This is the first book I’ve read by Becky. It was a little slow in the beginning. I would say it started to pick up for me around 20% in. All Kim ever wanted was to be an actor. When she gets the opportunity to be a PA to Jemima Eden she takes it. Working for her isn’t easy but Kim ends up getting an agent, it ends up being worth it. Jemima’s husband George seemed to have taken a liking to Kim. We end up seeing what a terrible husband he is to Jemima. After first, I wasn’t a fan or her but once I learned how terrible he was, I felt bad for her. He didn’t want the best for her. He just wanted to control her and have things his way. He even went as far to blame her for both of the miscarriages. He’s such a terrible and gross person. In the end, Kim and Jemima formed a beautiful friendship. Thank you NetGalley, Storm Publishing and Becky for the ARC!

The book deals with the relationship between Jemima Eden and Kin Conner. Jemima is a popular actress, and Kin is her assistant. George, Jemima's husband, is also an actor but not as famous as Jemima. The story deals with the relationship between these three personages. The book is fun to read, and there are several funny moments. The end is very, very surprising.

I loved, loved Kim! Her witty, laugh out loud inner dialogue about Jemima had me in stitches! I loved how she was the one authentic, down to earth stable character throughout the book. No matter the highs and lows that she experienced and no matter how badly Jemima treated her, Kim remained faithful and loyal towards Jemima. The plot twist at the end blew me away! That George was the villain all along! So it was for sure a sharp, double-edged sword, twisty thriller! So George thought that he could destroy Jemima's reputation but with all the drama at the end, Kim and Jemima ended up being the ones who emerged stronger, brighter, victoriously rising above their circumstances. Being superstars.

I enjoyed the twists and turns in this book. All the characters are well developed (which can be rare in some thrillers nowadays!) and I was glued to the pages! My first book from Becky Alexander but not my last!

This fast paced mystery reminds you everything is open to interpretation. The pov approach gives the story more realism and ensures as a reader you are kept guessing as to who is telling and seeing the truth. The funsl twistvat the end turned this into a 4 for me. Up that point it was just a story about the acting world. I enjoyed the reveal of the actress . The assistant Kim at points felt ger actions and thoughts weren't realistic. It was a quick read perfect for readers who like strong women focused mystery.

Aspiring actress, Kim, has hired on with a temp agency to help ends meet until she gets her big break. Who knew she'd be sent out as a personal assistant to none other than award winning actress, Jemima Eden! Kim quickly sees that "behind the curtain" and looking at a celebrity's real life isn't exactly what she had imagined. Before long, Kim is wearing Jemima's cast off clothing, running lines with her and attending filmings with her. Their similarities are uncanny, as Jemima often remarks she reminds her of herself a few years ago. This also doesn't go unnoticed by Jemima's husband George (also in the industry). I particularly enjoyed the character development. Well done Becky Alexander.

My love of the theatre almost guaranteed my enjoyment of this book and so it proved to be. A quick read that had this reader gripped. It brilliantly captured the emotions and uncertainty that is the world of theatre. Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this book.

Wow what a good fast paced read - loved it

Jemima Eden is an actress and seeks a PA Kim and husband Greg. It kept me gripped throughout. Jemima lives in London when she gets new PA. Kim can’t wait to start this job, and thinks of her dream job as being an actress. She works damn hard for Jemima but it certainly pays off for her

Loved the ending - all in all a great read

Becky Alexander weaves a good story. This one is full of mystery, drama, secrets, and suspense. It's set in the beguiling world of acting, movies and theatre, with a sustained peek behind the closed doors of the fictional rich and famous. The characters were complexly human, and definitely provoked strong reactions as I was reading, coaxing me forward for that satisfying 'oh... so that's why' as the story unfolded. There was enough description to situate me without taking over, and the writing flowed. I raced through The Other Mrs Eden wondering what's going to happen next and am delighted to say I didn't pick it. That’s always good. Perhaps the book description and the story could have aligned more closely, but it didn't impact my enjoyment, and the title had me expecting another Mrs Eden to pop out and surprise me. Then again, maybe she does. I enjoyed it and would recommend it. Thank you NetGalley.

