Thank you NetGalley & Avon Books for this ARC.
Ok so if you want a cosy, cute, grumpy x sunshine, dragon baby, set in a coffee shop, full of joy book then you need to read this when it comes out in Jan 2025.
Joy is exactly what I felt when reading this and you can’t help but all in love with all the characters Sparky is just this adorable baby dragon who forms this beautiful bond with Saphira who runs the only dragon baby friendly cafe as she needs money to help with the little mishaps these baby dragons have in her cafe.
Aiden the grumpy but very sweet local gardener who needs help with training and bonding with his dragon Sparky after his brother left him Sparky’s egg when he passed away.
The perfect solution is for Aiden to pay Saphira to help train Sparky, he’s gets the help he needs and she gets money to put back into the cafe.
What they don’t expect is how strong they feel towards each other and when Sparky’s final challenges mean they need to pretend to be married it brings them closer as a little family.
This book is tots adorable. The baby dragons are just the cutest. I really enjoyed this book. It was really original.
This was really cosy and cute. The characters are lovable, and Sparky has my heart. The relationship between Aiden and Saphira was instant attraction but very slow burn throughout, and Aiden's character development was excellent. The undercurrents of class division hit hard and were well conveyed. Tropes include: grumpy x sunshine; one bed; fake marriage; and forced proximity.
It's a cosy fantasy romance, but it's quite a light amount of fantasy in comparison to the romance. I struggled to immerse myself due to the short sentence structures and simple, repetitive vocabulary, but that's just a personal reading preference. It's a wholesome read and easy to fly through (pun absolutely intended).
Side note: I wish there were recipes in the back for all the food items that crop up because they sound incredible!
The Baby Dragon Café is a beautifully crafted cozy fantasy that wraps you up in warmth and magic. At the heart of the story is Saphira, a determined and kind-hearted woman who finally fulfills her lifelong dream of opening a café thanks to an inheritance left by her beloved nani. The café is everything she imagined, filled with cozy corners and baby dragon customers, but it’s not long before her peaceful life is turned upside down by the arrival of Aiden—and his mischievous baby dragon, Sparky.
Aiden is an enigmatic, dark-haired introvert from a prestigious dragon family, and his quiet, reserved nature makes him stand out immediately. His mysterious background only adds to his charm as he and Saphira are slowly drawn together. Their relationship builds steadily and naturally, with moments of tender connection in between running the café and caring for Sparky, whose playful energy adds a delightful layer to the story.
Saphira’s passion for her café and the legacy of her nani are at the core of her character, giving the story a wonderful sense of purpose. As she pours her heart into the café and training Sparky, she also begins to open her heart to Aiden, discovering that love can bloom even in the most unexpected places. The slow-burn romance between them is both heartwarming and swoon-worthy, as Aiden’s stoic exterior gradually melts to reveal a man capable of deep care and devotion.
Sparky, Aiden’s baby dragon, steals the show with his antics, acting as the bridge that brings Saphira and Aiden closer together. Whether he’s getting into trouble in the café or curling up beside them during quiet moments, Sparky’s presence is central to many of the book’s most charming scenes.
Overall, The Baby Dragon Café is a delightful blend of romance, magic, and cozy charm. It’s a must-read for fans of cozy fantasy with a romantic twist and a soft spot for magical creatures.
This was such a cosy, lighthearted fantasy and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It’s similar to THE PUMPKIN SPICE CAFE but honestly, it’s so much better! The romance is a slow burn, but it felt more natural than it being rushed.
All the food and drinks that the cafe had made me wish that it was real so I could try it all!
I am looking forward to the next instalment in this series!
Let’s face it we are all picking this us because BABY DRAGONS ! The romance is just an added bonus !
This starts off really strong , it’s easy to fall into the story and I just want to give a baby dragon lots of kisses ( though i suspect that is not a great idea )
If you love animals this is probably a great pick for you.
Overall the romance plot line was good I liked the fmc and mmc together. I do feel like there was a little too many tropes squeezed into the ending of this. The spice is minimal but there is a small scene without too much detail.

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this ARC.
This was such a cute book!!
Saphira opens a “Baby Dragon Cafe” in her town & quickly finds out that owning a dragon cafe gets pricey. Aiden ends up paying Saphira to train his baby dragon for him, which helps her pay for all the damages ensued by the dragons.
This definitely gave me “Pumpkin Spice Cafe” vibes but this was executed better. I loved reading about all the South Asian desserts served at the cafe, as well as all the unique coffee drinks Saphira makes! I also loved the cafe & its environment- it felt cozy & warm.
