This was cute! Very fluffy, but an overall enjoyable read! I wish we had gone a little bit deeper with Liz’s family and developing those storylines

Ms. Hudson is the epitome of a romcom writer, I have read the two previous books and just like those this was a hit. I am sad this is the last we’ll see of Mike Hunt and his shenanigans. I loved every one of the Moore’s siblings trials and tribulations to find love. Mike should be considered as a therapy cat. He knows how to read the room and keep everyone on their toes! I would highly suggest reading all three. Each sibling is so different in their personalities it’s fun to watch their love stories play out. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood books for this free advanced copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily

This was absolutely brilliant! Funny, steamy, with fabulous characters but also a beautiful love story and a look at family dynamics. This is the third in the Anyone But You series and just as good as the previous books. The focus this time round is on sister Elizabeth and Felix. When they initially meet they both keep their identities hidden. She’s a heiress to one of New York’s biggest family dynasties and he is a movie star who is in disguise so that he isn’t recognised. After a steamy night together things become complicated when they bump into each other on the set of Felix’s new film. Add in brother Chase’s hairless cat, other protective family members, secrets and misunderstandings plus NASA and you’ve got an hilarious spicy story that will bring a smile to your face. Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

I thought this was a very cute romance read. Felix and Elizabeth seem like a very interesting and compatible couple. I liked that Elizabeth was very down to earth despite being raised in a rich high society type family setting. She aspired to be independent of that wealth and paved her own way which I enjoyed. I love mike hunt he made the story a lot more interesting with his antics!

This was pretty cute, it made me go back and read the previous books in the series. The book is an easy read, there are some complex topics explored. I wish there was more depth to the characters, especially the MMC

Sara L. Hudson’s Anyone But The Superstar offers a fun and flirty escape into a world of Hollywood glamour, Texas heat, and self-discovery. While the novel has plenty of charming moments and sizzling chemistry between its leads, it ultimately falls short of delivering a fully engaging romance, leaving it as a decent but somewhat uneven read.

The story follows Felix Jones, a Hollywood action star trying to revamp his image by dipping his toes into romantic comedy. Known for his muscles and catchphrases, Felix (aka Johnny) is ready to prove he’s more than a shallow movie star. On the other side of the equation is Liz Moore, a former New York heiress who has spent the last year reeling from the revelation that her life was built on a lie—she isn’t the biological daughter of the man who raised her. Fleeing the chaos of her past, Liz takes up a new life in Southern Texas, only to cross paths with Felix in the most unexpected way.

Their initial meeting sets the tone for the novel’s blend of humor and heat, with their instant attraction and witty banter making for some entertaining scenes. The novel shines when it leans into these light-hearted, comedic moments—like a trip to the ER or the inclusion of a quirky hairless cat. Hudson has a talent for writing funny, slice-of-life moments that bring levity to the story and keep it from taking itself too seriously.

The chemistry between Felix and Liz is clear from the get-go, but their connection remains somewhat surface-level. While there’s plenty of sexual tension and a few steamy moments, the deeper emotional connection between them doesn’t develop as naturally as it could. Felix’s journey to shed his “superstar” image and Liz’s search for self-discovery are compelling on their own, but their individual character arcs don’t always intertwine meaningfully with their budding romance. As a result, the relationship feels rushed at times, and readers may find themselves wanting more emotional depth.

One of the novel’s strengths is its exploration of identity. Both Felix and Liz are grappling with major life changes—Felix with his desire to be taken seriously as an actor and Liz with her complicated family history. Their personal growth is woven throughout the story, and Hudson touches on themes of self-worth, reinvention, and the struggle to escape preconceived notions. However, these themes don’t always feel fully fleshed out, as the romance sometimes overshadows the more introspective aspects of their journeys.

The setting—Southern Texas, complete with its heat, charm, and bold flavors—adds a unique flair to the novel. Hudson’s descriptions of the location, the food, and the atmosphere help ground the story and give it a sense of place. The inclusion of a NASA movie set adds a bit of intrigue and novelty, giving Felix’s Hollywood persona an interesting backdrop.

That said, the pacing of the novel can be uneven. The first half sets up the romance and individual character arcs well, but the latter half feels rushed, especially as the relationship between Felix and Liz escalates. There are moments where the plot feels a bit predictable, and while the witty dialogue and quirky situations keep things light, some readers might find themselves wanting more depth and complexity in both the story and the romance.

