I am so excited for this one to come out! "The Baby Dragon Cafe" has the perfect amount of low stakes fantasy and romance.
I unfortunately was not able to finish it due to the formatting errors in Netgalley, but I am excited to get my hands on a physical copy. I will be recommending this to everyone.
Rated 5 stars. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC ebook.
The Baby Dragon Cafe is a cute and cosy fantasy book with a really adorable baby dragon Sparky, his shy and introverted owner Aiden and the lovely cafe-owner Saphira who ends up training Sparky for him. The story is low-stakes romance with a tiny sprinkling of angst. It’s quite a tiny amount as we focus on the budding romance and the challenges that come with training a dragon.
I liked the story and found the flow of the plot nice and lovely. I think the characters well crafted well and I found myself really adoring the cafe Saphira owns, some of my favorite moments in the book happened there. I also think it’s so sweet that Aiden found his footing both with his family as well as in his love for both his sweetheart and the dragon he was at odds with in the beginning. The ending felt fitting and I had fun with the book.
This was such a feel-good and cosy romance and would be perfect for readers who love the cuteness of Legends and Lattes but wanted more dragons!
With an easy to follow plot, likeable characters and side characters and some popular tropes I whizzed through this in just a few sittings.
After reading this I feel like I need to explore further than my usual coffee and cake order as everything on Saphira’s menu sounded delicious!
The Baby Dragon Café is the perfect cost romantasy read for this time of year. I am a romantasy reader through and through and I read a lot of high fantasy. This book would be PERFECT to introduce your friends to the romantasy genre or as a cosy, more relaxing read. I want to be friends with Saphira and spend my days working in the cafe and hanging out with the baby dragons. If you are a romance reader looking to branch into romantasy, start here. I promise you won’t regret it!
This was so different to anything else I have read and so much fun to dive into!! There were so many moments I had a chuckle or outright cackled to myself, either from a witty line or from the baby dragons antics 🤣 They were so adorable and I just want to SQUISH one!
I loved the way the story progressed and the writing style was just brilliant. My only issue was with the formatting on the netgalley copy, as the paragraphs and sentences swapped lines in places that made it a little disjointed at times, but that is the ONLY negative I have!
I enjoyed reading this so much, I absolutely loved our FMC and I am so so jealous of her life. Take me there pleassse I need a Dragon Cafe in my life!
I love sparky the dragon I completely understand why sapphire feel in love with that dragon alone. Aidan was so shy and how he opened up. It was so cozy and magical. I love Lavina and theo and can't wait for there story and didn't want to finish the story as felt like it such a comfort read and definitely would buy of her again. If your thinking of reading this book I 100 percent can't recommend enough.

“Until he met Saphira- a beacon of light in the darkness. With Saphira in his life, Aiden felt everything would work out.“
Are you ready for your next cozy romantasy read?
If the answer is yes, this is the book for you.
📌Summary:
Our protagonist, Saphira is the owner of the “Baby Dragon Cafe” a place where little dragons hang out. Even though it’s her lifetime’s dream, it’s very expensive to maintain the cafe, so when Aiden walks in her cafe, offering her money in exchange of her training his little dragon Sparky, it seems like it’s meant to be.
📌Review:
When i received this arc, i was thrilled, because the premises of the book are exceptional. This was such a superb read. The perfect cozy read, i loved the characters, especially Saphira because she was trying to cope with everything, with her business, her love for dragons and her desire for Aiden.
📌Thoughts:
Mark your calendars for the 16th of January, when this book comes out, don’t hesitate to read it.
What's even better is that it’s part of a series, the next will be titled “The Baby Dragon Bakery” and “The Baby Dragon Bookshop”
I would like to thank @avonbooksuk for this amazing arc.

SO CUTE 😍😍
The slow burn between Aiden and Saphira is GORGEOUS!! I loved the cute cosy vibes throughout with the cafe and saphs overall character. She was headstrong and sure of herself which I absolutely loved and admired so much!
The story was chilled and calm with a gentle pace to the reading (but was devoured easily) and you felt a real connection to the characters!
I 100% want my own baby dragon now 😭
This was the ultimate cozy fantasy read. It’s exactly what you expect and more, I didn’t think I would love it as much as I do. It’s just so damn precious. Aiden and Sephira were just perfection.
Saphira owns a baby dragon cafe because she loves dragons and wants to be near them as she isn't part of the official dragon-owning families. She meets Aiden, who has a baby dragon of his own but is struggling to train him, so he asks Saphira for help.
Although Saphira is 25, the way she spoke felt to me like she was in her teens. She used a lot of baby words like "Okie" and "Yummy" and a lot of exclamation marks, which made it seem like she was constantly shouting.
There is a steady slow burn and a lot of tension but no serious spice for those who prefer it that way.
I enjoyed the fantasy elements in this book but for fantasy lovers you'll be left wanting more, but an easy read for those who are just dipping their toes into the cozy fantasy genre.
Overall I gave it 3 stars as I didn't love the writing style, it felt a bit immature.
