My thanks to Embla books, Jack Heath and Netgalley.
First off......May Jack Heath live a very long and very productive life in storytelling!
I'll admit that I was indeed very curious about whether I'd even enjoy a Heath book that didn't have my favorite cannibal in it. "Hi, Timothy!"
Turns out that Mr. Heath is just as whackadoo with his other stories too!
So, Jack absolutely owns me!. Yep! I guess he could call me his Montana bitch!
Onto the review! Oh, noo!
Yeah, Lisa Noell don't play that! Let's get real. I've never given a review in my life! i just run off at the mouth. So far so good, yeah? But, just lately? Hell, I'm just trying.to wind this shit down.
I'm finally admitting that I'm too sick and possibly tired to keep up on these book reviews
On the plus side? I haven't been this happy in 15 years.
Terrific storytelling.

I found this story to be so mincing and just crazy like we find in true crime so that kept me reading and wanting to figure out the killer. Some bit were a bit random though the murder story of it was good enough to support the rest.

I thought this book started out a little slow, but what a wild ride it turned into! The different Povs from different timelines were hard to follow at times. However, I was guessing all the way up until the end, and I never did figure out “whodunnit.” Overall a good locked room mystery! 2.5 stars rounded up.

This was interesting for me! At first I was unenthusiastic, so many different characters right off the bat can be hard for me to keep up with, but upon reading I actually had a hard time putting it down. That may have been because I just wanted to see how it ended. I will say, I found it hard to root for any characters given that I didn't feel connected to any of them. I also felt like any of them could have killed/been killed because they were all so clearly unhappy in their relationships. I found the side plot of the main detectives relationship unnecessary and distracting. I also was confused about a past crime with the detective's partner, not sure if that was in a different book but it confused me that that kept being brought up. Overall, not perfect but I did enjoy parts of it, and I was surprised by who was behind everything!

“The wife swap” follows three couples who have been friends since high school who decide to go away on a weekend vacation together and reunite their friendships and rekindle lost passions.

When first going into this book I for some reason expected it to be solely focussed on the couples getaway, however I found a large percentage of the book to actually be focussed on the detective and her personal life as she investigates the events of the weekend that left multiple people dead.

There is back and forth in timelines and switch of POV between all the characters, it can be easy to lose track of who’s who and who is married to who but after a while of reading you become familiar with the who’s and the whats and the where’s of it all.

There is definitely a lot of drama and twists so I know some readers will have an absolute blast with this book. Unfortunately I just didn’t find myself connecting with the characters or becoming rooted with the plot itself. I’ll definitely try another book by the author in the future to get an overall feel for their writing.

Thank you to Embla books and Jack Heath for the EARC!

The Wife Swap by Jack Heath is another excellent and thrilling read from Heath, who pulls together another insane, yet highly clever, mystery that you really cannot put down.
I loved the well fleshed out characters and found them to be entertaining.
They were vivid and actually believable.
The story itself was decent, there was a wonderful atmospheric and suspenseful tone set.
A quick and interesting read that I enjoyed.

Thank You NetGalley and Embla Books for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Thanks to #NetGalley and #EmblaBooks for the book #TheWifeSwap by #JackHeath. Three couples decide to go on a weekend vacation. No kids. During one of their nights drinking they decide to play truth or dare. During the game it gets brought up the idea of switching partners. Game on! But one of the husbands turn up dead and the killer has to be among them. Who would do this? Who survives? Loved this risqué book and all the drama and murder. Never saw it coming!

It was difficult to get into this book but once you got all the characters straight and figured out what was going on it picked up and was a much more enjoyable read. It had all the things I love in a good thriller. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

This book hooked me from the start. I have yet to read a book with this type of plot. Made me think that this happens in real life. The twists throughout held my attention till the final one at the end.

Before reading this book the thought of a few days away in a remote mountain house for a weekend, disconnecting from the world with no internet or cell reception I would have jumped at the chance, after finishing this book it’s a mmmmmm not for me 🫣
It took me a while to get my head wrapped around who was married to who (ended up writing it on a post it note and sticking it to the bottom of my kindle)
I loved Jacks’s writing style, this book is written in multiple POV’s which is my jam. As the book really got juicy the chapters were left on cliff hangers, at points I gasped and had chills!
The story goes from current to past timeline, Kiara the detective investigating the murders even takes her partner Elise to the house for a weekend, partly to try to help Elise relax but also see if she could get any further prospective as to who’s/whys of the murders. Little did she realise Elise would go into full on detective mode herself, let’s just say what she discovers is shocking 😳
Safe to say really enjoyed this book, the murderer was not on my radar at all, I will absolutely be reading more of Jacks work.
Thank you NetGalley, Jack Heath and Embla Books for this ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

Initially, I really struggled to get to grips with this book. The beginning was very slow for me and didn't grip me at all. The time lines from multi person perspectives and timelones were very confusing and at times I felt like I'd missed something I should known about. I'm glad I stuck with it though, the ending kept me guessing!

There was a lot going on in this book. Lots of twists and turns. I wasn’t keen on the way it was written, I am all for seeing things from another person’s perspective but the timeline seemed all over the place for me.
Since reading this I have found out that there is another book which comes before this one. Although this can be read as a standalone book I personally felt I would have benefitted from the back story of certain characters which would explain why they were acting as they did. I am sure others will enjoy this but unfortunately this was not for me.

3⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Embla Books for an advanced copy of The Wife Swap.

This book follows three couples who decide to take a weekend getaway trip together to a secluded house in the mountains. Each couple has their own set of secrets and struggles and it only gets further complicated when these couples decide to swap partners for a night. One by one people start getting murdered and everyone is a suspect and seems to have a motive. Can anyone make it out alive?

This book was difficult to follow in the beginning with so many different characters. I will say that it did get better and more interesting at the end of the book and I have to say I did not see the twist coming.

The premise of this book sounded so interesting, but for me it was entirely too confusing. I just couldn't get into it at all. I tried and tried but it was so difficult to follow that it did not hold my attention. I had to DNF.

This book kept me on my toes, it made me think and be a detective along with the main character! Would love to see more with detective Kiera! I thought I had the ending figured out and then was shocked I was wrong. 10/10 would recommend this book and author!
