Once again Laura knocks it out the park with her small town romances.
I didn’t expect for Nash’s book to be my favourite of this series but it absolutely was. I adored everything about the book and loved that Nash and Beefcake got the best HEA with Emerson.
The vibe in this story was so good, whilst I loved Nash and Emerson it was Cutler that stole the show. I loved the humour this kid provided was the best entertainment.
The romance between Nash and Emerson was a dream full of swoon, love and laughter. It was great watching his personality go from grump to sunshine.

I hadn’t read from this author before or this series but I really enjoyed it. It was an easy read involving a single dad and a doctor. I would say if you are a fan of Elsie Silver, you would love this book. 🩺💗

this was chefs kiss 🤌🏼

This was my first book by Laura Pavlov and it 100% won’t be my last. Emerson ‘Sunny’ and Nash had me kicking my feet giggling I absolutely adored their dynamic from the very start. Both characters found themselves while also finding each other and it honestly was so beautiful. I adored little Beefcake he was adorable and made me tear up a few times with how much he loved Sunny and Nash.

I love me a good single dad trope and this was perfection !!!

Well Magnolia Falls is a series I now have to read. This is the first book I’ve read by Laura Pavlov - you don’t have to have read the previous books in the series as enough context was given. I’ll definitely be going back to read the other 3books now though.

I’ve loved reading Nash and Emerson’s story despite the rocky start they healed each other. Beefcake is great - I hope he gets his own story.

Thank you to NetGalley for ARC - I really enjoyed Beating Heart.

Nash Hearts one goal in life since the day his son was born was to be the best dad possible for him. He’s a single dad and he’s not looking for any additions or complications to his family. Then enters Emerson, the town's new paediatrician, she’s gorgeous, brilliant, and she’s just had her heart broken by more than one ex.

This book was the first I’d read by this author and it’s the first time I’ve heard of her. When a book is part of a series I have my own set of rules and that’s to always start with the first book of the series. For this book I broke my own rules, heading into the series on book 4. It gave me enough about previous couples but didn’t spoil too much for me either. I loved reading Nash and Emerson’s story and how much they both grow both as a couple and personally. It’s always the kids that catch on the heart strings the most in these single dad romances. Cutler aka beefcake would make me tear up with some of the conversations he would have with Emerson. For a six year old he’s an old soul and has some great one liners and loves his girls.
This book gave me major Hart of dixie vibes and it’s really made me want to watch it all over again, so for the foreseeable I will be rewatching Hart of dixie and catching up with the rest of this series.

I have no idea where to start! OMG this book was a 5 star anticipated read of mine and boy it didn not dissapoint in the slightest!! I read this in two sittings I was absolutely addicted and Laura's written just drags you right on into the story making you unable to put the book down. I am an absolute sucker for small town and found family books and i cannot wait to dive into the rest of Laura's works. I have already found myself recommending this to so many people

I absolute loved this book. This is a single dad romance and are one of my favourite types of books I just loved Nash and Cutler in this and the relationships in this book are amazing. I cannot wait to carry on reading the rest of this series

This story is really sweet but the main characters lack any depth and there is no character growth. Nash hates Emerson when he first encounters her at his kid's doctors office, where she's recently joined to take over from the original doctor who wants to retire. He's a dick to her for no reason other than no one told him there was a new doctor starting. Then the next second he finds out she's moving in next door and he loves her.

The writing and dialogue was really cheesy and quite cringy at times, particularly the writing for Coulter, also known as Beefcake, Nash's son. He's 6yrs old but talks like he's much older and an old school player. Though he was probably actually my favourite character in the whole story - no 6yr old talks like that!

It's the 4th book in the Magnolia Falls series but it's standalone and it's not necessary to read the first books, though there are some spoilers around the previous couples.

Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

I may not have read any other in the series before this one but I will be now! It is not required for previous books in this series to be read first, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything major by starting with this one.
I really enjoyed this small town romance and was pleased to experience the single dad route who certainly was the grumpy in the first meeting but these two main characters have their own paths that don’t necessarily lead to one future path and how they navigate their relationship and future is spicy, fun and so enjoyable

I received this book as an ARC through NetGalley and provide my honest opinion

If you’re looking for a cutesy end of summer/autumnal read then this is ideal. Beating heart is part of the Magnolia Falls series but can be read as a stand alone.. and trust me. It can. I didn’t clock it was a series until I got to the epilogue so I will definitely be backing it up to start from the first book.

Beating heart is your classic hot single dad, neighbours to lovers, small town romance. I found this so heartwarming and lovey dovey. It got me all up in my feels! 🥰

Nash and Emerson don’t exactly start off on the right foot. Emerson is the new DR in town and Nash has a poorly baba. But once the introductions are out the way their chemistry is off the charts. Adding in Nash’s son Cutler had me swooning and I’m not usually a single dad trope fan!! I loved the small town vibes, the friendships, the bonds, the LOVE!! Ugh so romantic.

For this time of year it’s the perfect cosy, warm read!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this delight! 😍

If you're looking for a new series to sink your teeth into then look no further. Magnolia Falls is the perfect small-town romance series. With swoon-worthy men, a loveable community and friendships that last a lifetime, it is truly brilliant.

