I loved this. I thought Cassie and Nick had great chemistry and the mystery and intrigue really kept my focus while reading. I loved seeing Cassie find true friendship in this new stage of life, something I know will be relatable for so many people of similar ages. I also loved the idea of not needing someone but wanting love, that companionship, someone to support and be supported by, and being deserving of that, that is shown through a number of different characters. It also enforces the idea of home being a person as well as a place, that it can be built through community and a collective history and I loved that. I’m looking forward to more in this series and from these characters.
4.5*
This sits very firmly in the locked it, didn't love it pile. Although I can appreciate the writing and the great setting of the Florida small town, spooky house vibes. It's giving Autumnal spooky but without the Autumn, and more sunshine. I just found that overall the plot was a bit predictable, a bit obvious, and I very much doubt I'll remember much of the plot in a few days. I also found the main characters to lack any real emotional depth or deeper connections to make me really root for them as a couple.
Short and sweet, with a dash of pumpkin spice. If you like cosy romance with a dash of the paranormal, you'll love this.
Firstly, this book was an arc and I am grateful to NetGalley for the chance to read and review. With this in mind it was hard to read due to the crazy amount of spacing and spelling issues and I think the authors F key is broken. I like this it was a cosy paranormal story. The romance was cute and I can’t believe I am going to say this but I don’t think it needed the smutty scene towards the end. The ghosts were funny and infesting and I am glad this is the start of a series of books.
This book was such a delight and so fun all the way through - I really loved the chemistry between Nick and Cassie, their love story was joy to follow and I'd definitely love this series to continue to see how they're getting along. I thoroughly enjoyed the ghosts included in this story, Nick's ghost was entertaining and the perfect wingman, Cassie's ghost was one I was strongly rooting for and I'm so glad everyone got the closure they needed in the end. The small town vibes were so charming and cosy, I loved all of the characters we get to meet (minus one insanely misogynistic ghost) and would love to return to them all in the future.

This book was such a delight!
Nick and Cassie are so adorable together and I really liked the way their love story was written. I also enjoyed the small town and I can't wait to get back to it in the future.
This is a perfect rom com with a touch of spookiness perfect for October and Halloween season! So you must read it!
Spooky Haunted Town, Romance Blossoming…..Welcome to Boneyard Key! This book gave me all the spooky vibes that I was hoping for. If you’re on the hunt for spooky, ghost town but friendly ghosts who criticise baked goods and love the smell of coffee and a mysterious presence that you have to solve with a lovely bit of romance thrown in then this is a great read.
This was a definite easy 4.5 star for me, purely for how much I enjoyed reading this - I finished this book in two sittings and I simply didn’t want to put it down.
A delightful, lighthearted small town romcom with a spooky twist - I could not put this down!
HAUNTED EVER AFTER was the perfect palette cleanser in between the darker reads, while still delivering on the seasonal charm.
I loved this book. A fabulous story about a town that has more than the average amount of ghosts lingering. I so enjoyed hearing their stories and how most of the town were pretty comfortable with their invisible companions. A love story with a difference.

The characters were likeable and the story was interesting and kept me engaged. I really liked the relationship between cassie and Nick. I really enjoyed the small town slow burn romance aspects. I was a little apprehensive reading a spooky story so far from spooky season but this definitely worked. Thank you to NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest opinions.
Who would have thought that ghosts could be at the heart of such a feel-good story? Boneyard Key was such a wonderful setting and one I’d love to return to if the author wants to write any more set here (please I need to know if Sophie and Theo end up together because I would love them to). Having never read from Jen DeLuca before I’m now looking forward to reading her previous releases as well as any future works.
Thank you to netgalley and publisher for early release.
It was a good book. A friend recommended it to me and I'm glad she did.
This book is Jen DeLuca's first book outside of the Ren Fair series, and I think it was a solid follow up! Boneyard Key has the same cosy small-town vibes that I loved in her previous stories with additional ghostly charm. I really enjoyed how the supernatural element was handled here. I've never seen ghosts used in this way, and I thought it was really fun and original.
