Billionaire’s Secret Baby : Brothers Best Friend Romance by Jennifer Hartley.
This book is a romance with a lot of tropes. Some include second chance, brothers ex best friend, billionaire, and a secret pregnancy.
Starting this book, I was really excited to see how this would work out. How a rich billionaire would come to a farm and work for free, hard labor at that. I wanted to enjoy this book, but it totally missed the mark for me. The story had quite a bit of problems from beginning to the end.
For the most part, the storyline seemed pretty unrealistic—it's hard to believe that a young billionaire would just up and decide to work on a farm with no cell service or amenities that he is accustomed too . That whole setup felt like a stretch and made it tough for me to get into the story. I could not connect with the plot at all, poor rich boy wants a farm vacation, meets his ex, swears he’s changed but continues the same behavior . The main character’s shock at being pregnant felt ridiculous as well as a Dr saying she’s in great condition, but can’t tell she’s pregnant. The book also had a lot of errors—spelling mistakes, grammar issues, and some awkward phrasing. This entire storyline seems impossible with a man that has been down right horrendous to her on two incidents, telling her once that he didn’t want a waste of space freeloader, and the second time he betrayed her to her brother and told her to be with him she must go back to the family that treats her like dirt. He’s mega rich. and from going to a farm he’s now super boss, and has changed so much, and so shortly after their second break up. I don’t want to give spoilers so I will keep some more problems with the book out. I had very high hopes for this book buy it was horrible. It needs a complete overhaul, rewriting and removing points. This was definitely a no for me. I felt the book had potential and I liked some points, which is why it’s a 2 1/2 for me

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. Overall I enjoyed it but I can’t help but think the book should have a different name. The title gives the impression that this is going to have higher stakes but really it’s just miscommunication and changing everything to be with someone. I didn’t like that Andre didn’t even flinch or care that lily hadn’t told him she was pregnant for 6-7 months and honestly, who ignores someone for 6-7 months, keeping a massive secret only to say yes to marriage because he planned a whole life behind her back.
The book had good bones but I feel like another 50 pages would flush out some of the conversations.

"Billionaire's Secret Baby" is a steamy read about a forbidden romance. The main character has always had a crush on her brother’s best friend, who’s now a wealthy and powerful guy. Even though she knows getting involved with him could cause major drama with her brother and possibly break her heart, she can’t resist. Things get even more complicated when she ends up pregnant after their passionate night together. This book, the first in the Bad Boy Billionaire series, promises a hot romance with a guaranteed happy ending, but be ready for some strong language and steamy moments.

I really wanted to like this book, but it honestly felt like it was more about her working on the farm than it was about the actual romance. And the abrupt change in personality felt kind of "too good to be true". Overall it was just too far fetched for me to get really sucked in.

I wanted to love this but it was just ok. The storyline was far fetched. I didnt believe the MMC was a millionaire and decided to work on a farm. I just couldnt get into it. I guess anything can happen and its fiction so it doesnt have to be realistic, but Id like it to sort of be feasible. Not the case. Would not recommend.

I really wanted to like this story but it just wasn't for me.

It seemed far fetched that someone so young could be a millionaire.... I did love the family on the farm but I just could never attach to this storyline.

Thank you NetGalley for providing this ARC for my honest review.

I love the idea behind this story, the writing could use some work. It just seems very juvenile and I feel like it needs some editing. Great idea, poor execution.

Andre was rich and powerful but not happy. A friend suggested he go to Rosemary Farm to work and renew himself. Lilly and Andre dated in high school, but when they were off to different colleges, Andre broke up with her. Lilly’s family was rich and constantly asked her to join them in the family business. She needed to get away from them and chose to work at Rosemary Farm. Andre had no idea she was there working but in no time, they rekindled their relationship until Lilly refused to leave the farm and Andre returned to New York City. I loved the family Lilly found on the farm. The work was hard but offered a chance to feel productive. Her simple life was so rewarding. This book is a testament that money cannot buy happiness and people can change.

A perfect romance, Lilian runs from her family to live her own life, to be outdoors and to be able to make her own decisions without forever being told that she is wrong or worthless. The farm that Lilian flees to acts as a balm. She is nurtured by the weather and by kind people, the book manages to convey a real feeling of peace and tranquility. The horses comfort and weaving their manes is therapeutic, pushing wheel barrow is calming and living a simple life is made so very attractive. The book is helped along by the sexy Andre who makes so many mistakes but is just about good enough for her. A cheesy romance with such a large dose of goodness.

Let’s be honest, any change a woman experiences in their body, their mind goes to them being pregnant. So it was unbelievable that the main character was unaware.

Billionaire’s Secret Baby, written by Jennifer Hartley, is the first title in the Bad Boy Billionaire series.

Format: NetGalley ebook
Genre: Contemporary fiction, Romance
Overall score:⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice level:🌶️🌶️

Andre (MMC)

Lillian (FMC)

Andre and Lillian were high school sweethearts that went their separate ways after graduation. Andre is also the best friend of Lillian’s brother.

Now that the main characters are grown, they have been reunited at a ranch getaway retreat. They are both trying to escape their lives and the daily struggles they encounter. Andre with his job, Lillian with her demanding brother and absent parents.

Overall, this book was just okay. The relationship between the main characters felt forced. The way that the FMC was treated by her family was just gross.

The situations in the book were just a little hard to believe, she even went to the doctor when she felt sick and he told her that she was in perfect health. Every woman knows that the first thing every single doctor does to females is make them take a pregnancy test. 🙄

No cheating or OW/OM drama, slight third act breakup but resolved in the end for a happily-for-now.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this title.

I like the concept of getting away from the city and learning more about yourself and what makes you happy. I felt the connection between the characters leaned on them dating previously and didn't feel the connection and growth between them as much as I wanted.

I wanted to like the book, but alas... There were many errors- spelling, grammar, word choice- just poorly written with a bad plot.

Meh. Two over privileged people who fall in love. One wishy washy heroine and a young billionaire (a little unbelievable at 25) meet at a farm and love explodes

Solid second chance romance between opposites who discover maybe not so opposite after all. Strong on self discovery and found family with characters you will root for.

This book was a quick read packed with a bit of heat! The story was choppy at times but you could tell Andre and Lillian actually liked each other! Overall, an okay read!

Thanks NetGalley for an ARC!

This was definitely the kind of book that gets your pulse racing! Lillian and Andre were just made for each other, I really enjoyed this read, it was short and sweet with the perfect amount of spice for the kind of story it is! I read this in one sitting and was hooked from the start!
