Light "Em Up was a really fun read. Annie and Logan - sigh. It was so fun to watch these two.

When you're a Bang there are so many expectations. When Annie proved to not be the next great hockey playing Bang she took up figure skating. She's great. She's "make the Olympics" great. Now unable to skate like she used to, she's found a new passion. Teaching hockey players, who already think they know it all, how to better skate is a challenge she's up for. She's tough enough to go toe to toe with men much larger than herself and I loved that about her. Her confidence is inspiring. One of the hardest players to win over is the one she had a super hot night with at the Olympics, Logan.

Logan really doesn't believe he needs help with his skating even though his position on the team is iffy. He's a vocal disbeliever. When he's finally forced to give skating lessons with Annie a chance, a real chance, he finds she really does know what she's doing and can help. During all of this the flame between them is on simmer and trying hard to raise the heat. It's a bad decision to have a thing with another team employee. But when the attraction is this strong, and their being together is meant to be, well we know what happens.

I'm so impressed with Ms. Jamison's hockey knowledge and it really added to the book (though I must admit I don't know enough to judge!). I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good romance, a sports story or just a fun read.

This entry is a complete stand alone, even though it is set in the midst of two series: one, Kelly Jamieson’s Bears Hockey series and the other, a multi author collaboration following the Bang siblings. I really enjoyed the story of figure skater turned NHL coach Annie Bang falling for her former lover turned enemy turned skating trainee Logan Coates. Their story was sweet and sexy and the hockey parts felt very authentic. I did not enjoy the meddling Mama Bang but fortunately the author minimized her part in the story, more of an intro or set up to the series, than an actual character in this story. 4 stars.

His journey from guarded and tough to open and caring is beautifully written, showing Jamieson’s talent for encouraging her heroes to embrace their emotions.

The chemistry between Annie and Logan is off the charts. Their banter is sharp, and their sexual tension is electrifying. Jamieson writes steamy scenes like no other, and she doesn’t disappoint with this pairing. Their relationship is a perfect balance—Logan’s tough exterior hides a golden retriever heart, and he’s willing to sacrifice for Annie’s happiness, even if it means risking his own.

The Bang family dynamic continues to be a cornerstone of this series, with their protectiveness over Annie adding an extra layer of tension and warmth. Annie’s ability to stand up to her family while being honest about her vulnerabilities makes her even more endearing.

This book is full of memorable moments and quotes—so much so that I found myself highlighting passages throughout. It’s a story that’s not only entertaining but also deeply moving, especially if you have a personal connection to the sports world.

If you’re a fan of family-centric series with a lot of heart, humor, and hockey, Light 'em Up and the entire Bang Brothers series should be at the top of your reading list. Jamieson has outdone herself with this one, and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.

Great book!! Great couple!! Logan & Anne once crossed paths & had a one night hook up they never forgot and now find themselves working together. They try to keep it professional but sparks fly between them & it’s not long till they start seeing each other. We get to catch up with some characters from other Bears books as well. There’s humor, romance, family drama (Logan w/his dad & Anne w/her mom), just all the feels. Maybe Ivan can get a book too. I highly recommend this book!! I voluntarily read for an honest review.

Logan and Annie are smoking together, but he is the last person she should want to be with. He is still interested in her but knows she hates him. Working together makes things even more interesting and complicated.

I enjoyed getting to know these characters better as they got to know one another. They made each other feel seen and heard, but what was the underlying issue they had? When her family found out, what would happen? The conversations about mental health and weakness were phenomenal and I was happy to see them mentioned in the book.

This series is great and even though I can’t wait to see what happens with Tanner, it will be bittersweet. I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Quick read, great plot, excellent characters. I have read quite a few of Kelly Jamieson's books and she never leaves me disaapointed

This book was an excellent addition to the Bang brothers series!

Annie, the only girl in a family of hockey players, was trained in ice skating but her Olympic dreams were crushed due to injury. Setting out to prove she was worthy of being a Bang she gets a job as skating coach with the Bears.

One of her biggest detractors happens to be Logan Coates - the dirty player who put her brother in the hospital due to a late hit. She has never forgiven him and her family despises him. But Logan needs her help (even if won’t admit it) to help further his career.

What’s the worst that can happen when Mama Bang moves in and tries to fix Annie up with her old skating partner, who also happens to be her roommate? Sparks are going to fly - but will Annie and Logan be able to take the heat?