This book started off very strong for me. The magical, fantasy elements were so interesting & I loved its integration into a romance. However, this book could have been shorter to me. It also had a very rushed ended imo & had so many tropes mixed into the plot.
Some of these tropes include: grumpy x sunshine
one bed trope
fake marriage
small-town
I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a cute, cozy romantasy. Low stakes & entertaining read. Super cute!!
Look out for the release on Jan 16, 2025
The baby dragon cafe is the cozy mystery meets hallmark movie mashup I never knew I needed!
We follow Saphira who opens a cafe that’s friendly to local riders who have baby dragons they’re raising! As cute and sweet as this sounds, it comes with risks. Saphiras skirts are being constantly singed by little fire puffs and bites, her espresso machines broken, and insurance won’t cover any of it. So when local dragon rider heir Aiden comes in asking her to train his dragon for an exorbitant price, she can’t say no!
We follow Saphira as she bonds and trains with the dragon, Sparky, and her blossoming friendship with Aiden.
I enjoyed this! It does have some baby talk to the dragon that may not be for everyone, but it wasn’t too bothersome for me. This is definitely cheesey/happy go lucky vibes and with that in mind I think everyone could enjoy this! It reads quite YA but if you know what you’re going in to, it’s fantastic. Definitely intrigued to read more from this author!
**Thank you Netgalley for sending me an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
Omg this book was absolutely ADORABLE!!!!!! I was not expecting to love it as much as I did. It was a really cute feel-good story with magical creatures and uplifting characters. Ughhh baby dragons?! Yes please!
“…It feels like everything leading up to meeting you was just the prologue to my life; after meeting you, the real story began…”
The love story in this one was simply beautiful. It did not feel rushed or manipulative. It built up over the course of the entire book, and it was precious. There is no spice in this one, so don’t come at me for loving it anyway because spice isn’t always necessary if the plot is good enough. I definitely would have liked it more with a touch of spice thrown in because I’m a spicy girl, but it wasn’t really necessary…like I said. There was some build-up there, though for people who love that!
Tell me why I pictured Toothless for Sparky the entire way through this book?!? I pictured a baby version of Toothless from the cartoon dragon movie, and I couldn’t get enough of his cutie personality.
This was a very fast and easy read, and it was not very easy to put down for work, chores, life things…even though it feels like a YA read, it also did not because the characters are in their 20s (not teen years). The writing style itself was definitely YA, so those with an advanced pallet may not LOVE LOVE it, but in my opinion it just made it a quicker read. I’m not usually a fan of adults using words like “tummy” but at least it was not during spice scenes 🤣😬 cuz that gives me ick vibes. Again…there is no spice in this one!
I think the only change I would have liked to see would have been to change the chapters into first person pov instead of third person the entire book. I’m not a huge hater of third person, but I would have felt WAYYYYY more connected with Sephira & Aiden if they were written with their own chapters in first person POV format. That’s just me though. This was still a solid 4.3 stars from me! I really loved it, and I didn’t want to put it down at all!
Don’t skip out on this one! It’s truly a feel-good read! ❤️
The Baby Dragon Café is the brand new cosy romantasy for 2025. Thank you to Avon Books and Net Galley for sending me an ARC of this book to review!
Saphira has always wanted a baby dragon of her own. When she opens a café for people to go with their pet dragons, Saphira wasn’t expecting life to be so difficult. The baby dragons are costing her a fortune in repairs between broken appliances and burnt furniture.
Aiden is the owner of a baby dragon, but is not particularly interested in spending any time with it. So, he asks Saphira for her help to train his baby dragon, Sparky and offers to pay her, in order to help keep the café afloat.
As Saphira starts to train Sparky, the more she falls in love with him, But as her happy-go-lucky attitude is more annoying than anything to Aiden, is she able to convince him to spend more time with Sparky, without falling a little in love with him too.
When I was sent an ARC of this book, I was originally drawn to its title, as come on, who doesn’t love baby dragons. As soon as I started reading it, I fell in love with Sparky. I absolutely loved the way in which he bonded with Saphira and their bond grew stronger as the book progressed.
The relationship between Saphira and Aiden was well written. Unlike other books I have read recently, the progression of their relationship wasn’t rushed. There is no spice in this book and I would have been quite disappointed if there was, as the story was strong enough on its own.
This was a cosy, feel good read and is due for publication on 16th January, 2025.
Tropes:
• Sunshine x Grumpy
• Small town
• Pretend we’re married
• No spice
The Baby Dragon Cafe is a cosy fantasy romance about a shopkeeper that follows her dreams and sets up a Baby Dragon Cafe following the death of her Nani. This is a delightful story that follows the hardship of starting up a dragon cafe (not to mention all the breakages that come with dragon cafe ownership), the relationships with her customers and the trials of not being from one of the Drakkon families. Tasked by a customer to help train their dragon, Saphira finds more than she’s bargained for.
