Adele Buck for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
