The second in Lizzie Huxley Jones’ Christmas duology is a charming one: I read it over Christmas and it single-handedly helped me find my Christmas spirit. You can’t ask for more than that in a Christmassy rom-com!

Christopher is the older brother of Kit, the romantic heroine of Make You Mine This Christmas. At the end of that novel, Christopher reveals his true passion in life is baking…. And woohoo! We meet him in the opening chapters of Mistletoe preparing for Christmas in his very own little bakery. It hasn’t been easy, though - Christopher is broke, missing his friends, and more than a bit lonely. So when he’s snowed into his little apartment for Christmas it’s a disaster… until he discovers that he’s snowed in with Nasha Nadeau, the star of all his favourite Christmasssy rom-coms on Netflix.

The premise is a little silly, yes, but it’s a Christmas romance! Don’t worry about it! Worry instead about the fact that Nash and Chrstgopher kind of hate one another, at least to begin with. I don’t read a lot of enemies to lovers' romance but this one did a great job. Nash and Chrstipher just… get under one another’s skin, which is how the trope works best, i think! But that changes as they have to work together to help the small Welsh town they’re in through the worst snowstorm it’s seen in years. Yes, you know it - they have to come together to save their beloved town! It’s a Christmasssy trope bonanza, and I loved every second of it.
Lizzie writes chemistry between lovers so well, and Chrstopher and Nash are no exception. The book does lean into insta-love a little bit, especially towards the end, but you know what? I didn’t mind; Hux has created a better, more generous world in this book. If a trans guy can be a Netflix romance star, why can’t that same guy fall madly in love in less than a week? Fuck it, it’s Christmas!

Lizzie’s writing is undeniably charming and cosy — everything you’d want to read during the holidays snuggled up under a blanket with the Christmas lights on.

Starting off with the run-up to Christmas, we see Christopher getting ready for the festive season with his sister — a welcome familiar face from Lizzie’s previous Christmas tale, who I was so excited to see again. You don’t need to have read it to understand this one but it’s beautiful so I’d recommend it.

UTMWY is a beautiful queer romcom with characters you fall in love with - Lizzie plays with classic romcom tropes and truly makes it their own, offering the familiar comfort of enemies-to-lovers, the classic romcom misunderstandings, grumpy/sunshine plot points that we all love with a unique, warm, festive flair that never fails to impress.

I absolutely loved this festive read which is a follow on from Make You Mine This Christmas. Christopher and Nash were such a disaster but the sparks flew and the sex is really hot.

What a wonderfully magical romcom. I had high hopes for this after loving book 1 so much and this did not disappoint.

Snowed in with your favourite Christmas romcom star? You could not dream a more perfectly adorable plot. Both Nate and Christopher were as charming as the Welsh community they found themselves in.

Perfect for anyone searching for some holiday magic.

Christopher has closed up his shop ready for the festive period and to go and be with his loved ones. He's rented out his flat but then it all goes pear shaped due to bad weather and he can't get to where he needs to be. Which means that he will need to share the flat with the person coming to stay. He thinks it is a woman, but it is actually his favourite actor, Nash Nadeau. Christopher doesn't want to let on what a big fan he is.

They initially rub one another up the wrong way but for me it turned into the perfect festive read.

Christopher is about to close up his bakery in Wales for the Christmas, renting out his flat above while he travels to his sister's house for the holidays. A massive snowstorm however changes this, with Christopher unable to travel. He is surprised that the person who is to rent his flat has made it through the storm and even more surprised to discover it's his favourite actor Nash Nadeau! Nash has travelled to Wales to escape his agent and new contract negotiations. With the country at a standstill, Christopher can't leave and Nash has nowhere else to stay, forcing the two to share Christopher's tiny flat. After starting off on the wrong foot, can these two get along or will it be a nightmare Christmas?

I loved Lizzie Huxley-Jones' last Christmas book, Make You Mine This Christmas, which also features Christopher in a supporting role. If you plan on reading that one, I would suggest picking it up first before this one as it will spoil the plot.