I honestly thought this story was going to be a lot more addicting and have a lot more drama but it was just okay. The title makes you think the story will go one way but it really doesn’t go the way you think. This story was so much more about Jemina Eden and her new assistant Kim. Jemima is a famous actress and it’s mostly about her life, being super busy and getting new acting gigs and Kim wanting to be an actress and doing everything for Jemima. But really that’s all it is. Nothing crazy happens until about 85% through the story and the entire story was slow and bland.

There are so many other drama filled stories that are full of jealousy, romance, cheating, fame, busy lives, assistants and rich people that are more addicting and entertaining than this book that I would recommend! Honestly, this isn’t worth the read and Jemima’s story doesn’t need a second story. This just wasn’t for me.

2⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of The Other Mrs Eden.

Kim is an aspiring actress who takes a job as an assistant to Jemima who is a famous actress. Jemima is very difficult to work for and her husband George is always apologizing for her behavior. Deep down Jemima is not as confident as she portrays herself to be and her life is definitely not as glamorous as it seems to be.

I was not into this book at all. I did not find this book had any kind of thriller qualities, I never felt on the edge of my seat about anything taking place in the book. The title also makes no sense at all. I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over throughout the book.

This was a clever twisty story. I thought I had it twigged as to what was going to happen ( clever work in the title), so the ending was a surprise. However, if you think back there were subtle clues. This novel explores what is behind the life of the rich and famous, the insecurities, the ambition and the manipulation. This is an easy read that will suck you in and keep your attention. Thanks to NetGalley for a chance to read and review this book.

Delighted to have found a great author! It always feels slightly risky to invest in an author whose work you are unfamiliar with, but for me this is a risk that absolutely paid off! This was my type of psychological thriller - great plot, suspense filled, interesting characters and well-written.

The story is that of somewhat down on her luck, Kim, who scores the role of PA to famous actress, Jemima Eden. Kim experiences Jemima as the personification of a cliched diva, but finds herself inexplicably drawn to Jemima's husband. Thrown into the mix is Kim's dream of being an actress herself and Jemima's nose is well and truly out of joint! The way the plot plays out is surprising, and thoroughly entertaining.

All in all a great read I would 100% recommend.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

A really good read. From page 1 I was hooked. I love a dual telling of a story and this was particularly good. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out but I loved the ending. A rare REALLY satisfying end that tied all ends up. Go read!

"The Other Mrs. Eden" is a psychological thriller that centers on Kim, an aspiring actress who takes on the role of personal assistant to the illustrious Jemima Eden. At first, Kim perceives her new position as a surreal opportunity, immersing herself in Jemima's ostensibly flawless existence. However, as Kim delves deeper into Jemima's life, she reveals a more sinister reality lurking beneath the façade. This leads Kim to increasingly assume Jemima's identity, sparking an intense internal conflict regarding the boundaries of her own self versus those of Jemima. The narrative adeptly examines themes of identity, ambition, and the deceptive nature of appearances, culminating in a pivotal decision that challenges Kim's fidelity and self-awareness.

The novel is acclaimed for its compelling prose and intricately developed characters, particularly the nuanced interactions among Kim, Jemima, and her spouse, George. While the pacing effectively cultivates suspense, certain plot developments may strain the reader's willingness to suspend disbelief. Nonetheless, the narrative remains engrossing, providing valuable insights into the acting profession and the extremes individuals will pursue for achievement. The dual perspectives enhance the storytelling, and although Kim's background could have benefited from further elaboration, the overall literary experience is gratifying. This distinctive narrative appeals to aficionados of domestic noir and psychological thrillers, delivering an immersive reading experience that leaves a profound impact.

A super suspenceful story that makes you feel like you had a small glimpse in what Hollywood is really like. I enjoyed the fast pace and the cast of characters.

The Other Mrs Eden by Becky Alexander turned out to be a different experience than what I anticipated based on the title and synopsis. As an avid reader of thrillers, I found it both predictable and oddly paced, with the story taking its time to establish the characters before moving on to the action and twists that typically define the genre.

This book dedicates a lot more time to character development than the usual fast-paced thriller, so if you enjoy a deep dive into characters and haven’t read many thrillers before, this might be a good fit for you. However, despite the extensive setup, I was left unsatisfied with the conclusion. Some character motivations felt underexplored, and several hinted-at backstories were left unresolved. Whether this was intended as a setup for a sequel, red herrings, or simply overlooked, it remains unclear.

Overall, while The Other Mrs Eden had potential, the drawn-out pacing and lack of a fully satisfying conclusion left me wanting more.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
