I loved this book! Wow, so many twists and turns, I didn't know who to trust. Really enjoyed the ride!

This story has a good pace, especially for a Britsh book, and the plot is intricate and very good. The characters are also great, but I really dislike the changing first person POV.

Ty to NetGalley and publishers for the ARC!

This was a great read full of twists and turns. I love a good murder mystery.

Millie's boss, Freya, was a nightmare equivalent to Miranda Presley.

This is my first read by Sarah Bonner and I loved it!

You won't regret picking this one up.

I loved, loved, loved this book! It blends being dark with humour, and has so many twists and turns that you still won’t know how it ends until you get there. The book is written from 4 points of view, but I liked how each person was the point of view for a huge section of the book before it moved to the next person, so that you weren’t constantly back and forth between people. The overall theme wasn’t one I’d come across before, so I appreciated the originality of it, and the writing style was exceptional. I’d be surprised if this doesn’t become a bestseller

What a fun book. I’ve had some terrible bosses before, but none like this. It’s a wild ride filled with secrets and murder.

Interesting concept, wasn’t pulled off well.

Mild-mannered Millie starts to suspect her bitch of a boss, Freya, is a serial killer when she discovers there are people who died mysteriously every time she was on a business trip.

Too many characters changing direction in the middle of the story.

I wasn’t impressed by the ending.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!

This was such a good book. I really enjoyed it. More than I thought I would. I loved the writing style. This book had me hooked from page one. This is a first for me by this author but will not be my last!!

In this fun, quirky mystery, Millie thinks her boss Freya might be a serial killer after an anonymous text sends her on a clue-filled adventure. With twists, turns, a love interest, and plenty of dilemmas, Millie must decide if she should report Freya to the police or see what she can get in return. It's a fun, light-hearted read with great likeable characters.

I really wish there were half stars. This is better than 3 stars but not really 4 stars. I like that it's original and made some sharp turns just as I thought I knew where it was going. I didn't like that there were some major coincidences and convenient occurrences in the plot which were just too hard to believe. I liked seeing the story from the different viewpoints but I didn't find the behaviour of the characters to always feel natural or in sync with their perceived traits. The concept is great but I think the final result could have been better. Enjoyable but flawed.

This is the first book I have read of Sarah, This was a fun and easy read. The book follows Millie who works for Freya at Serendipity a make up company . Freya is quite unapproachable and also acting very strangely. She quickly begins to piece together that a couple of seemingly unconnected murders that have recently occurred might not be so random and now Freya's old PA Sam is missing. I like that the book is also told from Freya's POV. This is a story of revenge, murder and relationships. I will be recommending to others

Twisty and twisted and fun! An enjoyable read with characters and situations that were relatable, and the author's style was perfect for this story.

I really enjoyed How to Slay at Work. It was full of suspense, drama, and betrayal.
I love books about female serial killers, and this definitely didn't disappoint.

I loved the storyline, it was very cleverly put together. I thought I knew exactly where it was headed, but I was completely wrong. The twists were fantastic, and I didn't see them coming at all.

At first I was a bit annoyed at the lack of detail with some of the slayings, but after finishing the book, I don't think more detail in those scenes would have fit into the aesthetic of the story.

Sarah Bonner is fast becoming a favourite. Both her previous books: Her Perfect Twin and Her Sweet Revenge were fantastic, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

I highly recommend.

5 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks to Netgalley, Boldwood Books, and Sarah Bonner for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book so much that I inhaled it in one sitting. It was so fun and fast paced that there wasn't a dull moment to be had.

I liked that the POV alternated sections, as opposed to chapters, as it felt like you could really get your teeth into that persons narrative. It was so fascinating getting into Millie and Freya's heads as the story unfolded. I quite liked the ending - it didn't go in the direction that I thought it would which I loved!

Thak you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, I really enjoyed this book! I loved how I wasn't able to predict where the story was going. There were some really great twists and unexpected events in this story. I ended up liking Freya more and more as the story progressed, and then discovered that she was much more of a villain than i expected! I will be reading more by Sarah Bonner in the future.

psychological-thriller, wealthy, entitled-attitude, investigations, multiple-murder, situational-humor, verbal-humor, suspense, crime-fiction****

Millie works for a multinational firm and now her boss is the scary Freya who is the nonmagical kind of witch. Ho hum, old stuff, right? Wrong. There's something wrong about Freya's hopping from country to country because in each case a man is left dead for one reason or another. Millie and her roommate get into following the paper trail and more. But there is so much side-splitting hilarity! Not to mention the positively insane twists and diabolical side issues. Fascinating read.
I requested and received a free temporary EARC from Boldwood Books via NetGalley. Thanks

For starters, don't let the title fool you, it's not some handbook about being productive, but actually a psychological thriller.

I've read 'Her perfect twin' & 'Her perfect revenge' by Sarah Bonner before, which I quite liked, so I kept an eye out and was waiting for something new from her already for a while.

The main character in this book is Millie, who gets an unexpected promotion when her boss Freya's assistant Sam doesn't come to work one day.
Freya is a very ridiculously demanding boss who travels a lot, and now Millie has to go to Paris with Freya instead of Sam.
At the hotel, Millie sees Freya behaving very strangely and soon a body is found. Millie starts receiving mysterious messages that encourage her to investigate this.

Right from the very first chapter, it felt a lot like "The devil Wears Prada", both story and characters wise and actually the reason for this similarity was also revealed later in the book.

I don't want to give away too much about the story, but my feelings about this book are quite mixed - I rather liked the overall structure and plot of the story, some characters were pleasantly annoying while others were irritating (and even pointless) in a negative way, there were quite a few unexpected twists and turns, but the motives of the characters were kind of bland and I didn't get the same thrill while reading as with Bonner's previous books.

Oh my God! Am I even reading the same book as everyone else?

After seeing all the five star reviews I had high expectations that this book could be an excellent mix of Sex and the City versus Sweetpea. In reality it’s just a constant flow of mindless, endless, drivel … The story is long and meandering and absolutely mind numbingly dull. It’s so far down chick lane that I’m not quite sure what category actually fits into

The boss, Freya, is an almost direct lift of the devil wears Prada Miranda Priestley!! Followed very closely by Millie who is our little mouse of an assistant, wannabe big-time player. I’d love to say that it started with a bit of a bang and then lost its way but really this boat never set sale and all the constant references to money and fashion and lifestyle just don’t really sit right with what they’re trying to achieve in creating a serial killer boss.

Neither as the characters are particularly likable or even well constructed from either persons point of view they change when the narrative flips to the first person. I felt that this inconsistency of character also added to my lack of interest with the narrative. If you’re going to be horrid, be horrid to the end don’t have any kind of emotional sympathy. Miranda Priestley wouldn’t have. All in all a thoroughly disappointing read and one I really wouldn’t recommend picking up. I don’t know who the people are that gave it anything above three stars but in my opinion they must’ve been paid or persuaded to give that vote because I can’t see anything about this book that would merit higher than what I’ve given it.

Thank you to NetGalley for my advance copy in exchange for my honest review my thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a fun dark read.
Millie takes on a new job and her boss Freya is a heartless mean bitch but there is more about Freya is she also a killer?
This story is just fabulous and great to read great characters and twists.
