If You Happen To Have A Dinosaur by Linda Bailey was a wonderful read! I read this to my 4 year old and he immediately asked me to read it again. The illustrations were cute and story and sweet.

I enjoyed this hilarious picture book for kids. I work at a small private school. I think my kids will enjoy this book. The pictures are fun and goofy. I am an adult, and I enjoyed it. I look forward to reading this to my students.

Absolutely loved the illustrations! The cartoon style and interesting perspectives made for an enjoyable experience. The story is quite short and doesn't really have a consistent narrative, it just lists all the silly things you could use a dinosaur for if you had one. I don't think the book is trying to tell you an in depth story anyway - the focus is on the illustrations and keeping it light, perfect to read to your child before bed if you need something that won't take up too much time or if your kid is impatient and would rather just look at the pictures. I could see this becoming a future favourite and would love a physical copy to add to my child's collection when this book comes out!

Toddler and I loved this one! He enjoyed pointing out the different dinosaurs. It was a very cute and easy read with great illustrations and a fun storyline.

The illustrations are the star in this book asking kids what they can do with a dinosaur. The resulting suggestions come pretty standard, but the face of a tyrannosaurus as a "burglar alarm" or a triceratops charging through snow as a "snow plow" carries the story. The ending asks about what the reader could do with other wild animals, which suggests it might be a series book, the same way George O'Connor wrote "If I Had a Velociraptor" or it could be standalone.

Get this book for kids who love expressive dinosaurs and those who can't get enough of Elise Broach's "When Dinosaurs Came With Everything."

If You Happen To Have a Dinosaur is the perfect book for any young dinosaur lover! It's a creative and thought-provoking story about accepting and loving those who are different. Instead of being afraid of the differences of a dinosaur, you are taught to embrace what someone different can do that adds to your everyday life.

My sister (age 7) and I loved this book. It was silly and fun. I love that this book encourages the reader to use their imagination, especially with the ending question. I love that the illustrations are unique and don't look like every other dinosaur in a kid's book. The story flows through the seasons. This is a must buy!

*Thank you NetGalley & Penguin Random House Canada. I received this as an ARC for early review. All opinions are my own.*

I really liked this book. I thought it was super cute and my son liked it too. Imagine a world where dinosaurs are your everyday household pet, or helper around the house! There are so many things a Dino can do to make our lives easier. Unless it involves food, then they’re probably eating all of it. This book was great, I would purchase as gifts to give to friends and family.

Delightful! This book will certainly appeal to all those young dinosaur lovers out there and there are millions!
At the same time, the ending is especially important because it, undoubtedly, will stimulate young readers imaginations. What a fun book with expressive illustrations!

If You Happen To Have a Dinosaur by Linda Bailey was a fast paced, fun read. The illustrations of the dinosaurs were unique and different than what I’ve seen in other dinosaur themed books. The content of the book was silly and enjoyable, especially the seasonal aspects with the snow, rain and sun!

A whimsical, funny, rhyming book about all the possibilities you would have to use your “pet” dinosaur, what no to use them for… and a great question at the ending.

A cute story for Dino loving children! I really liked how the author posed a question and showed the critical thinking skills needed to solve it. This is something that will engage children and make them think. The illustrations were whimsical, I loved the thought behind them. The story was entertaining and comical. I can see children everywhere enjoying this story!

This book is so funny! What would you do if you had a dinosaur? This cute little picture book has a lot of practical suggestions. It would be so much fun to read with kids and then talk about all the other things we could do if we had our own dinosaur. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

This book was cute. The illustrations were colorful, fun, and engaging, but the story felt like it went on too long- trying to hard to continue the topic. I did like the ending where it opens it up to other animals and their random uses.

This was a very cute book, it reminded me of If You Give A Mouse a Cookie and those types of books. I can’t wait to get my nephew a copy!

Such a fun book! I loved what the visual artist did to do something different with the writing. The words were integrated around, yet still in conjunction with, the whimsical and unique drawings of dinosaurs, making this book very fresh. Adding onto that, I loved the variety of dinosaurs that were pictured AND focused on, and it allows readers to have a chance to learn about what they like, specifically which dinosaur(s) they like most. Lastly, the story was wildly fun, and I know that kids will absolutely adore this book. The ending was also cleverly open-ended, and it encourages kids to think up their own stories (about kangaroos) long after finishing this book.
Bravo!

If You Happen to Have a Dinosaur is an adorable and clever book that teaches creative problem solving and loving one another despite differences. The book opens with a child find a fully grown dinosaur - inside their house! Instead of being afraid, the child chooses to embrace this, looking for all the ways a dinosaur can help them around the house. Encouraging out of the box thinking, this book presents several options for what a dinosaur can get up to: cracking nuts, mashing potatoes, trimming trees, being a kite! This book explores many different dinosaur species in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Wings or feet, this book shows that every dinosaur, and therefore every person, has their strengths, and those strengths are so wonderful! This book manages to be both hilarious and meaningful, with a great message.

If You Happen to Have a Dinosaur is a clever and humourous book that models creative, out of the box thinking. The illustration style supports the humourous tone. It would be a good book to kick off a writing unit, particularly because of the ending. It would also work to introduce brainstorming and would be a good pick for an improv class in drama.
