This story follows Macy who recently goes through a breakup only to have to see her ex at the upcoming wedding between her best friend and his brother. So in order to get through the event, she brings along Wood as her fake boyfriend, not knowing that Wood has carried a torch for her for years. The lines begin to blur leaving both wondering what’s fake and what’s real.

If acts of service is your love language then this book is for you. Wood was great. He was down bad for Macy from the beginning. I loved how thoughtful he was. Studying up on her illness, making sure she had food she needed, finding her rooms so she could test. And this man clearly knows what he’s doing if you catch my drift 🥵🌶️🌶️🌶️.

I really did want to like Macy but it wasn’t as easy for me. Macy is extremely insecure and the focus on that overshadowed what I’m sure could have been great qualities in her. But because we don’t get to see that in her, I couldn’t help but think “okay but why does Wood like her?” To be clear, her insecurities made sense, considering how her ex treated her, but at a certain point it got to be too much.

Overall this book for me was just okay. Some good parts were there but also there were some pretty frustrating ones.

This was good in the forst 20%. I found it to be very cheesy during the spicy scenes. I really wanted the FMC to be a lot confident. She seemed very immature and insecure. Which made it feel like the MMC treated her like she was a baby. I'm not sure. I found ot hard to believe their connection.

I really enjoyed this friend's to lovers, close proximity romance. It had high steamy scenes with some play which some may find difficult to read. As always a strong, loving male lead who is devoted to the female lead and her needs.

Well, this one wasn't for me. I tried, I pushed myself to finish it, but it just never pulled me in.