I can’t recall if I have read any of the previous books but I was able to pick this up, no problem, and know what’s going on. It actually makes me want to go back and read the previous books!
I just loved Annie and Logan’s back story and their meet again and their second chance romance. It all came together perfectly. It was so heart-felt that I cried a few times. They’re so sweet, I wanted more.
I’m definitely keeping my eye out for the next book (and last?) book in this series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Annie and Logan) LIGHT ‘EM UP follows the forbidden relationship between Annie Bang and Logan Coates. Annie Bang is the new skating coach for the professional hockey team the New York Bears but Annie never expected to come face to face with Logan Coates, a one-night from six years earlier, and the man who almost destroyed her brother’s career.Working with each member of the team, Annie teaches strength and agility but most of the players become defensive when a figure skater threatens everything they thought they knew including our story line hero. The world building focuses on the proverbial ‘elephant in the room’. Too many injuries ended Annie Bang’s figure skating career, and in an effort to prove herself worthy of being a ‘Bang’ sibling, Annie focused on getting a job in the NHL.

The relationship between Annie and Logan is one of second chances, of a sorts. A one-night stand six years earlier, and their careers going in different directions culminates in a rekindling but potentially forbidden romance. Annie is the team’s skating coach, and Logan is off limits as far as Annie is concerned . Keeping their relationship on the down-low, Annie must come to terms with betraying her entire family, a family she believes had given up on our story line heroine. Logan doesn’t want to be Annie’s dirty little secret, and finds himself struggling with his own issues of low self esteem. The $ex scenes are passionate and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of energetic and charismatic secondary and supporting characters. We are reintroduced to several members of the Bears team and coaching staff, as well as Logan’s parents, and Annie’s brothers, mom and dad.

LIGHT ‘EM UP is a story of secrets, family, friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and emotional; the romance is seductive ; the characters are charismatic and compelling.

Light 'em Up by Kelly Jamieson is the fifth book in the Bang Brothers Hockey Series. This is Annie and Logan’s story.
 
Annie is the youngest sister of the Bang family, and she was a figure skater until she had to retire due to an injury. She grew up in the hockey world with her brothers and as a new career she works as a skating coach with hockey teams. And that was such a cool and unique aspect I’ve never seen in a hockey romance. Annie is a very relatable and real character, and I really liked her.
 
Logan is a hockey player, but his career never has taken off. But this new season he has the opportunity to show his potential and earn his spot on the line. I loved seeing all the interactions with his dog and his fellow teammates and friends and he totally has a heart of gold.
 
Annie and Logan had one night in the past and when Annie joins Logan’s hockey team, they must work together. And that provided such good tension and while Logan acts inappropriately at first, they become friends and so much more. I absolutely love Kelly Jamieson’s hockey romances and this one was no exception, and I appreciated the little cameos of some New York Bears hockey characters.
 
If you like hockey romances, you need to read this one and I can’t wait to read more books from this series. 4,5 stars.

I love Annie. She is smart, driven, determined, brave and so caring and loving. I love that she tries to talk herself out of her attraction to Logan. I love that her mom is just so helpful, ha ha. I love her relationship with her friend Ivan. When she and Logan are in the same area, it is fire. I love their tension and their passion for each other and their careers. I love that Logan, with all his doubts and fear, is so protective of Annie, and that he learns to be brave in his personal life. I love that they each grow individually and as a couple. The writing is easy and logical. I love the tie ins to the brother's stories.

The Bang brothers and their mother Stella have brought me endless joy this summer, but Kelly Jamieson has outdid herself, friends. Do yourself a favor and download this book IMMEDIATELY! Then set aside the day and binge this book with a full cup of coffee and a box of tissues. You will need it.
Annie Bang certainly feels like she has a lot to live up to in the hockey world given her dad is a former NHL’er and she has 5 brothers currently in the NHL. But this girl is making her own way. As a former figure skater Annie has a lot of talent on the ice and while she might not be making big hard hits like her brothers, that doesn’t mean her sport is any less ruthless. As a former figure skater I love how Kelly portrayed the sport, and Annie as an athlete because that is what she is.
Kelly does such an amazing job of encouraging her hero’s to open up and talk about their feelings and emotions. Logan that he lets the world see is not the person he wants to be. He has such a big heart. Talk about character growth, Logan evolved so much and really worked to be the person that he wanted to be, the one he knew inside but never really let on outside. He learned to be vulnerable and ask for help when he needed it.
I devoured this book and really never wanted it to end. There are so many amazing scenes and quotes, I had over 40 highlights in the book so I can’t imagine picking a favorite. Annie and Logan clearly have serious chemistry and are just naturally drawn to one another. Not only is their banter top notch but their sexual chemistry is on FIRE. Kelly can write the heck out of a steamy scene and she did not disappoint with Annie and Logan! This pair really balances each other out so well. Logan might look tough but he is such a golden retriever and wants what is best for Annie and is willing to forgo a broken heart for her. From previous books it is clear that the Bang family is close and are very protective of one another, but especially Annie ... .and maybe a little too far! But in true Annie fashion is not afraid to put her family in their place, and be vulnerable and honest with them!
The figure skating and coaching ties really tied so many aspects of my real life into this book and I think that is what made me love it more. If you love a family series with a lot of hockey this definitely is the series for you! I have loved every.single.moment I have spent with this family and I wish they had 10 kids!

