I loved the first book but I think I loved this one even more. They were so cute and I just wanted to shake them and make them admit their feelings. They so badly wanted to be together but were afraid of what the other person might say. I need a longer epilogue and hopefully a book about Bex.

I received an arc through netgalley.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this.

Spencer breaks up with Macy just before her closest friend's wedding. She does not want to go alone. Wood promises to be both her pretend boyfriend and her plus one. She didn't realize Wood had been in love with her since they first met, but she ended up going with Spencer. I loved Wood a lot. He was the ideal partner for Macy. He was kind and entertaining to be with. Reading about their path to happiness was quite enjoyable.

This was a good read, I like the characters and the “it’s always been you” vibes. Wade and Macey are super cute together, I love how he takes care of her and wants to know how to help her. Spencer is the worst, Margot and their mother a close second.

Talk about fucking adorable. I have loved Wood since the first book. That man is energetic, full of personality, and an all around fucking sweetheart. As much as I loved Wood's story, the first book is my favorite of the two. I was so excited to see cameos of Livvy and Noah.

This book centers around Wood and Macy. Wood has been not so secretly crushing on Macy for 6 years. Macy, of course, is clueless. After a breakup from her toxic boyfriend Spencer, Macy has to attend her best friends wedding who happens to be Spencer's brother. In order for her to cope going she makes a plan with Wood to fake date for the week.

Wood, I swear is boyfriend goals. I was swooning this whole book because that man feels with his whole heart and loves to care for his loved ones. Poor Macy has basically been neglected her whole life so her self worth isn't the greatest. But, man, can Wood make a girl feel like a queen!

I really connected with Macy and her thought process. The thought of trying to make yourself invisible as to not bother anyone or to not try much because the spotlight is too scary. So to see her finally feel seen by Wood made my heart beat faster. Also, to see her constant struggle with diabetes and the lengths she had to go through to keep it maintained was eye opening.

Spencer was a major dick. Top notch narcissist. Livvy and Bexs parents are also a shit show. I was waiting on baited breath for Spencer to get what was coming to him. Could not stand how he basically thought everything revolved around him. He never deserved Macy!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. Highly recommend you pick up this book....nay, the series!

It was a classic case of "oh-i-need-a-fake-boyfriend-to-a-wedding so can you please be mine?" but it was enjoyable because it was the guy pining over the girl way before, and he is so forward about it, been reading about these kinds of MCs (may it be the FMC or MMC) and I liked that characters these days are not the meek ones. But what topped this one is, the innocence in the FMC when she's asking/re-echoing the statements of the MMC, it was endearingly cute. I was so hooked in this, but also came the part where I know it will fall apart, 30mins near the ending of the book, and I was dreading it, that Margot one looks one of a hell of a ride of emotions later on, and I've written this review before I continuing on to read and glad that it did not escalate that much. Not a fan of backsideplay, but I love how he loves her enough to read what she wants, let her discover herself and see to it he remembers what she needs. Love the book, and I know for sure Bex get to be with that guy that showed up on the wedding, I just knew this was a series, so watch me run to the first book! haha <3

Quick Summary: A hot & heavy, fake it till you make it romance

My Review: Make Me Want It Too by Rae Kennedy is book #2 in the Make Me series.

About the Book: For years, Macy has bent over backwards, attempting to accommodate the man she thought she would marry. Unfortunately, he has other ideas. When she is asked to serve in her friend's wedding party, where she is sure to see her ex, she panics. Her long time secret crush steps up, making her a proposal that she cannot refuse.

Question: What happens when a fake relationship and true feelings for your partner in crime turn real?

My Final Say: This novel was certainly entertaining. Essentially, a riches and rags story unfolded. The characters were different than I expected, based on the book's description. I have mixed emotions about the female lead. The male lead was very attentive and incredibly accommodating; I liked him.

Other: Readers who enjoy stories with glow ups, second chances at shooting your shot, very naughty and nice spice, and HEAs will like this book.

I am so glad I came across this book on NetGalley. I hadn’t heard of this author or this series before. And now I’ve read book 2 in the Make Me series I must go back and read book 1 Make me Dream of you.

I really enjoy this friends to lovers, fake dating romance. A bonus was that it’s very spicy at times.

Highly recommend.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

This was such a sweet book with a little bit of spice thrown in. We learn quickly that Macy is quiet and reserved. She is suffering from diabetes type I. She is dating uptight Stephen, who seems unable to care about anyone but himself.

