A sweet and cozy story about Anais, a 38 year newly divorced, trying to fix up a small Hotel while writting her next romance novel.
This books has all the feelings and a little mystery and romance.
I really liked both the chemistry between Anais and her cusin Manon, and Anias and Noah!
I did want more Christmas vibe, but the Paris setting was perfect!

Thank you to the author, NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Yet another great book from Rebecca Raisin that once I started I could not stop. Anais has just been lumped with what looks like the most derelict hotel in Paris after her divorce but with the help of her cousin she is hoping to fix it up enough to be able to sell so she can once again focus on her writing which since the divorce has suffered and instead of fluffy romances they end up with the murder of the hero.
When Anais thinks that things cannot get any worse she has a not so nice encounter with Noah the owner of the business next door that has her bursting with anger. However all is not what it seems not only with Noah or the hotel after a surprising find one night.
As with her other novels Rebecca”s it is a light and easy read with a bit of a twist that I love to devour.
I really liked the characters in Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel. They sparked off one another, were realistic and entertaining. The plot includes a little mystery with the discovery of two more suites in the hotel than there are meant to be; one of which looks like the occupant walked out of it a hundred years ago leaving everything behind, the other locked.
Rebecca Raisin in impeccable. This is such a feel good wonderful heartwarming story. The characters are utterly charming and the plot is different and works so well
Coming off a messy divorce, romance author Anais deals with writer’s block and a derelict boutique hotel in Paris, that she inherited in the divorce. It had potential, but was overly unrealistic (completing renovations within one month, as well as completing a manuscript and starting a love affair). It was also simplistic and sentimental in an unrealistic way - all relationships were perfect, everyone agreed to everything, everything worked out. With perfect French food and French quips throughout. Too Hallmark movie for me.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the arc.
After her divorce Anais is left with only an old rundown hotel in France. Since all her money has been poured into this hotel she is determined to get it up and running and ready to sell. In renovating the hotel she finds some enlightening discoveries that lead her to also renovate herself.
A run down hotel, Christmas time and Paris!
This book has it all from beginning to end, including mystery and romance with a touch of Christmas cheer making it an enjoyable read, one not to miss at an time of the year.
Another great read from the author.
I really enjoyed this magical little Christmasy rom-com. Anais writes romantic comedy. After discovering her cheating husband she receives an old run-down hotel in Paris due to her messy divorce. She's hoping to fix and sell it, not counting on a bossy neighbor who runs a bar next door. With the help of her cousin Manon, they work together to fix up the hotel and make it a destination-worthy hotel, with a literary influence. They also work to uncover a mystery of sealed-off rooms and a mysterious author who lived and worked there.
This is the 3rd story of the authors I've read and loved. I loved the characters in the story, especially Anais's cousin Manon. She knew there were sparks between Noah the neighbor and did her best to keep pushing them together. There was also an appearance of the Cupid of Paris, from Love Letter to Paris. Overall this was a fun, cozy read for the holidays. It was published Sept 17th of this year. I'm looking forward to reading more by this writer.
Thanks to the author, @boldwoodbooks and @netgalley for this ARC
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book got off to a slow start, but I loved it so much. I have read, and enjoyed, a lot of books by this author, so I had high expectations going into reading this. It definitely lived up to my expectations!
Enjoyed it. Paris during the holidays seemed wonderful with all the markets. Parts of the book seemed to drag a bit and the constant fighting with Noah was a bit much. I do not see Noah and Anais as the perfect match. Throughout the book, there was no chemistry between the two, unless you count the constant arguing. He mansplained everything and constantly complained about everything. The skip wasn't in the right condition, the hotel is rundown, Anais's parking skills, window washing and the list goes on and on. She thought of ways to murder him in her book. The family chat was a bit ridiculous. Why do you have to ask everyone in your family if you should give your child a loan? Manon was the perfect sidekick for Anais. Plus she loved true crime and offered to get rid of Francois-Xavier for Anais. Everyone warned Anais about Francois-Xavier. She ignored all of his red flags. I enjoyed the mystery behind Suite nineteen and twenty. The Secret Library Hotel sounds like a cute place to stay, as long as Noah isn't hosting a death metal event.
Definitely recommend the book. It's a cute story and the perfect holiday read. I enjoyed the story, characters and writing style. It was great to see Lilou and Genevieve make an appearance. Look forward to reading more books by the author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Boldwood Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Is it Christmas even if I don’t have a Rebecca Raisin to make the cold and dark nights warmer, I’m a huge fan of Rebecca’s books and I always recommend them to fans of romance or an entertaining and addictive story, Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel falls into both of these categories.
Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel is such a magical read, I was overjoyed by how festive it made me feel and I was sad to put it down, Rebecca writes so beautifully and I was so drawn in by the seasonal joy, the secret library , yes a secret library 🥰 I loved how much this book focused on books, it was so central there’s nothing more I love than reading books than reading a character that lives literature in every form too.
I loved the mystery of the story, how it’s used to draw Anais and Noah together via a tentative truce, to friends to …… well you’ll have to read to find out ! Anas literary ideas for the hotel sound lovely and I so want to visit somewhere like this. If you’re looking for a festive story, full of mystery, romance and book love , then you’ve found you’re book, if you want a story written from the heart too, you’ve hit the jackpot in Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Christmas in Paris, what a dream come true! This book was the perfect winter cozy read. I will definitely be checking out more from this author!!
3.5 Stars for Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel by Rebecca Raisin
Okay, so Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel was definitely a cozy read that gave me all the Hallmark vibes, but with a Parisian twist. Let’s be real—Paris at Christmas? Total dream. The setting was so charming, and the descriptions of the holiday decor, the twinkling lights, and all the Parisian magic were seriously chef’s kiss.
