The cover is what pulled me in and also everything great I had heard about Élodie's previous book, From Paris, in Love. I was expecting something cozy and warm like autumn with a dose of spice, and I was not disappointed. I absolutely completely fell in love with Oliver. This man can do no wrong. The way Charlee and Oliver connected first through letters and then later in person was intriguing. I loved the dual POV and dual timeline. If you love second chance romance where they go from pen pals to almost lovers to strangers, you will want to check this one out. This book made me want to quit my job, move to a small town in BC, and take up hiking and camping (which, if you know me, means a lot). I'm so excited to read the other books in the series!

After being pen-pals and falling in love with each other via their letters for the last year, fate eventually intervenes, and Charlee and Oliver unexpectedly come face to face with each other. Charlee inevitably harbours some resentment towards Oliver after he stopped sending his letters, and this adds an interesting layer of conflict to their reunion. Being present to experience the pair navigate their complicated situation and rebuild a friendship is captivating and truly engaging for the reader.

Exploring tropes such as second-chance romance, pen-pals, secret identities, and forced proximity, Unbearably Yours captures the true brilliance of of the idea that true love is timeless, and when given another chance, can be stronger than it was before. Following the second-chance trope (a trope I personally thoroughly enjoy), the author does a fantastic job of using two timelines to intertwine both characters and their stories. This dual timeline approach is a fantastic way to showcase the character development that was so evident as the story went on.

This book is a great fall read, and provides that cute, warm, wholesome, cosy vibe that readers enjoy so much.

I read Elodie Colliard's debut novel, The Last Encore, when it was first published and found myself a tad underwhelmed. I set the book aside, as well as the author, and decided that for the moment, I had read my fill. But when I saw the cover and heard the premise of Unbearably Yours, I was immediately roped back in. And overall, I'm really glad I gave this author's writing another chance. I found this book much more compelling than the first in the series. I absolutely adore the premise and the setting. I also found the pacing and writing as a whole to be much more mature. Granted, I still had some problems here and there. Sometimes the pining felt a little over the top, and I know it's nitpicking, but coming from an English major who writes and titles a lot of essays, I hated all the journal article titles in this book. But otherwise, I thought this story was really sweet and a super cozy read. I definitely recommend picking it up, even if you haven't read the rest of the series.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book!

"Unbearably Yours" is the 3rd book in the "It's Always Been You" series by Elodie Colliard!
After reading the first two books in the series, Elodie Colliard has once again given me butterflies. In fact, this book is my favorite of the series. I am such a sucker for couples who fall in love again after years apart. Overall, this book is tender and gentle, just like the relationship between Oliver and Charlee.

Read if you enjoy:
-small towns
-found family
-second chance romance
-forced proximity
-fall vibes

Seriously, I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, especially cozy, fall reads! 🤎🌲🍂

Such a sweet book, I loved Charlee and Oliver and the way they spoke to each other (in their letters and in real life) and I loved all the fall vibes. I can’t wait to go back and read the other 2 in the series!

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

This book wasn’t for me and I’d encourage anyone reading this to read the 5 ⭐️ reviews from those who did love it.

I struggled with the miscommunication trope. As an over communicator who could literally not even go to bed without saying what I need to say; there’s no f-ong WAY I can buy in to a book where people go years of sleeps without addressing an issue. Too much disbelief for me to suspend.

The letters were sweet, and the attached articles were clever and heart warming… but I (once again) can’t seem to get the, 'we fell in love through letters' thing. It never works for me, and I should have known that going into this book.

The story was sweet, but ultimately didn’t deliver for me.

This book was absolutely adorable! It had all the romance I love, with the perfect setting and the most charming characters. An ideal read for cozy Fall or winter days! However, I'm so sad this wasn't a favourite. I loved the overall vibes but unfortunately, it lacked the flow necessary in a second chance romance.

this book was cute.
it was super fast paced and cozy, genuinely perfect for this time of year.

i will say that i was more hooked in the beginning of the book with all their drama and reading their letters to one another. but once it was revealed what happened in the past i kind of lost interest because its just your typical miscommunication trope (which i don’t really like) and shocker after it’s revealed everything works out perfectly fine and there are no real issues which is just meh to me and makes the book lose some of the magic of this story. i feel like this book could have been really really good if things played out more realistic idk that’s just me.

as characters i loved all of them and how real they felt as people (although certain things oliver said gave me the ick lol)

This was such a fantastic book, the story really well fleshed out with characters that I want to be best friends with. And the setting!!! British Columbia sounds like the perfect place to set a romance book in, with an attractive yet shy male main character and feisty, brave woman to pair him with. I have had so much fun reading this, and it was equal parts sweet and spicy. Part of it was epistolary and despite not normally enjoying this style in books, I think it added a lot of depth and background to the story of Charlee and Oliver. This was my first book by Elodie Colliard but will not be the last!

I loved the overall theme and plot of the book but for me the writing didn’t flow as much as I wish it did - I could myself getting bored and having to re-read some parts.

Thank you netgalley for the arc!!

This one took me so long to read though. When I picked this one up I just wasn’t in the mood for it afterwards. There was a span of not a lot of reading being done and I didn’t get to do a lot, but once I got into this one it became better. The letter were a really cute ideas between our protagonists and the second chance romance feel was great. This was my first book by the author and I would definitely read more by her. There was a lot of character growth and we see Oliver fall more in love with Charlee and I loved it!

Unbearably Yours was a beautifully written addition to the It's Always Been You series, and even though it’s the third book, I didn’t feel lost jumping in here. Elodie Collard creates a heartfelt slow-burn romance set against the cozy charm of a small town and the thrill of the wild rainforest. The story follows Oliver and Charlee, two journalists from Toronto who have been unknowingly pen pals for years. As they travel to Vancouver’s rainforest for a high-stakes assignment, they’re drawn together not only by their shared professional goals but also by the unbreakable connection from their letters.

I enjoyed watching how the pen pal letters from the past weave seamlessly into their present, adding depth to their relationship. The dual POV lets you see both Oliver’s struggle with his family’s expectations and Charlee’s determination to save her job and the Toronto office. Their journey is filled with mutual support, chosen family moments, and a subtle chemistry that fits well with fans of slow-burn romance.

If you love small-town romance, forced proximity, and a hint of spice, Unbearably Yours is a cozy read to try. The book has a lovely blend of romance, self-discovery, and a strong focus on character growth, making it a solid 3-star read.

Thank you for the advanced copy!

I skimmed a good portion of this just to get to the end. The miscommunication was just so bad and didn’t really play out in a good satisfying way.