One night, Stephen hurts Macy's feelings so bad that she leaves without having a plan. She ends up on Wood's doorstep. Little does she know that he has been in love with her for years.

Not wanting to show up to her best friend's wedding week alone, knowing Stephen will be there, Wood offers to pretend to be her boyfriend.

Wood shows Macy's how she should have been treated the whole time.

Some of the tropes covered include:
*fake dating
*he falls first
*one bed
*miscommunication

Macy has been dumped two weeks before her best friend’s wedding and as the maid of honour, she now must stand next to her ex-boyfriend, as he is the best man. When Wood offers to be her new fake boyfriend, she can’t believe that anyone will believe such a guy could date her. Wood has been in love with Macy for the past six years and can’t believe that she has accepted his proposition. Now, he has to hope that she will give their relationship a chance.
Wood is a captivating male character who truly cares for Macy; however, her self-esteem has been significantly shattered by her past boyfriend. It was so lovely seeing Macy realise her feelings for Wood as they spend time together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

After reading book 1 of the Make Me series I couldn’t wait to read Wood’s story!! Woods is the ultimate golden retriever of MMCs who we have been rooting for since book 1. When the girl he’s loved for years finds herself about to face her recent ex what else do you do but suggest a fake relationship to show the ex that she’s fine without him. Better even!

Macy is just completely oblivious as to how much Woods loves and wants to care for her. Her last relationship was devoid of any true affection and she was never the priority. On top of that, living with Type 1 diabetes has made her think she has to do everything for herself and can’t rely on anyone else.

I absolutely loved these two together. I loved every time Macy or Woods was able to stick it to her awful ex-boyfriend and his awful family. And I especially loved as Woods helped Macy to come into her own sexuality after realizing how much she had been missing out on with her last relationship. I truly smiled and laughed throughout this entire story and highly recommend this book and series!

thank you to 'Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op' for providing me with this eARC!!

*contains spoilers
this is the second book in the 'make me series' and the first book i've read by rae kennedy and i finished this novel in just over a day!! i can definitely say that it had me hooked especially the first half of the book which was in between a four and five-star read!! the second half however is where the novel lost me.

the finger guns wood constantly used cringed me out and i was SO confused when he kept calling people "sis" and "girl" there's NO EXPLAINATION for why he uses those phrases either. 😭😭 like why are you using the same lingo AS ME?!? 😫🫵🏼 some parts had me smiling like the one-sided beef wood had with spencers glasses it was so hilarious 🤭

most of the story is set with events lasting around a week leading up to jack and bex's wedding. in terms of timeline, i would have liked to see more memories or snippets of wood and macy within the six years they've known each other. for example, we're told how wood's always watched from the sideline but never shown.

i have learnt my lesson. next time i need to read the description of the book ALL THE WAY THROUGH because i did not read the last five sentences to realise how much.. cardio was going to be in the novel 😭 some parts of the novel were very melodramatic like why did bex run away from the alter with her childhood best friend and neighbour SHE HASN'T SEEN IN TEN years like that is insane behaviour 😭🙏🏼

“Promise me that you won’t settle for anything less than being the center of someone’s world. Ever. Because that’s what you deserve.” TELL ME YOU DIDN'T SWOON because i know i did!! and omggg when he has a list of facts about her in his notes like that was super cute!! woods is a sweetheart and throughout he was emotionally and physically present for mace to lean onto. if you ever come across this i would recommend you give it a read

I loved Make Me Dream of You!
Make Me Want it Too is book 2 in the Make Me Series by Rae Kennedy.
This is a sweet contemporary romance featuring Macy & Wood as the main characters.
Macy & Wood both are lovable and relatable characters. Their chemistry is top of the charts, and there are so many swoon worthy moments. A captivating and heartwarming romance.

One thing about me is I’ll be loving a fake dating with a golden retriever man trope.

I loved Wood in the previous book and was so excited when I found out the book was for him and Macy.

The ground work put into the unrequited love in the relationship in the first book set up the pining in this book to be eyes rolling into the back of your head good.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Macy in the last book but I would die for her now.

This book isn’t as smut heavy as other books but the few scenes that we do get are perfection.

I loved the dynamics between these two, the story itself was addictive and I flew through it like usual. I can’t recommend this book or this author enough. If you are thinking of reading this look up the tw as the FMC has diabetes and there is on page testing, injecting etc..

