Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

We meet Imogen, she really wants her colleagues to like her and so she’s made up a family and also what she does outside of work.

But, the truth is she spends her whole time working or planning what she has to do next for work. She didn’t have a good childhood and her job is the only thing that she is good at and can control.

Then, she makes a mistake at one of the functions and her boss makes her take time off.

She has a client called Dorothy, she meets Imogen and informs her that she can come and stay at her cottage which is vacant on her estate. But, she has another reason why she’s invited her to stay there.

I loved the characters and the setting as well as the dogs.

I highly recommend this book.

It’s not the Christmas season without a Sarah Morgan book and this is another emotional read from her.
Imogen’s story is a difficult one and my heart broke again and again as we got to know her story, and that self protective wall she’d built up around herself.
Sara and Dorothy were such great characters - warm and supportive, the family unit was so important to both of them. Ava and Iris, a beautiful antidote to the emotions surrounding the family.
Holly Cottage was a wonderful retreat for the Christmas holidays and I’m all for going all out with the festivities.

A great Christmas read. Imogen is an only child to a mum that makes her call her Tina and she only calls when she wants something. It’s no surprise that Imogen doesn’t bother with Christmas and is a workaholic who works through the festive season. Her boss realises she’s close to burning out and makes her take a break. Imogen is about to go on an emotional journey during this break that she definitely didn’t see coming.
A good read to get you in the mood for Christmas

When I am looking for escapist fiction, Sarah Morgan is one of my favourite authors. I was delighted to receive and ARC of 'The Christmas Cottage' - thank you Netgalley (this has not affected my review). The main character, Imogen, is incredibly hard working. In order to fit in at work, she has invented a family and social life, although the truth is she spends every minute either working or thinking about work. The product of a difficult childhood, work is the one place she is successful and in control. One day at work she makes a big mistake - and her boss forces her to take time off. One of her clients, Dorothy, offers Imogen the use of a cottage on her estate, however she has an ulterior motive - Imogen is not the only person to be hiding secrets... If you only read one Christmas romance this year, make it this one!

My favourite Christmas read so far. This has all the 'feels'. Loved the setting, the inclusion of a dog, the adorable little girls, the alpacas . . . Tick tick tick. I did find the intensity of Imogen's colleagues a tad unrealistic. They just never knew when to stop. No wonder Imogen told lies. I do think that some serious issues were covered very lightly in this book, there just wasn't enough time for everything to be covered with the depth required. The romance was rushed too. I feel the ending was a beginning, and wonder if there is a sequel planned. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A truly heartwarming Christmas story with family, friends, traditions, romance and a scattering of snow
Imogen has been brought up by her single mum without the help of family or love from her mother. To compensate, Imogen fabricates her lifestyle, telling colleagues that she has a wide family , a pet dog and lots of evening engagements. . To compensate for
I her lonely existence, Imogen works far too hard until she suffers a near breakdown and her fabricated world is in danger of imploding. .
I loved this book even though the description sounds dark, it included many funny incidents and characters who I would love to meet..
A great story to curl up with on a dark winters night.

Imogen is a hard working events organiser, she has an extremely impressive work ethic, her reputation precedes her and her work is her life, quite simply she has nothing else and she's even gone so far as to make up a pretend private life to her colleagues just so she can 'fit in'. Then something happens that could affect her job and she is forced to take a step back so, when her favourite client Dorothy invites her to spend some time in Holly Cottage on her country estate in The Cotswolds, she thinks it's just what she needs to reset. She's settling in well and enjoying the peace and quiet, then she spots something that makes her question everything she's been told in the past and wonders if she can forgive those that have hurt her and move on with her life.

The Christmas Cottage is the latest beautifully crafted story by Morgan and the fact that it's a Christmassy read, set in the beautiful Cotswolds is just the icing on the (Christmas) cake for me. The story revolves around Imogen, a twenty six year old events organiser who lives for her work, but longs for a loving family and I was invested in her from the first page to the last, because if anyone deserved a happy ever after, she did. I loved the bond that Imogen has with her client, Dorothy and was intrigued why Dorothy's daughter Sara wasn't keen on her mum getting too close but, as secrets began to emerge and the pieces all started to slot into space, it all began to make sense. This story has it all; humour, emotion, romance and even a twist that was totally unexpected and I raced through this feel good read in a matter of hours. Another fabulous read from this author, which I highly recommend.

I'd like to thank HQ and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

The Christmas Cottage contains all the elements I have come to expect from Sarah Morgan’s Christmas novels. All the fuzzy, warmth that a family Christmas brings along with the joining of hearts and souls that were lost but have found each other.

The warmth doesn’t start to eminate from the pages until halfway through. The first half of the book sets the scene each chapter headed with the name of a different character and told from their perspective.

Imogen is a single, highly successful businesswoman who is admired and liked by all. However, she has no personal life, no family and perfect Christmases are something she organises for her clients not something she gas ever experienced. Dorothy, one of Imogen’s best clients, is well off, runs a successful family business and lives on a beautiful estate surrounded by her animals, friends and family. Despite this she feels a depth of sadness from the losses of her past that she hides as best she can beneath her generosity, love and warmth as a member of the local community, Mother, Grandmother and friend. Doroth’y’s daughter , Sara is a happily married mother of two. She has only ever known the love and protection of her family and friends. She is worried for her Mother, who she thinks has invested too much in the professional relationship with Imogen and become too close.

