I love everything about this series; the cast of characters, the story arcs and the brilliant plots. This one was no exception and it felt good to catch up with Lottie et al. As a mother of three grown up daughters, this gave me chills. I had no idea who the culprit was, or why the abductions had taken place. A great, tense and exciting read.

Lots going on and with characters I’ve really grown to know and love over the series. The premise is quite sinister, a young girl has been killed and dumped but this extends into lots of other avenues. The subjects covered are quite brave but sensitively handled, kidnap and incarceration, murder, child neglect and historic teenage pregnancy and the legacies of past secrets. The action is packed and gently drawn out to give a really suspenseful buzz that keeps you turning the pages. I enjoyed the unravelling of the involved characters and the links to past and present and all importantly I didn’t guess whodunnit. One I’d definitely recommend.

Another great read in the Lottie Parker series. Although it can be read as a standalone, it would be beneficial to read the earlier books to become familiar with the backstory of the characters. In this book Lottie and her team are racing against time to track down a murderer. As in previous books, Lottie's personal life adds another dimension to the story. I loved the interplay between the characters and found this to be an engrossing read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is another gripping read from Irish author Patricia Gibney. The Lottie Parker series is one of the best police procedurals in recent years. This story had me rapt from the very first page. There are half a dozen characters who could be the predator who is abducting young women and I kept changing my mind as to who I suspected. I just couldn't put the book down until the thrilling climax. This is one of my favourite series, it has so many great characters. I don't know if it's deliberate on the part of the author but I have noticed Lottie becoming more and more like Rose. If she isn't careful she will lose that lovely man.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

A fast paced, gripping and complicated story in the Lottie Parker series which kept me guessing right to the end. I really like the characterisation and the insight into the personal lives of the team, it adds to the mystery and I keep waiting to find out what is in store for Lottie and Boyd! The story is told from multiple points of view, which works very well and there is plenty of tension which kept me engrossed. Although we are at book 14 in the series, one I would recommend, it is still as fresh as book 1. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Thank you for my copy of this book to read and review.

I have read all of the Lottie Parker books, in order, since book one and I love them. I always recommend them to anyone who likes good, original, interesting detective stories.

Her Last Walk Home, as with all of the previous 13, was easy to get into, kept my attention all the way through and kept me guessing. Patricia Gibney has a great way of making you want to keep reading just one more chapter.

You can definitely read these as standalone but I love the continuation of characters so I would definitely recommend reading them from the start in order.

5 stars! Can't wait for book 15.

I love this series by Patricia Gibney, every book gets better and better. These books can of course be read as stand alone novels but I would recommend starting at book one so that you learn the dynamics between the characters. A real page turner, I was invested in this book from page one, it immediately grabbed my attention. I read this book in one sitting, it was that good. Love the characters and the story line. Highly recommended! A big fat five stars from me.

I love Patricia Gibneys style of writing and this Lottie Parker series is so good. This may be book 14 but I have read and enjoyed every single one and this was no exception. The usual fast paced story with twists and turns and a few red herrings had me gripped from the start. I can’t wait for the next instalment. Although it can be read as a stand alone I recommend reading the series from the beginning to get the back stories. The only thing that is getting a bit wearing now is Lottie sort your life out!!! All in all an excellent series and author.

Having read the rest of the series I might be biased, but I greatly enjoyed this book. I don't think you necessarily need to read them all to enjoy them as separate cases each time. I like how Lottie and the team are like normal people with normal problems (leaking roof, family problems etc) rather than it just being about the case. I did actually guess correctly this time, but maybe that was because I didn't like the character. There were plenty of twists though.

I can’t believe we are up to book 14 in this fabulous series and it was so good to be back with Lottie Parker and the team once more. This was quite a complex mystery with more than the usual twists and turns and certainly kept me on my toes as I grappled with trying hard to guess what exactly was going on. The writing as you would expect was brilliant, the plot very clever and the continuing back story of Lottie and Boyd is always a bonus to read. It took me a while to finish the book and I was sad when I did this series has always been one of my favourites and I’m pleased to say it’s never got stale so long may it continue and many thanks to Patricia Gibney for another brilliant instalment.
My thanks also to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Her Last Walk Home (Detective Lottie Parker Book 14) is an addictive crime and mystery thriller with intense and suspenseful scenes.

