The storyline was brilliantly suspenseful, keeping me hooked until the shocking finale. The tension never let up.

Two best friends writing a novel (about 2 friends going on a road trip) go on a road trip to finish the story, but only 1 returns! On the bus, there are signs of a struggle, and one friend returns with no knowledge of her friends whereabouts. Multiple timelines and POV kept me guessing and frenzied to see what was “really” going on. Full of misdirection and side plots (which later reveal to be part of the main story). The final truth was fantastic, and I hadn’t seen it coming. The modern references; social media hashtags, BFF love, girl hope, etc gave out an utterly realistic undertone. Loved this book.

I found "My Missing Daughter" to be a moderately enjoyable read. Some of the twists turns felt somewhat predictable, and I did not particularly connect with any of the characters. However, I appreciated the story itself, albeit not to the extent I had anticipated.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

The first trip away from home and without your parents is exciting and mildly nerve inducing, because you’re on your own and need to figure things out as you go. Willow and Amelia are 19 years old and off on their first major roadtrip to get inspiration for a book they’re writing together. Of course, Tracy and Candice are nervous about it, but they trust their daughters to be safe. Their worst fears become a reality when the bus returns to Chicago without their daughters – and so begins the desperate search for the girls.

We get two POV’s in this story: Tracy trying to find her daughter and Willow during their trip. Despite seeing through the eyes of a teenager throughout most of the book, this definitely wouldn’t qualify as a YA novel, so don’t let that deter you. Some of the choices these girls make even had me anxious and frustrated. While I won’t understand this from the perspective of a mother and the high levels of panic this situation would cause, I can still feel it in Tracy’s POV. How far are these moms willing to go to find their daughters and have them safely returned?

The pacing was great, there were enough twisty moments to keep you hooked, and I’ll be curious to see what others think of the ending of the book. Here’s to finding a new-to-me author that I can look for more books from!

I give this book 3.5 stars. I didn't see most of the twists coming, but it was just a bit too long for me. On the other hand, the ending felt a bit rushed to me. I'm interested in reading more books by this author.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

My Missing Daughter is my first read by Ellery Kane and I have to say I was really impressed. I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books in the future.

I really enjoyed how varied the characters were. Tracy’s panic in contrast to Candice’s ice cold response, Amelia’s troubled nature juxtaposed against Willow’s girl next door vibe. With the differences between the girls so vast, it is easy to see how the distance grew in their time apart when they went to college.

The pace was great. Slow to start as the scene was set, but before you know it, there are twist and turns all over. The story provides plenty of options as to “whodunnit” and I really liked the little bits of social media slotted in to transition between Tracy’s perspective in the present, and Willows account of the road trip that her and Amelia and how things just went so wrong.

All in all, My Missing Daughter has a solid storyline, beautifully executed with plenty of twists and turns along the way. I managed to figure out early on what was going on, but the ending still managed to surprise me which was a nice little bonus!

Wow, what a suspenseful psychological thriller! "My Missing Daughter" by Ellery Kane was quite impressive! It follows two friends on a van road trip, but only one returns, unwilling to share what happened. The unexpected twists kept me on my toes, and the array of characters had me guessing who the culprit might be! While some parts of the book moved quickly, others felt a bit slow. Overall, I really enjoyed it, and I believe any thriller fan would too! A huge thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy)! Im excited to see what Ellery Kane has in store for us next!

My Missing Daughter is the first book by Ellery A. Kane that I have read and I will definitely be looking for more. In this book, 19 year old Willow and her best friend Amelia, are taking a trip in a refurbished bus to work in their novel. The final destination is Niagara Falls. When the bus is brought back to Chicago by someone working for task rabbit, without the girls, their mother’s, Tracy & Candice, are obviously concerned. Amelia shows up shortly after the bus, but has no idea where Willow is. Tracy is frantic, where is her daughter?

The story is told in the present and in flashbacks. As we learn about the girls journey, we see their relationship deteriorate, and some terrible decisions made along the way. It seems Amelia is not the quiet, shy, young woman that everyone believes she is. My heart was in my throat wondering what had happened to Willow and if Tracy would find her. As a mom, this would be my worst nightmare. I wasn't sure if the girls were reliable narrators, and it seems that Amelia was keeping a lot of secrets when she returned home. The ending was not what I was expecting at all, and seemed a bit rushed, but overall this was a suspenseful story with twists that had my emotions all over the place.

This has a slow burn. Once I got to the end half of the book, that's when I couldn't put it down, but in the beginning I was struggling to pay attention. Ellery Kane did an amazing job with this though; all the action and twists at the end made this extremely thrilling. She was able to make you believe anyone was a suspect in this. I've got a lot more thoughts about this book, but for reviewing wise, I'll leave out the spoilers. I also thought the transition between the Instagram posts and the characters viewpoint was a nice touch. Thank you for the ARC through Netgelly!

The story in My Missing Daughter by Ellery Kane centers around a mother's worst fears upon realizing that her daughter is missing. With its twisty plot, heart-pounding suspense, and questionable characters, My Missing Daughter will have readers turning the pages in search of the truth.