Thank you NetGalley & RAKE publishing for this ARC!
It is truly an honor to read Rae’s last two books early.

We left off in book one with Wood hardcore pining for his friend Macy. He fell HARD for her the moment he saw her at a frat party in college. Unfortunately for him, she connected with his ‘rival’, Spencer. Spencer neglected Macy for six years before she realized she didn’t deserve the emotionally abusive relationship. The only issue now is she has to attend her best friend’s wedding to Spencer’s brother, Jake, at their family estate… as the maid of honor… with no date. Wood sees an opportunity and offers up his fake dating services.

I did not think there would be a way to top Livvy & Noah’s story, but Rae blew it out of the water with this one. Mace doesn’t feel like she is worthy of Wood’s love and feels like a burden to everyone. Wood is such a simp for Mace and she doesn’t even realize it. I swear this man would walk miles in the pouring rain just to get 5 minutes with her.

You get plenty of Noah being ‘Noah’, so don’t worry if you’re missing out on that since finishing book one.

I CANNOT WAIT for Bex’s book. Holy cow her storyline and character arc in this book blew my mind.

I seriously love this cast of characters so insanely much, I don’t know what to do with my life until I get the next one.

4.5/5⭐️
Macy is prejudiced against Wood, thinking that he is an unemployed playboy, who relies on his family’s wealth. The truth is that Wood is gainfully employed and has been secretly pining over her for the past six years, while she was with her ex Spencer.

One day, Wood proposes to be her plus one at the wedding, to make it less awkward for her since Spencer will be there too. From fake dating, he soon becomes her safety net – caring for her when she is unwell, saving her from awkward conversations and anticipating what she needs before she even needs it 😍.

Wood is the ultimate cinnamon roll hero and I can’t help falling for him. I liked how he always ensures that Macy is truly consenting and physically well, without pushing her too far. The menus were like 110/100 points for him!

Macy and Wood are the ultimate fake dating troupe. I absolutely love this couple! A he falls first, golden retriever (you’ll see why I used this reference eventually) boyfriend you can’t help but love. This is definitely one to skip your whole (never ending) TBR list and read first, I didn’t regret it one bit and I doubt anyone else will either! I love Rae Kennedy’s books but this one may have taken 1st place.

Cinnamon roll mmc, he falls first, only one bed and fake dating.

I read this as a standalone since I haven’t read the first book, and it works just as fine to do so! I enjoyed my time reading this book. They are all in the same friend group and are going to Bex’s and Jake’s wedding, which Macy’s ex also will be present. Whom she definitely wants to avoid getting close to. Wood offers to be her fake boyfriend for the wedding, so Spencer will back off.

I liked the main characters, and Wood – being the cinnamon roll hero we all love to read about. Charming, caring type who’s there for Macy whenever she needs him. Decent spice scenes, and a good story. Recommended read from me.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this. All opinions expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. I can actually see this book becoming a movie!

This story follows Wood and Macey who pretend to be a couple for a friends wedding week. And we follow their week with fun activities and learning more about each other. I also really enjoyed the side characters. I believe they all brought the story together.

Make Me Want it Too would be in my opinion a fluffy romance where you can crawl up and read in a few hours 😍

It’s such a rarity that I love a sequel even more than the first book (which was also a 5 star read for me), but BRAVO Rae Kennedy 👏👏 You completely blew my expectations out of the water with this book! It covers such deep topics, all handled with grace. I loved the characters and their personalities so much!

From Macy’s self confidence issues after a 6 year relationship with a guy who never valued her to the anxiety surrounding her diabetes, this girl needed a man who’d boost her up and make her his queen. Enter Wood, who’s been sitting patiently in the friend zone for 6 years pining over her. The way he took care of Macy and was always there when she needed him warmed my heart and at times even brought tears to my eyes. He was so kind and gentle with her. 🥹♥️

I said this in my review of the first book, but it rings true once again - this author has a way of writing spicy scenes that fit perfectly into the storyline. I never once felt cringey or like the sexual aspects were overtaking the story. They enhanced the characters and their connection instead of overshadowing it. That’s a tough feat for many authors to accomplish.

I also loved how Livvy and Noah made appearances in this book, and we got to see more of the evolution of their relationship as well. 🫶

This series is my first from Rae Kennedy, but I look forward to reading more from her collection. She’s no doubt a hidden gem indie author. 💎 I hope there’s more to come!