Qureshi truly brings this cafe to life and I can’t wait to see what the next books in the series bring. Heartwarming and easy to read and follow. The characters are like family that you’ve met before.
Super cute and super cozy!!
The perfect feel good book I needed! It was adorable I loved it!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am so excited for this one to come out! "The Baby Dragon Cafe" has the perfect amount of low stakes fantasy and romance.
I unfortunately was not able to finish it due to the formatting errors in Netgalley, but I am excited to get my hands on a physical copy. I will be recommending this to everyone.
Rated 5 stars. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC ebook.
The Baby Dragon Cafe is a cute and cosy fantasy book with a really adorable baby dragon Sparky, his shy and introverted owner Aiden and the lovely cafe-owner Saphira who ends up training Sparky for him. The story is low-stakes romance with a tiny sprinkling of angst. It’s quite a tiny amount as we focus on the budding romance and the challenges that come with training a dragon.
I liked the story and found the flow of the plot nice and lovely. I think the characters well crafted well and I found myself really adoring the cafe Saphira owns, some of my favorite moments in the book happened there. I also think it’s so sweet that Aiden found his footing both with his family as well as in his love for both his sweetheart and the dragon he was at odds with in the beginning. The ending felt fitting and I had fun with the book.
This was such a feel-good and cosy romance and would be perfect for readers who love the cuteness of Legends and Lattes but wanted more dragons!
With an easy to follow plot, likeable characters and side characters and some popular tropes I whizzed through this in just a few sittings.
After reading this I feel like I need to explore further than my usual coffee and cake order as everything on Saphira’s menu sounded delicious!
The Baby Dragon Café is the perfect cost romantasy read for this time of year. I am a romantasy reader through and through and I read a lot of high fantasy. This book would be PERFECT to introduce your friends to the romantasy genre or as a cosy, more relaxing read. I want to be friends with Saphira and spend my days working in the cafe and hanging out with the baby dragons. If you are a romance reader looking to branch into romantasy, start here. I promise you won’t regret it!
This was so different to anything else I have read and so much fun to dive into!! There were so many moments I had a chuckle or outright cackled to myself, either from a witty line or from the baby dragons antics 🤣 They were so adorable and I just want to SQUISH one!
I loved the way the story progressed and the writing style was just brilliant. My only issue was with the formatting on the netgalley copy, as the paragraphs and sentences swapped lines in places that made it a little disjointed at times, but that is the ONLY negative I have!
I enjoyed reading this so much, I absolutely loved our FMC and I am so so jealous of her life. Take me there pleassse I need a Dragon Cafe in my life!
I love sparky the dragon I completely understand why sapphire feel in love with that dragon alone. Aidan was so shy and how he opened up. It was so cozy and magical. I love Lavina and theo and can't wait for there story and didn't want to finish the story as felt like it such a comfort read and definitely would buy of her again. If your thinking of reading this book I 100 percent can't recommend enough.

“Until he met Saphira- a beacon of light in the darkness. With Saphira in his life, Aiden felt everything would work out.“
Are you ready for your next cozy romantasy read?
If the answer is yes, this is the book for you.
📌Summary:
Our protagonist, Saphira is the owner of the “Baby Dragon Cafe” a place where little dragons hang out. Even though it’s her lifetime’s dream, it’s very expensive to maintain the cafe, so when Aiden walks in her cafe, offering her money in exchange of her training his little dragon Sparky, it seems like it’s meant to be.
📌Review:
When i received this arc, i was thrilled, because the premises of the book are exceptional. This was such a superb read. The perfect cozy read, i loved the characters, especially Saphira because she was trying to cope with everything, with her business, her love for dragons and her desire for Aiden.
📌Thoughts:
Mark your calendars for the 16th of January, when this book comes out, don’t hesitate to read it.
What's even better is that it’s part of a series, the next will be titled “The Baby Dragon Bakery” and “The Baby Dragon Bookshop”
I would like to thank @avonbooksuk for this amazing arc.

SO CUTE 😍😍
The slow burn between Aiden and Saphira is GORGEOUS!! I loved the cute cosy vibes throughout with the cafe and saphs overall character. She was headstrong and sure of herself which I absolutely loved and admired so much!
The story was chilled and calm with a gentle pace to the reading (but was devoured easily) and you felt a real connection to the characters!
I 100% want my own baby dragon now 😭