Final Thoughts:
Anyone But The Superstar is a fun, light-hearted romance with plenty of humor and heat, but it lacks the emotional depth and character development needed to make it truly stand out. Felix and Liz’s journey is entertaining, and their chemistry is palpable, but their romance feels rushed at times, leaving readers wanting more substance behind the attraction. A solid 3-star read, this novel is perfect for those looking for a quick, enjoyable romance with a few laughs, but it may not satisfy readers looking for a deeper emotional connection.

Anyone But The Superstar by Sara L. Hudson is absolutely hilarious! I laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants, but beyond the humor, it's also a breathtaking love story. Hudson balances the spice and romance perfectly with laugh-out-loud moments, making it an unforgettable romantic comedy. If you’re looking for something that will have you in stitches while pulling at your heartstrings, this is definitely the book to read in 2024!

📖 Book Review 📖 I was not going to say no when this book was graciously given my way and although it is third in a series, it has me chuckling enough in the first chapter with enough of a backstory that I was ready to keep going! Things sure are different in Texas and Sara L. Hudson captures that flair with her hilarious writing tone in Anyone But The Superstar! This book is one adorable breezy read and I cannot wait to go back and read the other two books!

It's time for the last Moore standing to find her HEA in the most unexpected way and of course Mike Hunt is there to cause his own personal brand of hilarious yet chaotic drama.

3.5 ⭐

Anyone But the Superstar is the third book in the Anyone But You series by Sara Hudson and I do strongly suggest reading this series in order for the best possible enjoyment. And if your'e already a Sara fan then get ready because she has us going back to her roots a bit with some cameos from some very special characters at NASA.

Anne aka Liz has been on a little journey of self discovery after learning that her life wasn't quite all that she thought it was- and that's how she finds herself in Texas as a storyboard intern for a romance movie. What she wasn't expecting was that the guy that she had an ill-attempted one night stand with just so happens to be a Hollywood star and the male lead in said movie.

Felix and Anne have this intense draw to one another but there is also this layer of distrust and anger that simmers between them. For Felix it stems from an ex that proved he couldn't take people at face value anymore and for Anne it came from wanting to be seen as her own person not the former artistic socialite she forced herself to be before learning the truth about her parentage.

Anne still has this bold personality and fabulous sense of humor that I've loved seeing through the other books in the series. Only now there is this subdued almost nervous quality to her too. I didn't love Felix at first or even halfway through the story. Sure I softened towards him as he lowered his walls and made this effort in caring for Anne the way that she seems to care for everyone but he also had this cocky and almost elitist energy that I didn't quite love.

Things between these two, while they started off hot they significantly cooled and then were simmered on low for a bit while they kind of learned to co-exist and be more friendly than enemies. What this story did not lack though was Sara's patented humor and over the top hilarity that can only be caused by the hairless grump of a cat, Mike Hunt.

Overall this story is exactly what it needs to be- light, fun and such an enjoyable world to dive into. So many moments left me giggling from the numbing cream incident to Thomas losing his stone faced facade in his older brother quest to defend his baby sister and everything in between. I personally loved how Sara incorporated her NASA characters into this story while also adding this fun and unexpected connection.

This book is part of a series, however, I have never read the other two books and therefore you can read this book as a standalone! It does mention characters from the other books but the detail is enough to understand the relevance!

Anyone But The Superstar follows Anne/Liz and John/Johnny/Felix as they are both trying to turn their lives around, leading to a workplace, forced proximity plot! It contains a dual pov with lots of comedic and spicy scenes, although, there is a third act breakup! 🌶️ 🐈‍⬛ 🏥

I did find some chapters too fast paced to understand or I struggled to find the relevance to the rest of the novel, and the epilogue is quiet short, however, it still makes for a good read! The blurb describes the book very well and it definitely has an intriguing colour scheme, book design, and writing style.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Sara L. Hudson for providing me with an ARC for this book, I am very grateful to have received this :)

Elizabeth Moore is making it on her own, taking time out to find out who she really is. But with the year nearly up and her having to go back home to her family, she is close to the answers.

But some fun will lead her to Johnny aka Felix Jones and maybe falling in love. With a little bit of help from Mike Hunt.

