I loved this book, it was so warm and fluffy. I really enjoyed the authors descriptions of the characters. The translation explanations at the back of the book are a nice addition for those unfamiliar with manga and Japanese culture. I can't wait for a volume two.

This was an absolutely adorable beginning to a sweet romance series. You can tell the author loves dogs so much with beautifully drawn details of the pups. I love the trope of a small strong girl and a big sweet man with dogs that match their insides, not outsides. This is a slow-burn romance that is just getting started, and I would love to keep reading more. I also like how the main characters are adults with jobs and not some high schoolers (which happens a lot in romance manga). I will definitely continue with this series!

The Pupposites Attract, Volume 1 by Hono Natsuna is a cute manga that explores the charming dynamics between owners and their dogs, where opposites attract. It portrays big dogs and small dogs paired with their unlikely human counterparts—big dogs with small women and small dogs with big men—and it offers a heartwarming glimpse into unique dog-human relationships. This quick read is perfect for any dog lover, especially those fond of Rottweilers, combining cuteness with a touch of quirky humour.
Thank you Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the eARC of this book.

I absolutely loved this first volume! The opposite's attract trope has always been one I enjoyed, and I loved the inclusion of animals into this trope! The pet inner-monologue was not something I was expecting, and found myself looking forward to it!

I will absolutely be following this series and have Volume 1 on the way, with a few upcoming volumes already pre-ordered!!

This was an adorable and touching manga about the relationship between a dog and their person. I liked the dynamic of big dog/small woman and small dog/big man. The addressing through humor of the tendency for large, intimidating dogs to be judged despite copious training and good behavior, versus small dogs with poor training and rambunctious behavior, was very apt for current attitudes toward specific breeds. All around, this was a delightful manga that was clearly written by a fellow dog-lover. Highly recommend and I can't wait for volume two!

This was so sweet and wholesome, and I absolutely loved it! All four of the main leads, the two humans and their pet dogs, were so cute and it was so sweet to watch them all interact. This is also the first time I see a rottweiler in a manga, and it was so so cute! I'm definitely biased because I grew up with a rottweiler just like Tsubu-chan, but I found him to be so adorable and lovable. Definitely would recommend to any manga lovers who also are dog lovers, or anyone that just loves a sweet, lighthearted story. So looking forward to continuing to read this as it gets published!

First and foremost, thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

This was the cutest manga I’ve ever read! The art is stunning and the story is just so cozy! I loved the contrast between Chiharu/Tsubu and Kiyotaka/Monjuro. It is more of a slow burn romance, which I’m a huge fan of, so I really enjoyed this one. I honestly can’t wait to read more about the characters and the development of their relationship.

Review: 'Pupposites Attract' is a heartwarming romance manga that perfectly captures the joys of unexpected connections, both human and canine. The story follows Chiharu and her gentle giant of a Rottweiler, Tsubu-chan, alongside Kiyotaka and his lively Pomeranian, Monjuro. Despite their contrasting personalities and the differences between their pets, these two characters find themselves drawn together through a series of charming encounters.

The author, Hono Natsuna, has done a commendable job in crafting a simple yet engaging narrative. The story is light and easy to read, making it an enjoyable experience for anyone who loves pets or is in the mood for a feel-good romance. The translation notes at the end are particularly helpful, adding an extra layer of appreciation for the cultural nuances within the story.

In summary, 'Pupposites Attract' is a delightful read that will appeal to dog lovers and romance fans alike. I give it 5 stars and recommend it to read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC.

This was insanely cute and fluffy! I loved seeing how much both of the characters love their dogs. I really liked the art style of this manga too. I’m interested in continuing this series to see where it goes from here.

I was excited to read this manga when I saw the Japanese edition. From the moment I saw this ARC, I knew I had to read it and finally discover the actual story behind that amazing art. I’m so thrilled that there’s now an official translation available!

