This book was OK. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. It was a very low stakes sports romance, so it was a quick easy read. The pacing felt a little bit off, but I can't quite pinpoint how.
Also, the MCs were a bit over my limit for crass commentary (which to be fair is lower than a lot of people's - same applies to real life. Just not a fan of excessive cursing and innuendo. I prefer romance to smut. And just how long am I going to go on in this parenthesis?)

I should have listened to the stranger when she said NOT to eat the chicken kabobs. Now I'm sick and running into her once again in our hotel elevator. Now I owe her a dinner.

This book was interesting. So cute, fun and mild spice. First, I need to say my favorite character is the cleat chasing father π Big Steve will always have a place in my heart. And sweet little Lydia. π« Not Your Biggest Fan was a quick three hour read that cleaned my head from all the dark romance I read. It had quirky, cute and swoonworthy moments. All the characters were likeable. The plot was small but there. This was a first by this author but definitely not the last.

This book was hilarious! I loved Harlow and Andy, and can't wait for future books in the series to get to know more of side characters that were presented in this book. I legit found myself laughing out loud in multiple sections of the book and that is unusual for me. I found the pacing of the story to be just right, it wasn't a book where I could easily predict what would happen next, and I really liked that. This book is a must read and probably a reread too because I enjoyed it that much and will want to refresh my memory before reading future books with other characters in it.
Not your biggest fan is about two people from different backgrounds that meet by chance. Harlow is in the process of finishing a dating app. Andy is a professional football player that is trying to figure out what team he will be playing for in the next few months. Not your biggest fan was quick read. I enjoyed the characters but felt the story was very rushed. I would have enjoyed to see the characters more in the future. I look forward to reading more of this series.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters were likeable, and it was a good story! Looking forward to more from the other characters in the book!
Amazing!
I love how Harlow and Andy first met. It definitely was a unique way for a couple to meet and then go on a first date. It was a charming, heartwarming, and well-developed story that literally had me smiling throughout the book. I could not stop reading because I just couldn't get enough of Harlow and Andy.
It is a well-written book with well-developed characters that will definitely have you hooked from start to finish. I highly recommend reading this, especially if you are a big fan of sports romances.
Thank you Sara Ney and Netgalley for the copy of this book!
I liked this book. I felt like it was average aside from the fact that both characters were awkward and that was refreshing to see for once. It was good, I don't think I would ever reread it though.
I really enjoyed Not Your Biggest Fan. It was a lot of fun. The meet-hate was funny, and I loved how Andy and Harlow got to know each other in New York. The texting and everything that came after was highly entertaining. They were perfect for each other. My only issue is that this book was too short. Everything felt rushed at the end. They decided to give a relationship a try and then I never got to see that relationship blossom. That was something I wanted to see for characters I adored. Other than that, I did love this book and that's why it's getting four stars.
Sports romcoms are a big seller these days. Not Your Biggest Fan is the latest sports romance to join the arena. It scored in my book!
Ney's storytelling ability was fantastic! I loved the banter between characters. I found a new to me author and I can't wait for more! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Goofy. That's the single word I would use to describe this book.
It's a romantic comedy, with an insta love trope added in.
While it was a very enjoyable and super easy read that had me giggling. There were several moments where the writing didn't flow very well. It had me checking to see if I skipped several pages, before finding out, I did not.
I've given this book 4 stars.
Why, because it was an enjoyable romantic comedy read.
However it did go a little far at times, why I also call it goofy.
The insta love trope isn't a huge winner for me.
And finally cause of those few instances where the writing did not show a good transitions between scenes.
In conclusion, I'm sure many people will love and enjoy this book. But it was not a top read for me.
4/5 stars!!
When Harlow James, the witty small-town girl, runs into Landon "Andy" Burke, an NFL superstar, in NYC without recognizing Andy, our exciting love story slowly unfolds. After their first encounter, fate had a way of bringing them back together. After spending their last day in the city together having fun sightseeing before sharing an epic night, they realize they must return to their lives. While Harlow doesn't she'll ever see Andy again, Andy has other ideas in the works.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a super easy beach read that kept me entertained the whole time. I only had one big issue with the book and that was wishing it was longer- I wanted more of them together in the end. If you're thinking about reading this book, I'd say do it because you won't regret it!
*Thank you to NetGalley and the Author/ Publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review of the book!
This was a straightforward, dual POV, cute but also a little cringey, sports novel. Our two characters meet in a not-so meet cute way in NYC but end up having a good time together and begin to progress to more. Throughout the novel, we get to see their dynamic and relationship progress. The pacing in this novel is quite nice and there's a little bit of spice, but definitely not the spiceist. Despite this being a sports novel, the actual football part of the novel is relatively small so I don't think it should deter any readers from picking this up. I will say the writing is a little cringe-y in certain parts, particularly with our MMC's POV. It felt a little forced to come across as super bro-y and masculine, but overall still worth a read.
Not Your Biggest Fan by S. Ney, published by Montlake is a witty and fun stand alone. A beautiful sports romance with a couple that really loves their bicker and banter.
App creator Harlow and NFL star Landon couldn't be more different from each other. But karma has plans and so they run into each other - repeatedly.
Blurb: Harlow James is destined to rock the dating world. The creator of Kissmet, the app helping singles find love, sheβs in New York to secure advertisers. But the small-town girl canβt help meddling in other peopleβs business.
When she runs into a stranger at her go-to food truck, Harlow doesnβt realize heβs Landon βAndyβ Burke, the NFLβs most-wanted free agent, in town to talk contracts. She just sees a hottie about to get burned by undercooked street food. Though she tries to warn him, he shrugs her off, making a little wager instead.
In a twist of fate, Andy finds himself in the same hotel as Harlow. When she collects on their bet, they make a mind-blowingβand bed-rockingβconnection. But after the weekend, she goes home to Green Bay to her goofy dad and corgi, ready to focus everything on work again. Kissmet, however, has other ideas, when Andy knocks on her door.
I enjoyed this. I donβt think itβs for everyone. Itβs wattpad, itβs angsty new adult, itβs corny. But thatβs why I liked it! Ney is one of those authors I first picked up when I started reading again so she holds a special place in my heart. I think if you like Monica Murphy, youβll like this.
This book is a scorching hot romance with a side of sharp wit and irresistible charm. Their chance meeting and ensuing wager create a playful, fiery connection thatβs impossible to resist. The chemistry between them is electric, and their time together is packed with passion and humor. Watching Harlow and Andy navigate their unexpected spark against the backdrop of their very different lives is a delightful ride. This book is pure fun, with a perfect blend of romance, humor, and heat that will definitely leave you smiling and craving more.
Enjoyed!
This was a fun opposites attract romance with some good spice. I liked the dynamic between the characters and they had great chemistry.
Would recommend!