Under the Mistletoe with You very much fit in with a Hallmark movie kind of story, with the arrival of a big Hollywood movie star. But it's fantastic to see a book with a m/m romance follow the tropes of Hallmark style story, which definitely needs more queer representation. There's even more in this as Nash is a trans man, which isn't made to be a big deal or central focus of the plot. I loved that it was just a fact that gets dealt with by both characters and isn't something we see Nash agonising over disclosing.

While the romance is cute (enemies to lovers with some forced proximity), to me the highlight is seeing Christopher build up a community in the town. It's a pity his friends that we meet in book one don't feature much, due to the nature of the storm, but seeing him make friends and branch out in his new town is so heartwarming, adding to the festive cheer and season of goodwill. It's always great to have a small town feature in a Christmas book!

While I did prefer Make You Mine This Christmas, this was still a solid book and possibly one of my favourite festive reads for this year. I hope we see another Christmassy book from the author, as I will snap it right up if there is!

Thos is my second festive read by the author Lizzie Huxley-Jones and this one relates to several if the characters from the first. A snow storm, scuppered plans and a netflix heart throb, what more could you want?
This author is incredibly inclusive and intersperses her work with a diverse cast of characters.

This was a very cute and cosy book, and the perfect read for the holiday season. When I first requested it, I didn't realise it's connected to the author's first novel, but it was definitely an added bonus - as was the fact that the novel was set in Wales. We need more Christmas romcoms set in Wales!!

I found both the MCs very loveable, and their banter quite amusing, even if the Brit/American divide was overexaggerated at times.

The cast of supporting characters is also top-notch, and I'm really hoping we get a third book set in the same world.

Under The Mistletoe With You by Lizzie-Huxley Jones is an incredibly sweet and amazing Christmas romance that everyone should read! I now need a Christmas romance from Lizzie every year because they've been the highlight of my festive season.

I loved Christopher's character in Make You Mine This Christmas so was really happy to see more of him living his dream of baking. I really loved watching him grow as a character and I loved that while this was a romance novel, it also was about Christopher feeling at home in Wales and becoming more integrated with his fellow towns people.

Nash was a fantastic character who I quickly grew to love. The spark between Christopher and Nash was perfect and I loved watching them get to know each other.

I loved the representation in this one and loved the side characters so much. Shaz is amazing and I loved seeing characters from the first book holds important roles in this one!

Under The Mistletoe With You is the perfect book to curl up with this holiday season. Not only is the romance adorable but it shows the importance of community, friendship and helping those in need.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a super cute, festive romance. I love all the inclusivity and diversity in the book; from various queer characters on various points of their journeys to multiple disabled characters and characters of various ethnicities.
If you are looking for representation of marginalised characters, this is the book for you this year. However, if you want a well written, unique story, this is probably not it. I did really enjoy this one, but for the diversity rather than the plot.

I utterly adored this book. I admit Nash took a while to warm to me, as I found his personality rather brash at the beginning of the book. However, he really warmed to me later as his personality softened. Also, did you know Nash is Canadian?

While the one bed x forced proximity x celebrity romance was GREAT, there were so many other facets of this book I enjoyed more. I absolutely loved the community care aspect. Watching the whole town come together to support each other through the storm when their plans went 180 was so wonderful to read. I loved meeting the other residents of Pen-y-Mor and seeing their camaraderie.

Nash's experiences with seizures is written so well, and I really enjoyed how respectfully that was written. As I know of Lizzie, they really wrote what they know here.

Nash being trans was very much not made a big deal, but I also think the discussion of this came a little too late in the book.

This was such a lovely, festive story. Lizzie is fast becoming a Christmas must have on my shelves.

Lizzie Huxley-Jones writes THE best Christmas romcoms. I adored Kit and Haf's story and I loved getting to see them, and Christopher again in this book.

Christopher is so very sensible and by the book, and I loved seeing his life turned upside down in a chaotic way when his favourite actor appears to stay in his flat, just as they are all stranded by a snow storm. Christopher finds Nash unbearable and rude at first, and Nash thinks Christopher is very uptight.

I loved watching them both have to work together to help out the local community during the snow. The perfect backdrop for a budding romance.

