FBI Agent Jim McGee is weeks away from retirement when he’s handed one last case: a devastating fire at an isolated lake house that’s killed almost a whole family! Good book!! This book had a bit of a supernatural?! Vibe to it? I’m usually not really into that but I definitely enjoyed reading this one! This book had suspense, murder, mystery, violence, family secrets, a great who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was really interesting and kept me glued to my kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
Wow! Can I say wow again? This book was absolutely amazing. It had a plot unlike anything I have ever read and I read A LOT! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what happens next! This was one of my favorite reads of 2024. The character development was great and the writing was on point. If you are looking for an original book you won’t be able to put down, read this!
Thank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. I can’t wait to read more Greg Dunne’s books.

FBI Agent Jim McGee has one last case before retirement – to try and find out the details of a fire that killed four people in one family. Survivor Kate Marshall knows what happened, or does she?
This one had me hooked from the start, and I read it in one day. It alternates between Kate in the police station and back several years on her history and that of her two sisters and their families. Kate is believable in everything she is telling the FBI agents, but we really don’t know if she is just a good liar. Throw in a little story of reincarnation and it makes for a great thriller!
Gregg Dunnett is a new author for me and this is one I won’t soon forget!
