I have a hard time critiquing this book because although it is cliché much of the time, isn’t that why we read romance novels? I enjoyed the characters and their unique personalities. I am a teacher so I appreciated a teacher/principal main character and can definitely sympathize with her mission. However, the premise of starting a football team and having games scheduled all in the span of three weeks was a bit far-fetched, as was the result of the first game. As a realist, I struggle with unrealistic plot lines, but again, ROMANCE NOVEL. This book has a really lighthearted feel while also touching on more serious, personal issues. It’s steamy, but the romantic relationship doesn’t dominate the entire book which I appreciate. Everyone loves a jock with a dark past who is also a nice guy so I would say this is a solid pick for romance lovers.

Thanks to NetGalley and Amy Andrews for the Arc.

Although this was advertised as a cute “ strangers to lovers” romance, it wasn’t quite. The couple knew each other from highschool ect.
I found the bullying and … for lack of a better term “ slut shaming” to be a bit much. And quite off putting to be honest.
And for me, the Taylor swift references were a bit much ( she’s everywhere these days…. I don’t need it in my romance books).
Over all, cute story, but, it wasn’t it for me. I found the writing to be mediocre, and the focus on her mother’s history to be a bit off putting.

This book wasn’t what I expected to be and depending on the reader that may be a good or bad thing.

Despite the title and the main male character being a football player you’ll find little to no blondie in sight. Which is fine however I think it may be a little misleading to a certain audience.

I had a hard time with a main character who had a lot or problems and hurdles to overcome but I still somehow felt like I didn’t know her.

The beginning you’re given little context as to why the events are unfolding the way they are, you’re not sure what she is running from confused about why THIS man? You slowly get this answers later but by then I was already confused and not feeling an emotional connection to Ella.
I love the idea of two more mature characters who have pasts and both have a mural feeling of being misunderstood. I liked some of their banter and there were moments of good chemistry I just wish that could have been sustained throughout.

Many thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own

Dear Reader,
For the proud Swiftie, this book is a delightful read. Where else would you find these tropes:

🏈 A Corona-loving golden retriever MMC who's the former tight end for Kansas City
🏈 A nerdy school principal FMC that gives off smart but neurotic librarian vibes
🏈 Burbon chugging sassy old ladies from the circus
🏈 A whole bunch of stray dogs

Ella is the principal of the small town run down Deluca High. When her school is under threat of being closed down due to budgetary issues, in swoops Travis Kelce Jake Prince, a disgraced NFL tight end who wants absolutely nothing to do with coaching a high school football team to save the school.
Jake's the anti hero from Ella's past, and Ella has been nothing but trouble since she walked back into Jake's life.
But as Jake reluctantly takes on the role of Coach and slowly but surely gives Deluca the big reputation it needs to stay afloat, Ella knows all too well that resisting him will be next to near impossible.

Soon Deluca is on a winning streak, and based on Aunt Iris' tarot cards, Jake and Ella have to put their pasts and fears aside if they have any chance of fulfilling the prophecy.

This book was a quick-paced rom com that checked all the books for a made-for-tv feature: humor, quirky and lovable cast, cute love story and a satisfying end. One of the issues I had was that this story was based in the US but the language was very British/Aussie (mate, footy, etc). While there was nothing groundbreaking in this book, it was a very enjoyable and satisfying read!

I couldn’t do it. I tried. But this book was just not for me. I read a ton of sports romance books. But I just didn’t like this one at all. I don’t think this author is for me.

Ella's family life was an embarrassment to her, growing up in a small town, where everyone knew everyone else's business. So she picked up and left as soon as she could and pursed a life in academia. She's now a principal at a small school. At her mother's death, she was shocked to learn that she had a half brother who was already a teenager.

She had a relationship with Jake before their lives took different forks. He's now a retired NFL player. When her school is threatened with closure, she gets a crazy idea to create a football team to improve moral and to get the school some publicity. She turns to Jake.

But all is not rosy and their personal secrets are threatened to be exposed. Can their budding relationship and their reputations survive?

This is a steamy book so it might not be for every reader, but I completely enjoyed it.

I couldn’t put this book down. It sucked me in. I enjoyed the back history to these characters. It showed where they came from. Just a fun read. I’ll have to find more from this author.

I fell for the trap of this title and feel deeply disappointed. This book has nothing to do with Taylor and Travis except the MMC is a retired football player and was number 87, but I don’t think that really counts for anything. I thought the story was fine, but nothing special, and it’s relying entirely on the title to gain an audience.