Thank you to Avon for the opportunity to Arc review this book.
if you loved how to train a dragon and you wanted more in fourh wing from andarna this is your book.
it's the perfect book for a rainy day with a cup of tea.
i loved everything about this book.
You have a small dragon that needs to be trained
a coffeeshop owner
the grumpy owner of the dragon
Aiden was such a grumpy unless he was with her... and seeing Sparky being jealous and protective of Saphira like his owner was just so funny.
the slow burn was chef kiss and Sparky just being this cute small dragon acting like a kid/teenager
LOVED LOVED THIS
This just missed the mark for me entirely, as someone who loves fantasy and also loved The Pumpkin Spice Café!
The writing was far too simple and literal, nothing was shown, only told. It was also cringy at times when discussing the characters' feelings and it felt like the plot was going nowhere. In addition, the dialogue wasn't very believable for a group of adults in their early to mid 20s.
Full disclaimer that I DNFed this book at 50%. As for pros: I did like the premise and it did have some cosy elements.
The *perfect* cosy romantasy book to curl up with and read! Think rom-com friendship, with a sprinkle of magical fantasy infused into the story, we follow a duel-POV following a cafe owner, who’s dream has always been to open a Baby Dragon Cafe, and a baby dragon owner, from a distinguished dragon owning family - with no clue how to train it!
We see a slow burn friends to lovers romance, with some adorable fantasy additions, the baby dragons really bring the cosy town feels to life, and I’d love to visit! Perfect for fans of the Pumpkin Spice Cafe, think romance small town vibes with a magical backdrop and storyline, I can’t wait to see how this series develops! I didn’t want to put this down & wished there was more!
The Baby Dragon Cafe is the cutest cosy fantasy.
I loved Saphira's bond with Sparky and Aiden. I was originally drawn to this book because of it's name and the blurb had me intrigued. It follows Saphira who own's The Baby Dragon Cafe as she helps Aiden train his new baby dragon Sparky. As you can guess, sparks do fly between Saphira and Aiden but it is so well done. I didn't want to put it down.
I'm so glad that I got to read it as it was just as cosy as I suspected.
100% recommend this brilliantly cosy read. Definitely looking forward to both The Baby Dragon Bakery and The Baby Dragon Bookshop.
First the cover how stunning so pretty
Second baby dragons adorable baby dragons
This was such a cute read
I read it in one sitting it was so adorable I really enjoyed it
I would definitely be spending all my time at the drags cafe
Lovely characters a unique fun story a beautiful setting
A fun filled sweet story
This book is the perfect combination of ‘The Pumpkin Spice Café’ and ‘Fourth Wing’ !!! Seriously, a café for baby dragons? TOO CUTE!!! 🥰🥰
I loved the main characters, the typical Grumpy x Sunshine! I enjoyed watching their romance and the characters develop. I loved Sparky, the grumpiest and cutest baby dragon ever. This story is set in spring and is perfect for the beginning of the year! 💙
I loved the ending and the epilogue was even more perfect!
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they were interrupted about 5 times when they were about to have their first kiss haha
The book is about Saphira who opens a cafe that allows customer to bring in their baby dragons! She meets Aiden who is a local gardener who has a baby dragon called Sparky. Aiden hires Saphira to train his baby dragon.
I need to point out at this point I did not finish this book. I read it to the half way point. I did want to give up earlier but I wanted to give the book a try.
At first I felt like it reads as a book for children or young adults. I just don’t think this story is for me, I just found it a bit too slow & not really exciting. The main characters seemed one dimensional & it seemed predicable that they are going to fall in love.
Although I didn’t finished this book, I think it may appeal to readers who enjoyed The Pumpkin Spice Cafe.
I think this was a very cute pleasant read, its a slow burn romance, there isn't any spice for people that prefer there stories spice-free then is the book for you. Its a small town setting with mentions of other mythical creatures too.
Its about Saphira who owns a Dragon Cafe (which i would love to be able to do by the way), she is unable to have a dragon of her own, so this is her way to be closer to them, until she gets a great offer from the local heart throb Aiden, who is abit of a grump, to train his dragon.
I love Aamna and everything she writes, i had so much fun reading it, the plot was beautiful, the writing gorgeous and flowy like always and characters absolutely adorable. I genuinely can't thank Aamna enough for writing and making predominantly white concepts for brown girlies, Her books are truly what every single 12 year old desi girl needs.
Starshine Valley is a place i wanna live in, the dragons, the incredible people and the stories already have my heart. This is one of those romantasies where you are happy and giggling through out the book and even though it's all fluff the characters are really well written, their personal arcs so beautifully put together that i wanted to keep on reading forever.
Thank you Avon and Aamna Qureshi ( for the proof copy lmao ) for the Arc and for making me a part of the baby dragon club.
Binged this book in two nights, it was such a cute read!
I loved the two main characters and their chemistry developing between them was *chefs kiss* I adored Sparky, he was so adorable and cute, I loved how he brought the couple together, he was the real mvp, I hope we get to see them again in the next book as well!
Wonderfully written and a fantastic book to read to get me out of my reading slump, I'm looking forwards to The Baby Dragon Bakery next year!
