Teresa Driscoll at the top of her game is more less guaranteed to provide a gripping story. This book seems like it could be part of a series, and I haven't read the earlier instalments, so there were times when things felt a little off, but overall, it was an interesting enough storyline.

Matthew is currently a private investigator, though he used to be a policeman. He is happily married to Sally, and they have an 8 year old daughter, Amelie.

Matthew's speciality has been finding missing children, although he has not always been successful in doing so. Now the unthinkable has happened - Amelie is missing.

And Matthew knows enough to be very, very worried. Because the longer a child is missing, the greater the chances are that they will not be found alive...

This was, in my opinion, not the best of Driscoll's books, but it is quite readable. I think most of her fans will enjoy it.

Finding missing children is Matthew’s job—but this time it’s his own daughter who’s disappeared.
Wow! Great read! I sometimes don’t like this type of read I think because it scares me somewhat?! lol not sure maybe it’s the children involved?! but the storyline was very interesting, it had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, child kidnapping, and a few twists and turns! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Amelie is missing. What had happened to their sweet eight-year-old daughter? Sally, Amelie's mother, becomes a mere shell of herself, while Matthew, her father, is forced to step aside from the profession that he loves and watch one of his dearest friends, Melanie, lead the investigation.

Each chapter told from various characters point of view, each chapter leaving the reader yearning for more. The ability to be in the moment with Sally, Matthew or Melanie, merging with their feelings, their fear and the decisions each of them was forced to make all with the same goal- to find and save Amelie. The agony, the heartbreak, the desperation and the race against time was in every page. Captivating. Enthralling.

An absolute page turner with heart racing moments,

Close Your Eyes by T. Driscoll, published by Thomas & Mercer, is the next breathtaking thriller by this outstanding author.

Sally Hill and her husband Matthew are happily married with an 8 year old daughter. Everything seems perfect when Amelie suddenly vanished in thin air.
Matthew, former cop now PI, hius job is finding missing children. But will he find his own daughter?
Time's running out in this fast paced, complex and literally unputdownable thriller. I greatly enjoyed reading the story.
Blurb: Finding missing children is Matthew’s job—but this time it’s his own daughter who’s disappeared.
When private investigator Matthew Hill picks up the call from his wife, Sally, his world comes crashing down. Their eight-year-old daughter, Amelie, is missing. One second, she was there, the next, she was gone.
It’s the very nightmare they’ve been dreading. Long ago, Matthew left the force after a woman blamed him for her son’s death, promising that he too would one day feel her pain. It’s a threat that’s hung over his family ever since, and now it’s Amelie’s picture on the news.
Matthew knows how these things go—the longer their daughter is missing, the less hope there is of finding her alive.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.

I think this must be part of a series, because the urgency of the search for Matthew and Sally's missing 8 year-old daughter Amelie was continually being interrupted by section narrating their past careers and relationships. At the beginning of Part 2 of the novel it was revealed exactly what had happened to Amelie and so then it was more a case of the police catching up. I assume Matthew is the common thread in this series, but here he came off as a bit distant from Sally and out of control.

I won't be looking for others in this series.

Kept my interest, and fun to read about familiar characters, Matthew Hill, and DI Melanie Saunders, again, as well as, recognize several past storylines. I’ve read all of this author’s books, and find there is great variability in my ratings; this one was more middle of the road. Tell Me Lies is my absolute fave!

Thank you very much to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for the advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

“She will come to regret the tussle in the shop more than anything else in her life”

Close Your Eyes follows the timeline events that consequently happen following the kidnap of Amelie, Matthew and Sallys daughter. Matthew is an ex detective turned PI returning back detective following an event that happened in his earlier career. The book is split into Part 1 and Part 2 with multi perspectives all the way through, Evoking every mothers worst fear of turning round and their child has gone, this book had my sick with worry all the way through, never knowing what turn the book would be taking next.

I loved this book. This is everything you want and need from a book. Bravo Teresa!

Finding missing children is Matthew's job—but this time, it's his own daughter who's disappeared."

This gripping thriller, centered around private investigator Matthew Hill, is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. When Matthew's eight-year-old daughter, Amelie, vanishes, the tension is palpable. The fear and desperation felt by Matthew and his wife, Sally, leap off the page, making it impossible to put this book down.

The author masterfully weaves a narrative that is both heartbreaking and suspenseful. Matthew's past, haunted by a mother’s vengeful promise, adds a chilling layer to the story, and the race against time to find Amelie keeps you on the edge of your seat. The stakes are incredibly high, and the raw emotion depicted is both realistic and poignant.

The character development is superb, particularly in how Matthew and Sally cope with their fear and guilt. The portrayal of their struggle and determination is deeply moving, making readers root for their family every step of the way.

"Finding missing children is Matthew's job—but this time, it's his own daughter who's disappeared" is more than just a tagline; it's the heart of a story that explores the darkest fears and
