This is the most beautifully poetic book I have read since A Monster Calls!

Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven explores the tragic theme of star-crossed lovers, forever destined to be the death of one and other. Whilst the plot explores some extremely thought provoking, and at times melancholy topics, its overall uplifting messages about the strength of love is a must for any hopeless romantic like me, or someone who just needs to see there is always some light in what can feel like eternal darkness.

The fast pace of the chapters makes the book totally unputdownable! Switching between their present life and those that have come before, Steven skilful crafts her story so that bit by bit the reader discovers just how tragic Evelyn and Arden's past is. It tugs at the heart strings from start to end.

The story is beautifully tragic and moving. It will undoubtably leave any reader in tears but also with hope and love in their heart. This book puts Steven in the same realm as Patrick Ness, and 'Our Infinite Fates' will undoubtably live as a classic that will be read and loved by readers for generations to come.

Thank you to Netgalley, Penguin Random House UK and of course Laura Steven's for allowing me the honour of reading this masterpiece.

I really liked the premise of this and definitely enjoyed the book a lot. I didn't particularly love the reveal and I can't quite put my finger on why.

Beautiful! This book pulled me out of a rather dull reading slump. The writing was poetic, the story was heart-felt, I adored the characters. This was everything I was expecting and more. And I absolutely loved the little poetry inserts!

I was quite captivated by Our Infinite Fates. It's not the first time I've read a book with the premise of lovers meeting over and over in different times and places, but I thought this was beautifully done, and very atmospheric. Nice tension too, and a balance between the action and the emotion.

A truly monumental piece of writing, never have love and empathy been so exquisitely described! Through all the death, this is still a story of hope. Arden and Evelyn have been killing each other for centuries but why? Evelyn is trying so hard to remember. This gorgeous story takes star-crossed lovers to another level. Loved every word.

AMAZING! I knew from the blurb I was going to like it, but I was still flabbergasted by how much I liked it. An enthralling and captivating story. Lovers reunited for centuries but always doomed to fail. Not now. Now the fmc wants to live, but how can she when she's destined to be find and be destroyed by her lover?

The first thing I have to mention about this book is that the writing is so beautiful; every description of each different setting and character was so vivid and distinctly captured, and the story was incredibly immersive. I loved the sense of mystery woven throughout as with the passing of each lifetime we learn slightly more about the characters' motives and the circumstances that led to the phenomenon of Evelyn and Arden's reincarnations. It is such an impressive feat to be able to include so many different timelines and changes in setting/character without confusing the reader, but this was executed perfectly without feeling disjointed or difficult to follow. I absolutely adored it!

From the moment I read the synopsis, I knew this book would pull me in completely. It opens with Evelyn, who remembers all her past lives but has never lived beyond her eighteenth birthday. The way the story shifts between timelines, revealing the intricate past of Evelyn and Arden, kept me mesmerized. Their love story, spanning lifetimes, is magical, enthralling, and deeply emotional. I was enchanted by its uniqueness and the endearing connection between the characters.

While the middle part of the book felt a bit slow as I eagerly awaited the big reveal of what led them into this predicament, the eventual twist and the ending more than made up for it. It wasn’t the perfect happy ending, but it closed on a beautifully hopeful note that felt right for the story.

What really sets this book apart is its emotional depth and relatable characters. With its witty dialogue and engaging prose, I KNOW this story is going to linger in the mind of all who read it!

Thank you so much to the team at Penguin / House of YA for the advanced read!

I couldn't read this as an ebook for some reason so will get it when it comes out! Sorry! (Leaving a 4 star review to be fair.)

*Our Infinite Fates* by Laura Steven is a thought-provoking novel that explores alternate realities through the life of a young woman facing the consequences of a life-altering decision. The book stands out for its emotional depth, relatable characters, and its exploration of themes like self-acceptance and the pressure of making the right choices. With witty dialogue and engaging prose, it leaves readers reflecting on their own life decisions and the infinite possibilities they hold. A must-read for fans of speculative and contemporary fiction and fans of The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue and I personally cannot wait for this book to hit shelves in February!

I have actually had an opportunity to read this book ages ago ( I wanna say early 2023?) which is kind of crazy when you think how long the book can wait before it is published.
Back then of course it was a slightly different version, raw and unedited. Yet, both are magical. It is not an easy read - there is plenty of going back and forth. Yet it is beautiful. I am a huge fan of Laura's work and this one does not disappoint.