Her Last Walk Home is so good. The story is page-turning. It's a good crime and mystery thriller with "wow" revelations of the culprit and how it all tied together at the end.

In the prologue, a girl is picked up by a woman on the road, and something happens to the girl. Then, 1 year later, the story starts and doesn't let up. It's a page-turning read with good red herrings and solid storytelling.

The Boyd character drove me a bit crazy in this installment in his attitude about buying a house, but Lottie loves him!

I did scream out loud at one point as one character left her coat and phone behind at a bar to escape a bad date. While necessary for the story, there is no way I would leave without at least the phone!!

I really enjoy reading these books and getting invested in these characters. It's like catching up with old friends. The writing is solid, the mystery intriguing, and the pacing is heart-pounding. I would recommend this book, this series, and this author.

Book number 14 for DI Lottie Parker and her team

When a young woman’s body turns up, followed by a murdered young man, the body another young woman who has obviously been incarcerated and starved, then a missing woman, you begin to think that Lottie needs a bigger team!

A strong start that was fast paced, an exciting. This author knows how to ramp up the tension!

After a rollercoaster of a beginning I felt the book did taper off a bit in the middle, and there was a lot of angst and backbiting, both in Lottie’s family and amongst her team, with a distinct lack of esprit de corps amongst some officers. Not noticed it so much before. Also, when is Lottie going to get her life sorted? Book 14 and she’s no nearer getting her act together as she was in Book 1. Either get serious with Boyd or don’t, stop wavering. As an aside, what does she do with her not inconsiderable DI salary? Yes, I know there’s the family, but even so!!

A good book with a great start that lost the plot somewhere in the middle, and a very confused ending, and whilst I have loved all the previous stories this one is not my favourite Lottie outing. Nevertheless I will still look forward to the next book.

3.5*

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture

Her Last Walk Home is No 14 in the excellent Detective Lottie Parker series. Although I thoroughly enjoy this series I was not as enamored of this book. Everyone seemed to be at each others throat. Lottie seemed to be more awkward for awkward's sake than usual and initially when I thought Katie was going to be one of the victims I thought 'oh no, please don't go there. It's so clichéd'. The story of the murders seems to meander around the characters like a second thought only to come to a rushed very confusing conclusion in the final few pages. Not my favourite Lottie Parker by a long chalk I'm afraid.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

Detective Lottie Parker Book 14
I do love this series, and I believe you really need to read all the books in the Lottie Parker series.
An interesting storyline, my only negative for this book would be that Lottie needs to sort out her life once and for all! The constant limbo with her relationship with Boyd and her family worries made the middle of the book sag a little, but it pipes back up for a good ending to this investigation.
A solid 4 stars for another novel by the addictive Gibney.

3.5 stars, rounded down
Her Last Walk Home is the 14th in the Lottie Parker series and while it started strong, it didn’t work as well for me as prior books.
This time, the body of a young woman is found in an open lot. She’s been strangled and knifed. Before long, another woman goes missing.
As with all these books, the story is told in an omniscient style with the reader given multiple POVs. Not just Lottie, her crew and family, but also the witnesses, victims and culprits. It’s a complicated, fast paced story with short punch chapters. It’s also a dark, brooding story and a scary reminder about the dangers facing young women. As mentioned, I thought this started strongly. But as the story goes on, it relies on some leaps of faith for the team to figure out who was behind the crimes. And the ending was just a bit too convoluted for my taste. I felt like Gibney was twisting the story in knots to get to that ending. I enjoy this series for the mix of the different team members. But it did seem like everyone was in an ugly mood for most of the story and I missed the camaraderie of old.
Gibney provides a perfect mix of Lottie’s personal to professional life. And the mystery about how her personal life is going to play out is as engrossing as the murders she’s investigating.
I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a stand-alone, even just one or two of the more recent books will help to suss out the team’s relationships.
My thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for my copy of Her Last Walk Home by Patricia Gibney.
I have read and enjoyed this series since it began but for me, it is starting to stall.
The book is more about Lottie and Boyd and the rest of the team than it is about the crimes and to be honest, it dragged me down. I wanted to shake Lottie and tell her to sort her life out once and for all.