Now, while I was all about the festive feels and cute romance moments, the pacing dragged a little bit in some parts. I found myself thinking, “Okay, can we move this along now?” But once I got past that, I was totally rooting for the main character, who was trying to find herself and open up to love again. Classic holiday rom-com vibes! 🎄💖
The supporting cast was fun and added a lot of charm, and while the romance felt predictable at times, it still delivered those sweet, heartwarming moments we all love during Christmas reads. I just wish there had been a bit more oomph, you know?
If you’re looking for an easy, feel-good holiday read that will make you want to book a trip to Paris stat, this one’s for you. Grab a hot chocolate, a cozy blanket, and get ready to escape into some Christmas magic.
3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Thank you so much for letting me read Christmas at the little Paris hotel early.
A romance writer has caught her husband being not the loyal partner she thought he was. Her life gets flipped upside down where she gets ownership of a run down hotel.
We go through the ups and downs of getting a hotel ready and learning to trust people again
This is a fantastic cozy romance with a dash of mystery. I loved it! I especially enjoyed the literary mystery that brings the overall plot together. Great writing.
Finding her husband cheating was a surprise
Then she start to realise
Just how he’ll make her pay
As in the divorce he has his way.
Instead of her beautiful flat she comes away
With a little hotel that’s in a bad way.
With funds running out it needs to pay
By being fit to open before Christmas Day.
With her cousin supporting her in this endeavour
They need to save funds and have ideas that are clever.
With a neighbour sharing comments whether wanted or not
Author Anais feels like she’s lost inside her own plot!
A surprise discovery in a closed room
Helps add mystery and feelings of doom.
Can they discover the secrets held in there
And work together, success to share?
A book lovers’ story that’s a Parisian delight
Where you hope her ex will end up in a plight
The mystery room has secrets untold
Slowly revealed as events in the story unfold.
For my copy of this book I say thank you
As I share with you this my honest review.
When Anais finds her husband in bed with the housekeeper, she requests a divorce. She is a prolific romance writer and he comes from a wealthy family. The asks for the apartment but he fights her and basically leaves her with nothing but a rundown hotel that he bought with her money. She is unable to write until she meets Noah a bar owner that did not make the best first impression. Anais and her cousin Manon are remodeling the hotel when they find something really special.
This is a great Christmas second chance love story.
Incredible writing. The story pulled me in and kept me hooked. I did sometimes feel like things weren’t explained that well and were skipped over.
But I loved it. Nice characters, aside from the ex husband, a good taster of some of the places in Paris, places I now want to visit when I’m in Paris later in the year.
I’ll be recommending this to other book lovers in my life
EXCERPT: 1 November
Opposite the Jardin du Luxembourg, on Rue de Vaugirard, you’ll find the world’s ugliest hotel. My hotel. Even the stunning Gothic architecture can’t distract from the level of disrepair evident through the window. If I squint hard, I can envisage what it will be like with a little TLC and a whole lot of euros.
Or is that just wishful thinking?
'Spoils of le divorce,' my younger cousin Manon says. Only two years separates us, but at times it feels more like decades, as if I'm ancient at thirty-eight compared to my freewheeling family member. Manon doesn't take life as seriously as I do, and I envy her ability to not give a damn whenever she comes to a fork in the road.
I let out a theatrical sigh. 'It's a disaster. An unmitigated disaster.' Not only did I lose my husband Francois-Xavier, but I also lost in the divorce proceedings and wound up with this eyesore as part of the settlement.
ABOUT 'CHRISTMAS AT THE LITTLE PARIS HOTEL': Turn a tumbledown Paris hotel into a perfect boutique, bookish retreat, and have it open for Christmas? What could possibly go wrong? When Anais receives a near-derelict Paris hotel in her divorce settlement, her first thought is to tidy it up and sell it immediately. All she wants is to move on and forget her disaster of a marriage ever happened.
But selling it proves impossible, so she has only one chance to make it gorgeous and open by Christmas… when her funds will almost certainly run out.
She’s not counting on the grumpy American bar-owner next door, Noah, coming and interfering at every moment though. Nor is she expecting to find a mysterious room – which holds the key to a one-hundred-year-old secret – about a woman who chose love against the odds.
One thing’s for sure… as the fairy lights twinkle all over the city of lights and the first snowflakes start to fall… this will be a Christmas in Paris to remember.
MY THOUGHTS: A fun story about a rom-com writer with a broken heart who gets fleeced for her earnings in a divorce settlement and gets a run-down hotel in the 6th Arondissement, complete with a grumpy neighbor, in exchange. I was entertained throughout.
Manon, the main character's cousin, almost steals the show with her zany personality and off the wall ideas for renovating the hotel. She can see the sparks that fly between Anais and Noah and takes every opportunity to throw them together. As far as Anais is concerned, the last thing she needs right now is a bossy, grumpy, opinionated man in her life, even if he is drop-dead gorgeous!
Battling dwindling finances and a looming deadline for the manuscript of her next book, of which she has not written one word, Anais is under a lot of pressure.
I loved the idea of a book themed hotel, with the rooms named after novels and a complimentary book by the same title gifted on arrival.
There is so much to like about Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel. It is a fun and heartwarming read with great characters and an inspired plot. The Parisian Christmas markets are the icing on the cake!
I haven't previously read anything by this author, but I am looking forward to reading more books by her.

A lovely summer holiday read about Anais who is renovating the dump of a hotel her ex husband left her with in their divorce. Oh yeah, the hotel is in Paris, so you already know it’s gonna be a good book. Lovely characters, Anais’ sister-like cousin and the pesky man next door. You’ll have to read the book to find out what happens. Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