After an injury ended her figure skating career Annie was floundering as she was surrounded by four brothers who all play professional hockey. The opportunity to become the skating coach for the NY Bears might just be what she has been looking for even if it includes the past that she and one of her brothers have with one of the players.

Logan believes that he will never be one of the best players on the team, but he is hoping that he can land a position on the second or third line. He and other members of the team don’t believe that they need a skating coach, and he definitely doesn’t need her due to the history between them.

There are multiple reasons that Logan and Annie should not be together including the fact that they work for the same team and her family’s opinion but there is no denying the feelings between them. They understand each other’s insecurities and they also give each other the strength to live their lives their way.

An unexpected reconnection pours on the angst when the only female Bang sibling meets her match in an NHL player of her own! I am loving this series and family as a whole and Annie's story did not disappoint in bringing the drama. The characters are easy to like and both come into the relationship with their own backstory to unravel. I liked the tension that them having a history added to the mix. I wanted a bit more development to the ending to let us enjoy them and their life together a tad more, but overall I enjoyed their story and look forward to more to come in the series.

I recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a close knit family who loves from afar and only interferes in each others lives in the very best of ways.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt like I was experiencing things directly via some kind of direct connection to the minds and hearts of Annie and Logan. Ms. Jamieson puts it all out there on the page for the reader to see and feel, even when what she's describing is their "inner life" - all the things they are thinking, and debating whether to say. The sexy times were just right - integral to the story and not at all overdone or gratuitous. I also have to admire the great detail about hockey and skating in general - Ms. Jamieson has certainly done all the homework! Logan's dog even has a cool hockey-related name, reminiscent of a number of famous Finnish hockey players. I always enjoy the extra sparkle that a dog brings to a story and to a relationship, and Teemu doesn't disappoint. I can attest that though this the fifth book of a series, it is eminently readable as a stand alone (I haven't read the others yet...). This was an engaging read, one that I'd love to revisit (perhaps as an audiobook, if that ever comes to pass).

This is book five in The Bang Brother’s Hockey series and it is Annie and Logan’s story. Annie and Logan have history because they spent one explosive night together but things happened and it didn’t work out. Annie has Five brothers who are all famous hockey players and she had always felt like she wasn’t good enough but now she hopes that it is her time to shine as a skating coach for The New York Bears but she knows that it will not be easy and she will have to work extra hard to prove herself so imagine her reaction when one of the men is Logan who put one of her brothers in hospital so now her job had just become even harder and more complicated. Logan is a fourth liner professional hockey player in the NHL for The New York Bears and he isn’t happy about having a female figure skater trying to tell them what to do and how to skate which he already knows and sees it as pointless and on top of that Annie hates him so much for something that happened in there past but unfortunately Logan can’t help but still be attracted to this pint size, sassy, strong and beautiful woman which is something that he definitely didn’t need at this time in his career. Logan and Annie still hadn’t forgotten the night that they spent together or the chemistry and connection between them that just seems to get even stronger as time goes on and even though they both try hard to ignore it unfortunately some things really can’t be forgotten which could put both of their careers in jeopardy. Wow this book will certainly take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and you will feel everything as if you are there living through it with them. This book will pull you into the storyline and keep your attention throughout the whole book and you will find yourself turning the pages because you just can’t put it down or stop reading it as it is so addictive. I absolutely loved Annie and Logan and even though they had many ups and downs and there relationship was definitely not plain sailing they made such a perfect couple and deserved a happy ending. I definitely recommend that you read this book and you will not be disappointed.

Annie Bang is more than just a pretty face, she's a fighter that speaks her mind and knows her heart. Logan is more than a heartbreaker, he is a man on mission. Misunderstood is the name of the game. Unpredictable has never felt so irresistible.

I love supporting Canadian authors and Kelly Jamieson is one of my faves - her Bears Hockey series and characters are some I have looked forward to since I picked up the first (Must Love Dogs… and Hockey), and discovered the link to a very important story with a very real local thread in it (the Humboldt junior hockey team bus crash). This thread has been woven through her entire Bears series, including Light ‘em Up and the characters who make a mention of their story and struggles.

I love how she brings light to how important it is for everyone, especially male athletes, to talk about their experiences, struggles and mental health. Thank you!

This storyline is not just about hockey, or about the one night stand between a girl who knows the guy is her brother’s biggest rival, who later becomes his enemy after a major injury sidelined that brother… just to fall into bed with him again a year later when they cross paths again and a big “whoops” happens. It is much more - excellent family dynamics along with that great representation of mental health, and huge family support.

I enjoyed this one a lot, and the way she takes such care in all of the topics means that even those normally opposed to that accidental storyline will probably quite enjoy how it is written. Please don’t bypass this excellent book because of this trope! I’m definitely recommending it to one and all in the romance community. Jamieson is an author not to be missed - this book is a great 4.5-star read. I look forward to going back to the rest of the sibling’s books by the other authors, now!
