Another tear jerker, sad and heartbreaking read from Emma with such good friendships, I just love her books and she never disappoints me. It was a great family drama which kept me involved in the storyline, all the characters were believable and such a lovely ending too.

The only negative point for me personally is that I would have liked to read a little bit more about what happened to Freddie's mum but this did not deter me from enjoying this brilliant book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

The sales for tissues must be higher while reading one of Emma Robinson’s books and while I’d never really admit it, there was a tear or two. As usual the author handles what is every parent’s nightmare with sensitivity and it’s beautifully written and while it was obvious after a few chapters that the character accused of the heartbreaking incident wasn’t guilty, it did surprise me when it was revealed.

Aha, here she is again. One of my queens of tissues. Each time she makes me regret I have not bought any shares from Kleenex yet.

So yes, she does it again. She wrote another beautiful, heart breaking and heartwarming story that pulled every string of my heart.

You feel the love between a mother and her child and even though they do not always see eye to eye, which is normal, the love never fades away.

Parents always want the best for their offspring even though what they think is best does not always align with the things the children want, but they never stop loving each other.

Parenting is making sure your child gets the best things possible in life, but parenting is also letting go and allowing your children to make their own choices. And that is often the hardest part.

Turning back the clock is not possible and it's often when it's too late, you see the light...

People often have preconceptions about something or someone. Maybe it's time to let this go and take the time to open our heart and our mind.

There is only one thing I can say about this story: amazingly beautiful. 5 stars

Thank you

Well would it be a book written by Emma Robinson if it didn't leave you in tears somewhere through the book?

I loved reading Joanna, my heart broke for her and ached for a fellow parent that went through the most horrific ordeal. And the only thing she can think to do is blame one person.

Reading how all of this story plays out is an absolute pleasure. I just adored the writing and found the characters compelling and loveable. Aside from the obvious ones your meant to hate.

I thought I had it all figured out but Emma surprised me more than ever with a few twists and turns to change that perspective quite a few times.

Emma's very clever writing has you there in that moment with the characters, feeling all the feels right alongside them.

Loved every second of this book and will always continue to shout from the rooftops about Emma's writing.

This talented author has written a page turner. Realistic characters keep the story moving quickly. Red herrings kept me intrigued. What would happen next?. Family and friends…secrets…regrets…mystery..recipe for a good story. Thanks Netgalley.

Not long after loosing her husband to a brain tumour Joanna gets a knock at her door saying her daughter has been in an accident and she needs to get to the hospital. As she rushes to the hospital she is thinking about the last time they spoke when they both fell out and how she would do anything to put it all right again. When she gets to the hospital she finds her daughter is in a coma and seriously ill but the bigger shock is she’s also pregnant. As the police interview Charlottes boyfriend Joanna is convinced he is responsible as she has never trusted him and when his mother shows up things take a nasty turn. Will Charlotte and the baby pull through and what really happened on the night she was attacked?

A knock at the door, a visit from the Police telling Joanna her beloved daughter has been attacked and is in a critical condition in hospital. Charlotte's boyfriend Freddie helping Police with their enquiries. Joanna is convinced of Freddies guilt, she's never particularly felt he's good enough for her daughter and the last time she saw Charlotte they'd argued about this. And now it may be too late and its all Joanna's fault.
This book is a slight change from Emma's latest reads in the fact she's written about an older child, whos making their own way in the world but the emotions are still the same and this book has some heartbreaking moments, but also at its heart it carries a promise of love and friendships forever.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy, my opinions are my own and not expected