Ellery Kane's newest novel delivers a gripping tale.  A tale where best friends Willow and Amelia set off on a road trip to promote their book. But when only Amelia returns home, the burning question arises: What happened to Willow? This mystery propels Willow's mother, Tracy, into a desperate search for answers, leading her to explore various paths, including delving into the world of Instagram. The story unfolds with Tracy's relentless pursuit to uncover the truth behind her daughter's disappearance.

At first, the story unfolded at a leisurely pace, seemingly uneventful. However, throughout the story's progression, it gained momentum and intricacy. Before I knew it, I was utterly engrossed. My numerous speculations about Willow's disappearance all fell short of the mark. The revelation of the true architect behind her disappearance was nothing short of astonishing.

The story alternates between the periods before and after Willow's vanishing. Prior to the disappearance, the reader gets a glimpse into the dynamic between Willow and Amelia. Despite being best friends, their relationship is far from ideal, riddled with secrets. The trip becomes a turning point as they uncover unsettling truths about one another, leading to a significant rift in their bond.

Following Willow's mysterious disappearance, the story introduces a cast of unsavory characters, each harboring their own clandestine truths. Brace yourself for a series of startling disclosures as these hidden secrets come to light. Following such startling revelations, one might anticipate an equally or more shocking conclusion. Unfortunately, it seems expectations were set a bit too high. The ending felt hurried, leaving several secrets shrouded in mystery.

My Missing Daughter is a slow burn, but packed with suspense and throwing out twists like heat seeking missiles - which keeps you devouring this book relentlessly.

@ellerykaneauthor nailed it with this one. The pacing is actually perfect, and the moving POV’s from mother to daughter, and timelines from past to present, leave a trail of breadcrumbs to chase, as you try to guess what happened to Willow. I was fully intrigued with the mystery, and despite my best guesses, I never did have it figured out.

The intensity just picks up the further in you go, and I stayed up well past my bedtime to finish this one because there was absolutely no way I could have paused without knowing. No spoilers, but it’s a helluva ending.

Truly a fantastic add to autumn reading lists. Juicy and full of secrets, this is the kind of easy entertainment that satisfies.

Having read and enjoyed several of EK's earlier books, I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed by My Missing Daughter.

It did take me a few chapters to fully engage width the plot and its characters, but once I did I found myself flying through the pages and couldn't tear myself away.

The plot is insanely good and it has more twists than I could keep up with. Unreliable narrators are always welcome and certainly kept me guessing...I still didn't get it right!

It's suspenseful, tensions are high and the ending... well that's for you to find out!

What can I say about My Missing Daughter? Brilliant! I was totally engaged throughout the storytelling and was surprised how the story unfolded in the end. It began a wee bit slow but once it caught fire (so to speak), the story, red herrings and everything else unfolded fast and furious. I have read a hand full of books by Ellery A. Kane and fully enjoyed each and every book. This author does not disappoint!

The tale begins with two best friends embarking on a road trip to finish the book they have been writing “The Road Trip” and provide some much needed hype abut the book through various avenues of social media. The girls, Amelia Ford and Willow Barrett, have been friends since elementary school and their respective family homes are on the same street. Both girls are aspiring writers who have embarked upon the journey of writing a thriller. As they take this journey, many twists and turns emerge. Willow and Amelia, while best friends have been keeping secrets from each other…and this is going to cause a whole lot of hurt between them.

The story is told from two different points of view (POV). One POV is from the mother (Tracy) of the missing girl Willow, while the other is from postings on social medial that Willow has made during the trip to Niagara Falls. After getting familiar and used to the different perspectives, I found the read very engaging. At times, I did not want to put the book down!

During this road trip, for finishing the book and creating hype for its release many “unusual” events happen. There are accidents, deaths, money “events”, intimate relations, etc. To go into too much detail would spoil it for the next reader – so I shall not expound upon the actual storyline(s) themselves. Suffice it to say – many events happened which kept me thinking “what next” and “why” and “by whom”???

There was a lot of tension between the mothers of the two girls. Their tenuous “friendship” is very rapidly disintegrating and there is a lot of “the blame game” going around. This also produces some interesting moments and provides lots of fodder for my thinking now that I have finished the book.

This book was engaging and still (even a few days later) has me thinking about the story and all the twists and turns (and secrets!!). The truth was hard to come by… but I think this is what made the book such a page turner.

Do you like mysteries with an edge, psychological thrillers, murder and mayhem? If so, I suggest you read this newest book written by Ellery A. Kane – My Missing Daughter. You will be in for a wild ride which will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of My Missing Daughter by Ellery A. Kane. This was an interesting book that I am not sure how to rate. Parts of it were fast paced, parts were suspenseful, and other parts were a bit confusing. The book's premise was a good one and there were some good twists. Some shocking parts that I didn't expect as well. Parts seemed to drag along. I think as an end result I would rate it at 3.5 which I will round up to 4 stars.