When Imogen tells Dorothy she will be alone in London for Christmas and that she has a full month off, Dorothy decides to invite her to spend her extended leave in the cottage on her estate. This does not go down well with Sara she fears for her Mother’s attachment, is Imogen trustworthy?

Once at the delightful Holly Cottage, the Christmassy vibes start to explode. Things get better for everyone. A beautiful story of the strength of relationships through turmoil and loss develops. It shows that although people like Imogen, can be strong and successful alone, the need for a shoulder to cry on, an understanding ear and truths to be shared can be overwhelming. Colleagues, friends, families, pets all come together to prove that love exists and can be found when all seems lost.

I really enjoyed this lovely Christmas read, it’s full of happiness and love.
Imogen works hard, she isn’t looking forward to Christmas as she’ll be on her own again, her mother is not really in the picture. She is a lovable character who puts a smile on your face, she’s funny, hardworking and learning to love. When one of her clients invites her to her cottage to rest from work, things start to untangle.

A 5 star Christmas read.

Imogen is an events planner excelling in her job, but she has secrets. Imogen presents herself to her work colleagues how she wishes her life to actually be.
A mistake at work will change things for Imogen.

I absolutely loved this book. I warmed immediately to Imogen and was rooting for her.
The book flowed really well and I felt totally immersed into it.
A lovely Christmassy book which has depth to it.
Sad I’ll have to wait another year for hopefully another Christmas book from Sarah Morgan.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Publisher for an advanced e-book copy. Opinions about the book are entirely my own.

All Imogen has is her job which is built on personal lies , and an abusive mother . She longs for family and friends ,but has neither -Until a stroke of fate brings her to client Dorothy's cottage for Christmas and meets the marvellous Miles. Sarah Morgan at her best, a wonderful romance, perfect reading for a cold wet day.

I know when I get to read a book by Sarah that I'm in for a treat and this was no exception. Families are very important, even more so at Christmas but when you've never experienced that it can be an awful time of the year. Imogen has never had a proper Christmas and usually works hard to blank it out but when one of your lovely clients turns out to be your grandmother? Happy Christmas!

Another fantastic Christmas book from Sarah and such a fabulous gift that kept on giving. Imogen works non stop and Christmas isn’t her thing until life gets turned upside down. Romance tick, Christmas tick, tears tick and fun ticked. Thanks to Sarah and her publisher. Please keep on writing.

4.5 stars!

If you are looking for a cosy, festive read with a gorgeous setting and all the Christmassy feels you can imagine, then look no further than The Christmas Cottage! This was an absolutely dreamy read which I raced through.

The story centres on Imogen, an events organiser working for a firm in London, who is so career-driven that she’s sending emails at 3am and even on Christmas day! But behind her workaholic lifestyle are secrets that she doesn’t want her colleagues to find out.

Then one day, as Christmas is getting close, Imogen’s boss declares that she is too close to burnout, and orders that she takes a month off – which coincides with her favourite client, Dorothy, offering to let her stay in her cottage in the Cotswolds. Ready to escape her life in London, off Imogen goes… and she gets more than she expected from her month in the countryside!

I just adored the Cotswolds Christmassy setting and all the descriptions of the festive activities Imogen gets involved with – it made me feel so cosy and excited for the upcoming season! Even in October it was filling my heart with festive joy so this will be absolutely perfect for snuggling up with in December! I couldn't resist making a hot chocolate when I was mid-way through reading a particularly cosy scene!

Imogen is a great character – I really went through the rollercoaster of emotions with her with all that she goes through in London, and then the surprise twist around halfway through! I was not expecting it at all and loved it! And I was in tears by the end (joyful tears!).

Sarah has been called ‘the Queen of Christmas novels’ and I can see why – everything came together perfectly to make the ultimate cosy and enjoyable read – the setting, the emotional storyline, the cosiness of the cottage and Dorothy’s house, and the holiday activities – it ticks all of the boxes you could want! Oh and I can’t do this review without mentioning the dogs – for me, some great canine characters are the cherry on the Christmas cake for a perfect festive story!

The Christmas Cottage has all the festive feels that readers have come to expect from a Sarah Morgan novel. Set in a picturesque village in the Cotswolds, snow, a hunky kind sensitive vet and a workaholic learning the benefits of a slower pace of life. Morgan manages to mix the festive cliches along the more serious subject of families and mother daughter relationships in a really sensitive and moving way. I fell in love with the characters and wanted to spend more time with them once the book finished. A bittersweet festive tale that left me feeling uplifted, warm, and fuzzy.

Yet another fantastic Christmas story from Sarah Morgan who never fails to disappoint. A family story set in a beautiful cottage with a superb Christmassy feel.

Another great Christmas book from Sarah Morgan. This one took me a little while to warm to the characters and get into the book, but once you get into the main part of the story it is difficult to put down. A really nice Christmassy ending and I loved the way Imogen took control of the destructive relationship with her mother. Would definitely recommend this for a Christmas read.

Imagen has an all consuming job in the city as an event organiser. She works all hours to cover upper lack of home life. An unloving mother is her only family so she is reluctant to share with colleagues. But something has to give...
A feel good Christmasy family story. Just right for whiling away a rainy day by the fire.
I really would like a continuation to fi d out what happens next.
