The book is very interesting for children. Cody's Secret Helper is Cody's fantastic adventure with a seemingly ordinary Lego set that takes you on a journey of adventure and life lessons. I loved this book because of the great message about honesty and responsibility. Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this wonderful book.
Cody is an average boy. He loves LEGO, loved his parents, and find tidying his room boring. (I'm sure this procrastination is familiar to many.)
All this changes during a trip, after which Cody makes a discovery. And it's great! At first...
A good book for parents to read to, or with, children from preschool through elementary.
Cody's Secret Helper is a wonderful adventure for young readers, featuring Cody, a 10-year-old boy whose discovery of a magical Lego set leads him on a journey full of imagination and important life lessons. The story combines fun and moral guidance, teaching kids about honesty, responsibility, and making ethical choices. I really enjoyed how the book wraps these lessons into an engaging and whimsical adventure that keeps children entertained while imparting valuable values. It’s a great read for sparking meaningful conversations with kids.
Cody discovers a Lego creator set during a garage sale - and the mystery of insectoman who secretly starts cleaning Cody's mess unfolds.
Cody's situation will be relatable for children. It would have been nice to have one or two more situations with "insectoman" but the end made me chuckle a little and i'm sure children can make a lot of the story with their imagination. I liked how Cody learned his lesson, too.

I received an electronic ARC from BookBaby through NetGalley.
Readers will relate to Cody's situation. His room is a mess and he doesn't want to take the time to clean it up. His mom commits to a fun outing on the weekend if he follows through. To his surprise, his mom's definition of fun does not match his. They end up at a large yard sale where he buys a Lego robot kit. From here, readers see unusual things happen once the robot is built. Any mess Cody leaves is cleaned up by the time he returns. Gencheva does not directly share how this happens so readers can draw their own conclusions. I appreciate that he passes the kit along to another young boy at the end. A fun read with enough humor and mystery to hold low to mid elementary level readers.