I have been waiting for this book, ever since I read the first novel in the series. (This novel also made me buy the other books by this author.)
I loved Elizabeth's story, and how she is a strong character, sorting out her own issues. This novel also shows us the previous characters in this series and how there is so much growth within the family.

I loved the chemistry between Felix and Elizabeth and how they both helped each other throughout; but this also wouldn't be the same without the amazing Mike Hunt.

This is a great novel and fantastic series which I would highly recommend to anyone.

This is the story of Liz/Anne, an art msc student who comes from a rich family and Felix, a famous actor. It’s the 3rd book of a series but I read it without having read the other 2. I didn’t have any problem with that, it is a standalone, but the MCs from the previous books (her brothers & their wives) are mentioned quite frequently.
It’s a cute, well-written story, beginning with a unique one-night-stand and moving on from there. There are many funny scenes, it’s a book where a lot of emphasis is placed on that aspect. The main character is probably the cat, Mike Hunt, it occupies way too many pages and this is a comment from someone who LOVES cats.
The MCs were rather cool, I liked them both a lot and there was definitely chemistry between them. Felix saying stuff in Portuguese was much appreciated 😉 I would have liked to see the relationship last a bit longer before they realised they were in love though.
I wasn’t a fan of so many side chars being mentioned, I found it a bit tiring and had trouble following who is who after a while. I also wish the epilogue was a bit longer.

-Dual 1st person POV
-Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5

Overall: 3.5/5 ⭐️

Thank you NetGalley & Boldwood Books for providing this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a delightful finish to the Anyone But You series featuring the Moore siblings and totally worth the wait!

The sense of humor that Sara gives these characters is just what I want in a rom com. Lizzy and Felix are fun and hiding from life as they meet and have a hot night that leaves someone feeling a bit numb. NASA and the characters from Sara’s Space series are the perfect familiar setting for Lizzy and Felix to reconnect in some pretty hilarious ways.

I’m so glad that Mike Hunt made the trip to Texas for this story, the sphinx cat is my absolute favorite character in the whole series.

I recommend this laugh out loud, heartfelt story.

This was a super cute book and the banter was top notch.
I absolutely loved the dynamic between the two main characters. The hot and cold turning into pure hatred then love. LOVED IT. Also the naked cat named Mike Hunt (say it out loud hehe) was perfection indeed.

Thank you so much to the publisher and the author for the ARC copy!

I love this book, I can't say that loudly enough. Liz and Felix were wonderful, but oh my god Mike Hunt!!! Since I read this book I have have read both chase and Thomas's books and I am now moving on to the NASA stories. Sara L Hudson is now a new favourite author of mine.
Thank you Net galley

I didn’t read any of the ones before this but I am definitely going to play catch up as soon as I'm done typing this. This was great! It had all the funny banter, spicy scenes and drama I could want!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

This was book 3 in an interconnected romance , which I didn't realize going in. I did find you could read this as a standalone as the author covered all the background details you need to know going in.

This follows the FMC Liz Moore and the MMC Felix Jones

After meeting under false name, Johnny and Anne - they have a one night stand that ends up going horrible wrong. Numb cream ending up numbing Liz mouth unlike what it was intended.

Liz then realizes that her new intern job is on a movie set, where the romantic lead she thought was 'Johnny' is actually movie star Feliz Jones.

This was a fun and fast-paced forced proximity story with a lot of moving parts. I really enjoyed it and will be reading the author's two previous books in the series.

Anyone But The Superstar

I haven’t read any of this authors previous books, but I will be after this one!

This book was full of laugh-out-loud moments, steamy scenes and family politics.

Liz, or Anne as she goes by, is such a fabulous FMC. After learning some truths and estranging herself from her Father, she takes a job at NASA. Here she meets Felix, he is an actor doing all he can to stay relevant in the Hollywood scene. Together, they explode into a bundle of banter, angst and a big ol’ chunk of misunderstandings.

I adore a book that makes me laugh, as soon as this happens Im in, I will be there until the end, and this book delivered on that front so well! Also the spice was so good where it was, just the right amount for this book.

The writing is easy to follow, and keeps you turning the pages. The strange hairless cat adds to the plot and will make you smile every time you hear the name.

An all round fabulously entertaining rom-com, with the spice and emotion-inducing romance to go with it.

The sizzle, the suspense, the banter, the denial of feelings it was all a great recipe. And those intimacy scenes, super romantic and steamy.
