Honestly I had no idea what to expect coming in to this book, the synopsis had me very intrigued and I was not dissapointed! The FMC Anna was/is very loveable, she deserves all the happiness in the world and her romance with Max was special to read about and I thorougly enjoyed every page of the book, the only thing I could say is that I wish it had've been longer as I feel there was potential for a few scenes that could've been expanded on but otherwise I adored it.
Thank you to the author and netgalley for this arc in exchange for a review!
3.75 out of 5...
Sarah Ready and the Ghosted book series have quickly become one of my go-to reads. I can always count on them to be entertaining, fast-paced, and a story full of unexpected twists and turns, with writing that feels almost comforting. Also, Sarah’s chemistry between her characters is always oh-so-good. While Wished checked off most of these boxes, unfortunately, I felt like something was missing from this book.
Firstly the story felt a little rushed, unlike the others. This was something difficult to balance because even though these two characters were a step above strangers before the wish, after the wish they have a history together which involves them being married. I also think the book would have greatly benefited from having Max’s point of view throughout the story, especially since the book starts with his POV and the prologue is also in his perspective. I think it would have given the book that much more depth and understanding to have both their perspectives given the “wish” affected them both and they were equally aware of what was happening.
Thank you Sarah Ready, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC of this read for my honest review.
**4.5 Stars**
**Book Review: *Wished* by Sarah Ready**
First I’d like to thank NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and WW Crown for an ARC copy of this book.
"Wished" by Sarah Ready is a delightful spin on the classic "wish come true" trope. The story follows Anna, who has her deepest wish granted—to be in love and married to her boss. But unlike many stories in this genre, the journey isn’t paved with insta-love or immediate romantic bliss. Instead, it’s a slow burn that feels more authentic and grounded, which sets it apart from other wish-fulfillment tales.
As a fan of 80s movies like *Teen Witch*, I was instantly won over by the premise of this book. The magical elements combined with the romance made it a fun and nostalgic read. Although I haven't read any of the other books in the *Ghosted* series, *Wished* stands well on its own and has definitely piqued my interest in the rest of the series.
Overall, *Wished* is a solid 4 to 4.5 star read for me. It’s charming, engaging, and offers a fresh take on a familiar theme. If you enjoy a bit of magic in your romance novels, this book is definitely worth picking up.
Wished is a rom-com which follows Anna, the cleaning lady. Anna lusts over Max, billionaire and owner of the largest house she is currently cleaning. Unfortunately Max does not know she exists. Until Anna makes one wish...
Cute premise! I did not realize this book was part of a series but read it as a standalone with no problems. I do wonder if there was some nuance to the story i was missing because of this, however. The premise was interesting an the story read like a sitcom rom-com (which I LOVE) unfortunately this book still feel a bit short for me. I did not believe the characters. Anna needed to be a bit more fleshed out. Her character was nice, but that was the only memorable quality. And while I know morally grey characters are having they resurgence.. Max just felt more like a jerk than morally grey.
Ultimately, I give this book 3.5 stars rounded up. It was cute and read like a good rom-com, I just did not find the characters super memorable.I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series and reading the books in order and seeing if that makes a difference.
I loved this book. I have loved the whole series. This book had me in tears near the end. Anna was so selfless, she would choose to be alone than let Max live in her wish life. I really didn't think I was going to like Max. When the book started I worried I would struggle to get into the story, but from 30% to 100% I could not put it down. I had to know what was going to happen. I love any story with magical elements. I hope Sarah Ready decides to write more books with a paranormal side.
Oh how I appreciated this book so much - after a long reading slump, I devoured Max and Anna's story within 24 hours and fell in love with Sarah's story-telling and writing! I adore magical realism books so this was a must read for me and it was gorgeous. I loved the concept, I loved the romance and I loved the characters. I hadn't realised it was the fourth in a series at the time but this can definitely be read as a stand-alone and I have in fact already devoured the previous 3 because I was so hooked in to this world. A fantastic series!
This was a very charming story. The story follows Anna and Max as she makes a wish on a sapphire necklace to be married to Max Barone. The wish comes true and all those around them see them as a happily married couple for the past seven years. However Anna and Max are aware that something isn’t quite right. This is a humorous rom-com and the last in the Ghosted series.
A quick, fun read.
*Thank you NetGalley and the author for providing me this E-Arc in exchange for an honest review
This was my first Sarah Ready book and I really enjoyed a lot. I was drawn to the plot because I love a bit magic mixed in my books. Anna and Max were honestly really cute together. The writing style was descriptive, which I loved but at times it was a bit too much and I got bored. This book gave me 13 wishes vibes and I was hooked.
Wished is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s Ghosted Series, and is as good as the others; however, if you haven't read the first ones, this one can be enjoyed as a stand-alone read. This one is the last of this series and I recommend you go ahead and start with the first one and make your way through them all.
Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.
This was such a heart-wrenching and simultaneously heart-warming story. I LOVED it!! Max and Anna’s story has been my favourite so far (I still need to read books 1 and 2). I laughed, I cried and I read it in one sitting!
I've now read all 4 books in the Ghosted series, and I've enjoyed each one. While this one isn't my favourite, I still really enjoyed it and read it in two sittings. I love Sarah's writing style - the characters are well-developed and relatable, and I love the humour, the romance, and the author's ability to tackle more serious issues that give you pause for thought.
If you enjoy magical realism, you should definitely add this one to your list. While part of a series, this can be enjoyed as a standalone. If you're planning to read others in the series, make sure you read them in order as characters appear in other books in the series, so there will be spoilers.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for an advance digital copy for review. My opinions are my own and are unbiased.
This book is about Anna, a woman who falls in love at first sight with her boss, Max, and one day wishes they were married. When her wish ends up coming true, they are married but he still has memories of their old life where he doesn’t know who she is.
It was my first Sarah Ready book. I wasn’t expecting much of it, but my oh my, how wonderfully surprised am I!
This book is about finding love, each other, yourself. The story of Anna and Max made me laugh, cry, and feel all the magical emotions that comes with it. Truly it is a book that will stay with me for a long time and it will be hard to get over it. Definitely one of my best reads of 2024 so far.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author and publisher who allowed me to read an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. I truly am impacted by it and I loved every second of reading this story!
Quick Summary: A love of a lifetime romance
My Review: Wished by Sarah Ready is book #4 in the Ghosted series.
About the Book: Is love at first sight real? Can it be, if it is associated with a wish? Is it possible to find the person you were meant to be with in a distorted reality? Can two souls who are destined to be together find their way to one another no matter what obstacles may come?
In this wonderfully creative, wholly magical romance, a wealthy businessman and his lowly employee find themselves catapulted into a dreamlike fantasy world. As they seek to find their way back to reality, feelings develop and secret desires unfold.
My Final Say: Sarah Ready has written another enchanting story, and I am over the moon about it. I absolutely loved this book. Everything about it was golden.
Both the audiobook and the e-book provided the just right reading experience. This gem goes on my besties shelf, without question.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the author, to the publishers, and to NetGalley. Thank you for granting access to this title in exchange for an honest review. It was my absolute pleasure to read/listen to this amazing novel. The entire series is exceptional. I look forward to reading more from this writer.
I was a bit bummed with this one. I’ve loved this series and really enjoyed Fated. I just didn’t feel like I got the connection between the main characters as much and it felt more sexual passion than love.
Wished is the 4th book in Sarah Ready's Ghosted series. Since there's very little references to the previous books, it could easily be read as a standalone, though there are some possible spoilers in the epilogue if you intend to eventually read the earlier books.
I thought this was an enjoyable read. It's not surprising that we experience some insta-love along the way, given Anna's love at first sight and then reality changing from a wish. There's some pretty intense feelings involved that turns up the spice. I enjoyed some of the philosophical aspects that the book explores, such as the impact of changed realities, freedom of choice, and the things that make people happy. There was at least one aspect of the scenario that was never really explained, though given the magical/paranormal aspect the story is based on, that might be explanation enough for most people. This book definitely brings a rollercoaster of emotions.
Thank you to Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles and NetGalley for the early review copy of Wished! All opinions expressed are completely my own.
An enchanting romance that sweeps you off your feet with its clever plot and endearing characters. When a magical wish turns Anna's life upside down, the journey is both heartwarming and captivating. If you're craving a feel good read that blends romance with a touch of magic, this book is a must read.
A cute magical story 💕
What if one morning you woke up and your wishes came true? What if unexpectedly your whole life changed and you were exactly where you wanted to be?
A story of a grumpy workaholic that falls for a selfless dreamer after an unexpected series of events. A fairy-tale that I could read again, and again and again. Perfect for the hopeless romantics 💕
A really big thank you to Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC/Independent Book Publishing Association, Sarah Ready and #Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to the audiobook prior to its release, in return of an honest review.
Sarah is entertaining my delusions with this series! I absolutely fell for Max and I just loved Anna as the protagonist.
i kinda liked this book but it feels like something is missing.
but i still think this is a good book that could entertain some people.
2.5/5
I think this might have been my favourite book from the whole series as I really loved Anna and Max. Anna worked in Max's home as a cleaner and from the very first time she met him she fell head over heels. Of course Max never noticed Anna and was not a fan of love.
One day as Anna is cleaning She sees some jewellery on a table and a note underneath about making a wish. So she wishes she was married to Max not thinking anything of it...until she wakes up in a bed that isn't her own. in a very big house and realises her wish came true...but is it the fairytale she expected?
Such a fun story highly recommend!
