Wow another fantastic book in the Jon Renwick series, Jon is asked to undertake a top secret mission to eliminate an American spy, he's only got one week and two people to help him..
Action packed from start to finish as the target always seems one step ahead.
Love this series bring on more!

Another awesome addition to this series. This latest book didn’t have as much heart stopping action as some of the previous books, but still a great read. In this plot Jon is working with only Treville and an old friend, Mac, to take down a corrupt ex CIA operative working for the Russians. Lots of moving parts and near misses.
I am already looking forward to what Jon and Treville get up to next.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Jon Resnick gets a package at his home in Maine. The note says "We want to talk with you", and he opens the accompanying MacBook Air with his CIA credentials and sees middleaged woman Fran Petersen who had headed up the Directorate of Intellegence. She wants to know if he's available, and then says a plane will pick him up at the airport at 5am. When he interviews with her, she wants him to kill William Crenshaw, a rogue ex-counter intellegence expert who is giving secrets to the Russians and others. Resnick first goes to Florida to see his friend Trevelle who agrees to help with finding and tracking his target. He flies to Crete to sign up Ex-SAS Mac. David McCafferty to work with him. They have one week to do the job!

Together Jon and Mac travel around Egypt, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, etc. Crenshaw has a group of Russion bodyguards who keep him on the move and surrounded as well as the fact he is driven around in a bullet proof car. Crenshaw has been told they are after him, and Jon and Mac have their work cut out for them. Can they find Crenshaw and kill him before the week is up and he hands over all the papers and disappears for good.

This is a very exciting book (as are all the books in the series), and I had trouble putting it down. I thank Netgalley and Tomas and Mercer for the ARC so that I could read the book before publication.

Mac McCafferty and John Reznick are the leads in an attempt to take out a former career CIA agent who has become a Russian tool Hard Duty is a smaller story than many of the J.B. Turner thrillers to precede it. For me, the excitement dimmed. The author sets the pace, he lays out the cards. Here it seemed at times as if he was intentionally dragging things out to be sure to have a book length story. Some of the diversions were just not that interesting or took too long.
Having said that, the heart of a thriller is still there. A shorter, tighter story might have worked better.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Jon gets recruited to perform the impossible. He is to kill an American traitor before he releases critical information to the Russians. He has a week to do it, and he can only have a three-man crew. With his prey alerted, and always one step ahead, Jon, Mac are kept globe hopping as their their stay-at-home techie provides clues and time runs short..

The thrills and non stop action continues in another really, really good Jon Reznick thriller by Turner.
CIA blacks op Reznick is thinking about a Florida getaway until he gets a call to arms from the powers that be at his former stomping grounds.
He is asked to track down and kill a former CIA operative who is now selling secrets and CIA undercover agent IDs to the Russians. He calls on two former pals to help in this possibly impossible mission and takes off in a CIA jet to begin the chase.
Great plot with the usual highly and well defined characters which is a Turner trademark.
Everything that happens in the chase is realistic enough to be real.
Great storyline with terrific thrills and chills as it all unwinds.
Next, please.

As always from this author, a gripping page turning thriller that had me hooked from the very first page, and I could not put it down until I had finished it. The characters, too, were well drawn.

**Five-Star Review: A HeThis gripping thriller, centered around private investigator Matthew Hill, is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. When Matthew's eight-year-old daughter, Amelie, vanishes, the tension is palpable. The fear and desperation felt by Matthew and his wife, Sally, leap off the page, making it impossible to put this book down.

The author masterfully weaves a narrative that is both heartbreaking and suspenseful. Matthew's past, haunted by a mother’s vengeful promise, adds a chilling layer to the story, and the race against time to find Amelie keeps you on the edge of your seat. The stakes are incredibly high, and the raw emotion depicted is both realistic and poignant.

The character development is superb, particularly in how Matthew and Sally cope with their fear and guilt. The portrayal of their struggle and determination is deeply moving, making readers root for their family every step of the way.

"Finding missing children is Matthew's job—but this time, it's his own daughter who's disappeared" is more than just a tagline; it's the heart of a story that explores the darkest fears and