Nash and Emerson are perfect for each other and I loved getting swept away in their story but the cherry on top was Beefcake! His kind but candid nature had me welling up one minute and giggling the next. He's the star of the book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have read other books in this series and this is another hit read. Love the character, finally seen into beefcakes home life and it's just really heartwarming. I especially love the new introduction of characters and neighbour town too. Just all the feels, a must read!

I just love everything that Laura Pavlov writes, but this series has got to be at the top. I had read it back when it was Indie published and I am just so happy that its been given a fresh new look. I had the pleasure of meeting Laura at a book signing in the UK last year and she truly is the sweetest soul, I couldn't be happier for her.
If you are looking for a romance that will give you all the feels, plenty of angst, and characters that you just can't help but fall in love with, then I urge you to read BEATING HEART - in fact, just read the whole series!

Ohhhhh beefcake is a national treasure and must be preserved at all costs!!

That kid has my heart I swear!

I’m a huge fan of the Magnolia Falls series and book 4 didn’t disappoint.

I don’t think you would have any problems reading this as a stand alone, they are so easy to read. But reading the series just gives so much more depth to the characters and the amazing support the friends circle gives.

I don’t think I’ve read any other books where the text conversations give me life like Laura’s, in fact she’s so good at it I sometimes cringe when other books try!! It’s such a great group chat vibe and I can only imagine this is how my other half and his mates banter on. It’s fun; supportive and serious when it needs to be, I just love it.

Emmerson and Nash’s story grows and I loved the ease they felt with each other and slipped right into each others lives. Sometimes that’s just how it is, they have situations to navigate and tough decisions to make but I loved that it just felt like very real life situations.

Also, I got a little excited at the mention of some new characters and even a little snip of other relationships brewing. Could this mean a spin off Rosewood River series???

I’ve only read the magnolia series so I need to go through the back catalogue because this author is definitely one of my faves now.

Highlights -

“He had his arms up, gripping the door frame, and his white tee lifted just the slightest bit, exposing a sliver of toned abs. I squeezed my thighs together as I tried to act unaffected.”

Note - the book boyfriend classic stance, love it!

“they’d found out that my brother was Clark Chadwick, they’d all freaked out. I was used to it. Clark was a professional hockey player, and he’d really made a name for himself the last two years.”

Note - Not me already excited new characters might mean a new book?

“That’s my brother, Slade. I think she’s crushing on him, but it’s not something I want to talk about with her just yet.”

Note - is this possibly another storyline? Just me wanting Magnolia Falls to never end!

“Have none of you heard the rule, don’t shit where you eat?” Ruby asked. “I’ve heard it, but I can’t really wrap my head around the meaning,” Demi admitted, which was a call for more laughter. “Agreed. It’s a stupid saying.” Peyton threw her hands in the air. “Plus, she can eat at home and go next door to take a shit.”

“I’m thinking that you’re fucking beautiful. Even if I just get to look at you for a short time, I’ll take it.”

An easy read small town single dad romance. I’ve not read any of the others in the series but I was still able to follow without feeling like I’d missed something. But if we’re honest the star of the book had to be Beefcake!

A small town single dad romance. Really liked the characters and how this was written. If you’re a fan of Elsie silver, I feel like you’d enjoy this (although there is less spice but that doesn’t affect it!). Nash will defo be your next book boyfriend

Small town romance? Check.
Single dad? Check.
Found family? Check.

3 of my all time favourite tropes combined into one adorably lovable story. I absolutely love the way the characters are written - Nash and Emerson have such a captivating attraction and their connection is depicted beautifully. Laura Pavlov knows exactly what she’s doing and hits the nail on the head every time.

If you’re looking for a cosy, small town romance, this one’s for you. Thank you once again to NetGalley for the ARC!

Summary

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5/5

Spicy rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 2.5/5

Fluff rating: 💖💖💖3.5/5

I think this is my new favourite Laura Pavlov book! I adored this one and couldn’t put it down. She is an absolute queen when it comes to small town romance!

I feel like I’ve been waiting for Nash and Cutler to find love for so long and I’m so so happy with how their story played out. Honestly Cutler aka beefcake has been my fave character from the entire magnolia falls series and he is at his best in this book.

I loved the dynamic between Nash and Emerson and how they healed eachother throughout the book despite their rocky start. Emerson was such a beautifully written character, both relatable and someone to aspire to be.

Nash is well and truly the new fictional single dad book boyfriend on the scene ready to swoop in and steal everyone hearts 🩶 and praise be to the queen for not giving us a 3rd act break up! I will forever love authors who bin off the 3rd act break up in favour of different drama focused points.

It was pretty low stakes and low angst and perfect for that sizzling summer romance book vibe when you just want to get lost in a beautiful love story.

I really loved this one!

It might not sound like a big praise but I loved how mature the characters were. You had Nash who was so devoted to Beefcake (btw what a fun nickname!!) but was also an incredible friend and partner. I loved the way he set boundaries and took care of his loved ones.

I loved how intelligent and caring Sunny was with Beefcake and how real her emotions were. Also, Beefcake might be the cutest and one of my favourite children in a single parent book.

Also I read this book without reading the rest of the series and I felt completely fine during it, so they truly are interconnected but you don't have to read them in order - of course spoilers are included for previous books and couples.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for this ARC and well done Laura for an amazing book!