My expectations were not only met but exceeded—I absolutely loved it. The story is incredibly heartwarming. I loved how both characters are incredibly strong, but in different (and equally important) ways, and how they admire each other’s strengths. I’m hoping for more volumes because I need to see more of their relationship.

And let’s not forget the dogs—they’re absolutely adorable. I loved the chapter where their thoughts are shared. Really, I can’t wait for more!

📚 Pupposites Attract by Hono Natsuna
⭐⭐⭐.5/5

I'd like to express my gratitude to @netgalley , the author, and the publishers for providing me with an #arc copy of this book.💕

My review 💌:

I have to say, it was a lovely experience. The storyline revolves around two characters who meet unexpectedly, thanks to their charming dogs and a beautiful, wholesome friendship/crush develops between the two. What sets this romance apart is the delightful contrast between the characters' personalities and their furry companions.

The English translation version I read was incredibly enjoyable, but I encountered a minor issue with the point of view switching between the main characters and their pets. The lack of clear indication made it occasionally difficult to discern whose perspective I was reading. Despite this small drawback, the story itself was undeniably endearing.

The characters and their pets complemented each other in a heartwarming way, and I found the interplay between them to be truly delightful. Opposites Attract" is a must-read for fans of sweet and heartwarming romances.

This book felt like a hug it was so fluffy and cute and as a dog person I am obsessed with all the little paws at the end of the chapters they are so tiny and cute 🥺.
The characters are perfect I loved how respectful and thoughtful they were towards each other, like Kiyotaka was such a gentleman like yeah he is a big firefighter but he is such a golden retriever with his small tiny dog and chiharu was so sweet and polite I loved how small she is and how enormous tscbu-chan actually is like he is almost her height😭😭😭.
This was such a fun cute time I really enjoyed reading it and wouldn't hesitate to pick volume two.
Thank you netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc.

Thank you to Kodansha and NetGalley for the opportunity to check this volume out!

Basic premise: tall male MC with tiny overactive dog and small female MC with big dog. Think opposites attract.

Art style is cute. Storyline is cute. There isn’t much depth here but it’s a sweet little slice of life story with some added potential romance - I think if you’re picking this up you’re not looking for anything crazy.

The only part that confused me was the obsession with the strength of both characters. At one point the female MC is afraid to pet a hamster because of her strength. I wasn’t really understanding why the mangaka made such a big deal out of it.

Overall I enjoyed it and I would probably check out volume 2.

This manga was absolutely delightful! I love that our owners, Chiharu and Kioytaka, were totally opposites of eachother. Their dogs are also opposites of their own personality and of each other. This was a great, quick read. I love the occasional shift in perspectives to the dogs and hope to see more of that in future volumes. This was a great volume to get to know our characters and their dogs with a little glimpse into their budding relationship. I am very excited to read more!

Super cute, adorable, heartwarming, and lovely. This manga hit me as someone who pets Pomeranians at home and once petted a Rottweiler. The drawings are so pretty and the love story is also cute. I can't wait to see them together as a couple!

Thank you, NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the eARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for the e-book copy!

Pupposites Attract follows dog owners Chiharu and Kiyotaka who have a chance meeting in a park. This meeting causes both to realize how mismatched they look to others as each has dogs that don't "suit" them. Despite this, they end up becoming fast friends with romance on the horizon. I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. I think the main character's relationships with their dogs are what intrigues me. Chiharu is very stern with her dog while Kiyotaka is not. I can see this being a new lighthearted read for me and will definitely look forward to the next volume.

Very lovely story about two people and their dogs. It’s about prejudices and how getting to know each other can make you realize people, and dogs, can often be quite different from what you thought initially. I loved the loveydovey vibe in this book and I really liked that the well-behaved dog was a breed that isn’t usually pushed forward as the good dog and that the little dog that usually is pushed forward as the perfect good dog, wasn’t really in this story. Wonderfully done and I liked the artwork as well.
