Absolutely fantastic book which I really enjoyed. The characters were all believable and many were likeable. I'd love to know more about Jennie’s life going forward.
This is an easy 5 stars.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for my honest and unbiased opinion.
I really enjoyed this! Never sure about collaborations but this one really worked! MJ Arlidge i’ve read lots, the other author none! It was a quick read, interesting storylines and believable characters, with a few twists along the way that had my guessing! Would recommend!
Jennie Whitmore doesn't have many fond memories of her short time at White Cross Academy, aside from Hannah, which is why she immediately regrets agreeing to attend her school reunion. However ever since Hannah disappeared she fins herself unable to pass up an opportunity to see her once more.
Soon a body is found and Jennie, the DI on the case knows instantly it is her friend. Torn between old loyalties and friendship, and her desperate desire to learn the truth, can Jennie find her best friends killer a just who is the person who has been following her the last few days.
I really enjoyed this one kept me guessing lots of wand turns. Would definitely recommend
DI Jennie Whitmore has lived in White Cross all her life. 30 years ago she was hoping to escape to
London with her best friend Hannah, but Hannah left without her, or so Jennie has always thought.
Their old school is about to be demolished and Jennie attends a class reunion hoping against hope that Hannah might be there.
Next morning as the demolition is about to start, the workers find a body. When Jennie gets the call she has a really bad feeling. Her instincts are proved right when the remains turn out to be Hannah.
Now Jennie has to face her worst nightmare. Her best friend was killed, and Jennie needs to find her killer.
The investigation will test all of Jennie’s resilience and make her question all of her memories of her time with Hannah. But will a stalker throw Hannah off her game and allow a killer to go free.
This is a pacey, gripping thriller. Jennie Whitmore is a strong character with a very human, vulnerable side you can relate to.
I really enjoyed this amazing who dun it mystery
I loved Jennie and the ending was so perfect for her
I’m a huge fan of detective books so this was definitely for me
It was fast paced thrilling and intense. Kept me guessing right to the very end!
I was wrong so many times the twists just kept coming
30 years is a long time for someone to be missing with no information to their whereabouts. I couldn’t imagine how hard it must be for the others left behind
Fantastic book
Not usually a fan of police procedurals but I enjoyed this one. A full on mystery whodunnit that moves along at a decent pace whilst delivering shocks, twists and turns. I would recommend this.
Now a police officer, a woman returns to the boarding school she used to attend to discover the remains of a friend who disappeared years ago. Now she must parse through memories of her past to uncover the truth
A skull looks up at Jennie from the trench, but it's not the chalk white bone and grimacing teeth that send her reeling. It's the heart shaped gold pendant, its delicate chain snapped in two. The necklace Hannah never took off. It can't be Hannah. But it is…. Good book!! This book has suspense, murder, mystery, intrigue, a great who done it and a few twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
I found the beginning of the book to be a lot like another book I have read recently. How a friends remains are found at a school while it’s being demolished.
But that’s basically where it changes.
Jennie is the lead investigator trying to find out who murdered her friends and buried the body in the school. She must hide how well she truly knew most of the suspects in school to keep from being pulled off the case.
An easy to follow who did it novel
This one was a pretty much cut and dry thriller with a police procedural mixed in. I enjoyed the thriller portion, but not so much the police procedural.

Awesome.
When Jennie Whitmore arrives at her school reunion, she immediately regrets her decision. Why would she choose to surround herself with people who were never nice to her? Who still aren't, even now she's a police officer? The only person who truly looked out for her all those years ago was charming, beautiful Hannah. Until the day she disappeared. Jennie is ready to finally put White Cross Academy behind her, the old school building demolished the morning after the party. But with the demolition comes a call: a teenage girl's remains have been found on the grounds. The instant drop in Jennie's gut tells her that the remains might be Hannah's, but when she's called in to examine them, the truth becomes undeniable. Hannah didn't run away and abandon Jennie thirty years ago; in fact, she never left White Cross at all. Suddenly, Jennie has a murder to solve. The murder of her best friend. But can she do so before her colleagues discover just how closely connected she is to the victim? Before a mystery stalker makes good on his threats to silence her for good?
This is their best till date. I loved it so much.
Thanks to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for giving me an advance copy.
The Reunion is a chilling murder mystery that reminds me of works by Lucy Foley and BA Paris. I greatly enjoyed it. A five star read.