Where this story lacked for me a bit was the romance. Everything moved really quickly in terms of speed, but there was very little on page development. I felt like I got to know the characters individually, but not together.
Overall, I would recommend this if you want a fun spooky time, but not for the romance.
Thanks to NetGalley, Penguin and Jen DeLuca for the free e-arc. All opinions are my own.
If you’re a fan of Ashley Poston’s ‘romances with a touch of magic’ this one is definitely for you!
A friend of mine is a huge fan of Jen DeLuca’s Well Met series, so when I saw she was doing a romance with a magical twist I had to go for it, and I’m so glad I did.
Haunted Ever After is set in a haunted Floridian town, which was fun, and I really enjoyed the way the ghosts were incorporated, which felt natural rather than over exaggerated.
I enjoyed the main characters’ interactions - almost a grumpy x sunshine dynamic, one might say 👀 - as well as their ghostly friends who helped them work out what was afoot, and got a good giggle out of them communicating with a ghost through fridge magnets - that’s not one I’ve come across before!
Overall, this was a quick, enjoyable read and I would definitely read more of Jen DeLuca’s books in the future.
This book is perfect for fans of Ashley Poston , in particular, The Dead Romantics. The concept is unique and set in a town full of quirks, following an interesting (albeit slightly predictable) mystery that kept me engaged. My favourite part of the book was learning the stories of the ghosts, and reading about their interactions with the main characters. My only criticism would be that I felt a lack of connection with the main character and the love interest, however, I’d still recommend the book if you’re looking for a quick and fun read during the spooky season!
Thank you NetGalley for providing a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Thank you to NetGalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House for the ARC
This was a acute and charming romance. I liked the small town setting and the paranormal aspect. Something refreshing in the vast sea of romances. The couple had a good and healthy relationship and I enjoyed seeing them together. Highly recommend for the spooky season.
I absolutely loved this book. Living in the UK, Florida is my favourite holiday destination so to have references to their and even The Villages which we took a trip to last year filled my heart with joy.
The story follows Cassie who has recently moved from Orlando to Boneyard Key, unaware of its ghostly links. When issues with her laptop not charging and needing to log in for work she takes herself to the local coffee shop Hallowed Grounds (love this name!) where she meets Nick, to say he comes off a grumpy isn’t an understatement.
However as Cassie continues to have charging issues, overhearing one of the locals Sophie describing her house as being the “haunted by the mean Mrs Hawkins” forces her to open up more to Nick who helps her embrace the ghostly town and not be afraid.
Jen has done an incredible job of bringing together this grumpy sunshine, ghostly vibes story. As a coffee drinker too all the references to some of my favourite drinks was another wonderful addition.
I now need to add Cinnamon to my Banana Bread!
Thank you NetGalley, Jen DeLuca and Penguin for providing me with a copy to read, all opinions expressed are my own.
This was my first read from this author, and I loved it!! The perfect grumpy sunshine, small town, haunted house romance.
Cassie moves to a small town and doesn’t realise that the house she has purchased is haunted. She meets Nick who owns the local coffee shop and you follow them while they try and find more about the ghost living in Cassie’s home.
It’s a fun, easy read which you will want to pick up again and again around fall time.
This book got me into the swing of autumn already! I got my cozy sweater and chai latte and this book was the perfect addition! DeLuca gives us an atmospheric romance that blends the coziness of fall with the spookiness of the season to give us the perfect mix of fun and mysterious! This romcom is ideal for the start of the season and I can’t wait to see it grace stores and shelves as the perfect fall read!
A great read. Cassie has moved to Boneyard Key, not knowing the secrets the town and her house hold. Nick has been hurt before by falling for someone who wanted to leave town, so will he give Cassie a chance when he thinks she won't stick around? I liked how it was told from both points of view.
I enjoyed Jen DeLuca's Well Met and was happy to see she'd written a romcom with a supernatural twist. It was fun, cozy book. I enjoyed the romance and I loved Elmer. The setup of the haunted house was cool and I enjoyed the reveal of the ghost being real. I'll definitely be getting this in for the Halloween pile.
I did not enjoy all the 'f's not being in the book which I can only attribute to NetGallery protecting its books but it does take something from the experience.