Look What You Made Me Do was a quick cue romance but it had it's flaws. I really enjoyed the base story however the writing made it difficult to enjoy fully at times. The same is true for some of the storyline especially those centered around the issues the school was having. However I did like the banter and dynamic between Ella and Jake. It was funny and entertaining but I wished more backstory would have been given. Ella specifically says that Jake kissing her at homecoming was life changing for her, but we never learn why. Was it just because someone saw beyond her Rachel's daughter title or.was it something else. While the story was fun and eventually a quick read it may not be one that I immediately reach to read again

Look What You Made Me Do is a one night stand to lovers, opposites attract, childhood crush, sports (American football) romance. I was thankful for a story with people closer to my age for a change, as most contemporary romances I read now are people in their early twenties. The thirties club is still cool too! There was some sensitive content throughout the book so readers should be aware of those before partaking!
Ella and Jake’s story was full of self-exploration, personal growth, grit, and determination. So much love for their friends and family was poured through the pages and it was beautiful to see so much compassion. I’m a sucker for a good underdog as well, so Deluca High found a soft spot in my heart and took up residence there.
There were quite a few turns of phrase and language choices that just simply wouldn’t be used by an American. A number of them happened during important moments so it caused the flow of the story to be interrupted a fair amount and it fell a bit flat for me.
I did enjoy seeing multiple generations of characters holding such focal roles throughout the story. It lent itself to feeling more developed overall which helped me get past some of the language usages a bit! I also loved seeing a man with emotional intelligence below the age of 40! That’s rare! 🤣

The Look What You Made Me Do is an absolutely captivating read that left me spellbound from beginning to end.

The protagonist, is a beautifully complex character whose journey of self-discovery and courage resonates deeply. Her growth throughout the story is both believable and inspiring, making her a heroine you can’t help but root for. The supporting characters are just as well-crafted, each bringing their own unique charm and depth to the narrative.

The plot is filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had figured out what would happen next, the author skillfully surprised me. The themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the fight between good and evil are woven seamlessly into the narrative, adding layers of meaning that will leave readers pondering long after they turn the last page.

Overall, this book is a must-read for fantasy lovers. I can’t wait for the next installment!

The book Look What You Made Me Do by Amy Andrews begins on a sad note with Headteacher Ella Lucas in grief over the demise of her mother, who had a dark past. She's not only in grief but also angry at the people in her town who keep gossiping about her mother and associate her with the dark past. Determined to get rid of it, she moved away, only to come back to her mother's funeral and find out that she had a teenage brother. Similarly, football star Jake Prince also hails from that town, but with a different dark past. They find each other again while both trying to get rid of their dark past, which refuses to go away, no matter what. With their complicated history, a school to save, and the sparks between them, who knows what the future holds? Find this out in the book Look What You Made Me Do by Amy Andrews.

I like Ella and Jake as characters and how strong and determined they are despite their difficult pasts. I additionally like the spirit in the boys and the inner strength they finally find despite their humble backgrounds; they fight very hard for their place in this world, which is a good thing.

I don't like how the beginning of the book seems shallow. Some readers can be put off but will catch up with the momentum later on.

I rate this book, Look What You Made Me Do by Amy Andrews, 4 out of 5 stars for the above reasons.

I recommend it to those readers who love books with immense life lessons. This story is about pulling out of life's unfortunate circumstances that most people find themselves in and deciding to get on top of it all, accepting what cannot be changed, taking the opportunities that the same life presents, and making the best of them.

A small town spicy sports romance is everything I love and this book checked all those boxes. It was well written, the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I also really loved that it focused not just on the relationship between Ella and Jake, but their relationships with other people. Forming those friendships for Jake, and reinforcing the relationships she already had for Ella.

Really cute really quick read that I think anyone who loves sports romance will love.

Look what you made me do is the first book I read by this author.

I enjoyed reading this romance, it was different from the usual sport romance where the MMC saves the FMC or one is the good one and the other is the bad one. In this book the characters are not morally grey but are actually human, they make mistakes, they are arrogant, they have their own opinions and you can easily relate to them. All of the relationships in the book are well written, I enjoyed the family ones the most instead of the actual romance one, I really liked the relationship between the FMC and her brother (I think the angry teenage boy was really well described).

I also liked that the plot was divided between the romance and what else was happening in Ella´s life.: the importane of her job, her past and also her relaltionship with her brother.

Compared to most other romance books, the spice in this one was minimal, the plot was acutally good enough without it.
I wil for sure read other books by this author 😊

Thank you to netgalley and Boldwood publishing for the opportunity to read this eArc in exchange for my honest review.

I love a good sports romance. This one was easy to read and get hooked to the characters. Great growth for all of them as well. I was especially pleased with Ella and Cams growth together and individually. I also appreciated that the Demons weren't magically amazing players they worked hard and won because of that hard work and determination as well as the support from the adults.

If your wanting a quick feel good sports romance I definitely recommend this book! Also there was good spice but thankfully lots of plot too.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc!

At first I was a bit unsure about this book because I thought their connection was going to solely physical which I’m not a big fan of but as the story progressed, I really fell into step with the rhythm of the book and started to thoroughly enjoy what I was reading.

The dynamic was really good and the twist was also something different to what normally happens.

A solid 3.5!!