Under the Mistletoe With You is a gorgeous, funny and heartwarming Christmas story with plenty of laughs out loud moments and some really lovely characters.

I'll be reading this and Make You Mine This Christmas every Christmas from now on.

I am a Christmas hater, but a Lizzie Huxley-Jones enthusiast, so it says a lot about this absolute treat of a book that it was so delightful that it warmed even my cold, dead, Grinch-y heart.

Like its predecessor, Under the Mistletoe with You is an absolute delight to read. It's so lovely, perfectly blending humour and complex emotion. Alongside our main duo (who are both expertly formed), the novel features a wonderful supporting cast - both those we met in Make You Mine This Christmas, and the townies.. There's a great mix of people, all with their own backstories and mini-plots, and I found them all engaging. The first village committee scene was hysterical, and very accurate. I was worried about pacing, and where the plot might go, towards the ending - but I need not have feared. The final scene made me giddily happy, and very ready for the festive season.

This was such a sweet Christmas romance! Nash, an actor hiding out in wales ends up stranded and having to live with Christopher, who can’t leave like he planned due to the snow. Cue chaos. Christopher pretending he has no idea who Nash is despite his movies taking up most of his watched list and a budding romance between the two of them.
I absolutely flew through and would have happily read even more from them. There was a great supporting cast of characters and a lot of representation; m/m, bi, trans, disability.
Highly reccomend!

Under the Mistletoe with You is a heartwarming romance that celebrates the importance of community spirit and caring for those around you. I’d say my main take away from the book would be the community element but the romance was also very sweet.

I had no idea that this is technically a sequel. You definitely don’t need to have read the first book to enjoy this one but it does include the same characters.

There isn’t a lot about Under the Mistletoe with You that is overly festive, but for once that doesn’t annoy me. The community spirit more than made up for the lack of Christmassy activities. This book is packed full of heartwarming moments and like all books with a close knit community, made me wish I lived in a small town.

I adore the fact that Nash is trans and is also a Hollywood rom-com heartthrob. Imagine living in a world where that’s the norm. The LGBTQIA+ representation was incredible in Under the Mistletoe with You. Pretty much every character was queer and there wasn’t any homophobia, which I’m so tired of reading about in queer books. So thank you Lizzie Huxley-Jones for writing a LGBTQIA+ story that is happy and actually celebrates queer people!

The disability representation was also great. It’s so rare to have a book told from the perspective of someone with a disability and then also have side characters with disabilities too. The detailed explanation of Nash’s seizures really helped me understand his character better. It also developed my knowledge on what a seizure could be, so that’s a positive.

The ‘insta love’ between Nash and Christopher wasn’t my favourite part of this book as falling in love in just a few days isn’t entirely realistic. However, as this book was on the slightly longer side for a romance, it didn’t feel like it happened too quickly. Plus they did spend every minute of every day together so it was realistic that they’d build a strong connection in that time.

However, I did really like both Nash and Christopher. I’m glad Nash drops the actor stereotype very quickly and Christopher’s slightly cautious nature around new people is something I can relate with a lot. Their back and forth banter was so funny and showed that spark of chemistry really well. The forced proximity helped with this.

The side characters were also brilliant. The whole ‘spanks’ squad featuring Christopher’s sister and ex girlfriend, and his two other best friends were so funny. I loved the sections that showed their Whatsapp group chat. It was pure chaos but also provided a great change of pace. Shaz was hilarious and her love of gingerbread was so relatable.

Although it’s not massively festive, I’d still definitely recommend Under the Mistletoe with You. There are so many sweet and funny moments, and if you’re looking for a great queer festive romance, this is the book for you.

A lovely read for the Christmas of 2024 full of lovely characters and it's truly a feel good read .
It has humour and romance through the book.

I absolutely adore Lizzie Huxley-Jones' writing and this one is another win! I initially read Make You Mine This Christmas because one of the characters has the same disability as me (hello fellow Zebras) and we love to see representation, but what kept me reading was the fantastic storytelling, and this instalment is no different!

I'm an absolute sucker for a forced proximity romance and what better than an Christmas time snow in with your gorgeous crush?!
