This book was so fun and I loved how history was woven into the book in ways kids could understand. This will be a great kids book.

This is my first book by this author and the first in a series. I found it to be captivating and informative. The events center around the War of 1812. Clara and Marissa are the middle grade daughters of the current President. They’ve found a secret place in the White House, dubbed the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse allows them to travel back in time. This book would be very helpful for a middle grader studying the War of 1812. As an adult, I loved the history and the famous characters that popped up. Based upon the author’s notes most of the battle strategies were real. I was blessed with a free ARC, and I’m voluntarily leaving my review. Highly recommend for middle graders and adults. I look forward to more in this series and by this author.

The book was beautifully written. The author made careful word choices that were very impactful. Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it.