This has jumped to one of my favourite reads of the year. It’s so different to any of my current fantasy reads and I was completely enchanted. It is so beautifully written and heartbreakingly perfect!

This is a story about Evelyn and Arden who find each other in every lifetime, pulled to one another by an unimaginable tether that also forces them to kill each other by their 18th birthday. They have gone through excruciating suffering and deaths but why?

‘The person I loved most in the world was the person who would ultimately destroy me.’

5/5 stars! Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

With a High Stakes Premise, An All Consuming Love Story and Vibrant ill fated Characters in Evelyn and Arden this was a captivating read.

I was entranced by the narrative, mesmerised by their love for each other and mystified at how it would end.

There are definitely comparisons that can be made to The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue but enough that is different to make this a beautiful novel in its own right. I adored it and was blown away by the ending.

I have been eagerly anticipating this book since I first heard the tagline, “They’ve loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They’ve killed each other in every one.” The concept is a compelling one, and comparisons to ‘The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue’ just increased the anticipation tenfold. I was elated to get this ARC and it didn’t disappoint.

The story follows Evelyn and Arden, whose lives are inexplicably intertwined, over thousands of years. They are drawn to one another in every life, but are destined to die at each other’s hand before their 18th birthday in each one… and the cycle goes on.

This was such a unique and imaginative story and so well-done. A love that transcends time, genders, societal norms, (and murder). It was beautifully written, with some mesmerising and poetic prose. There is an incredible depth to Evelyn and Arden, expanded further with each chapter looking at another of their lives, but also to their emotions, and by extension to the other characters that appear throughout the book. The different timelines felt meticulously researched and truly immersive.

This is such a lovely and easily digestible story, I think it will be really big one for readers of all ages. Will definitely stick with me and I can’t wait to read some of this author’s previous books.

5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley & Penguin!!

The idea of the red thread of fate is beautiful, and the way it’s written into this story is stunning.

The evolution of the characters as their story spans many, many years is fascinating, seeing how their interactions, their love, their strength evolve is almost like you’re watching something you know you shouldn’t, but you can’t possibly look away.

The ending was a little unexpected, although it was beautiful, I had an image of Evelyn and Arden returning to their origin and getting to begin again, but this is just my opinion, the ending doesn’t distract from the story at all.

Just before her 18th birthday Evelyn dies. Murdered by the one she loves the most. Only to be reincarnated and have it happen all over again. But she doesn’t know why, just that it will happen.

This book was beautifully written and kept me hooked the entire time. Not only do you feel for Evelyn, but also all the people on her lives she’s built bonds with, never to see again. Her relationship with Arden (the guy set out to kill her) is so well done, mixing where they are currently with snippets from the past.

The relationship between the two characters leaps from the pages, and you can feel the love intertwined with every word.

For me, it felt a lot like ‘Soulmates’ by Holly Bourne.

A beautiful novel which I’m sure will be talked about time and time again.

Thank you NetGalley and Puffin Books for the ARC.

This book was so beautifully devastating. I cried at the end and I felt strong emotions throughout the book.

Our Infinite Fates follows Evelyn and Arden, through their many lives, in which they must die before their 18th birthday. In their current lived, Evelyn is Bram, she lives in Wales and her sister has cancer and needs Bram’s stem cells. Unfortunately the procedure is set for after her 18th birthday. Bram/Evelyn needs to try and stay alive and figure out who Arden is in this life, to try and survive.

I thought this concept was really high stakes, because you want to help your family as best you can, but there is a time limit on that help, which is ehat made this so tense, will she or won’t she be able to help? So tense and it definitely made me think of my situation where I was ready to give up an organ for my mum (she got one from someone else, and we are very thankful!) and I can’t imagine having a time limit to be able to help her!

I absolutely loved thr chapters that were set in their previous lives! It was really interesting to see all thry have been through, and that ‘fate’ always brought them together. For me it showed that love can really overcome any lifetime.

This book was absolutely amazing, and I think it was the best book I have read all year! I can’t wait for it to come out so I can actually talk about it hahah.

5 stars, I can definitely see myself rereading it at some point!

Laura Steven is a beautiful writer with an equally beautiful imagination. Our Infinite Fates is ambitious and absorbing with characters I came to truly care about. Also: perfect ending.

I enjoyed this a lot. It has shades of Addie LaRue and has dredged up a YA book I'm really struggling to remember the title of. I felt there were some plot holes and it took a while for the story to get going but overall it was a fun read!
