Please don't stop—keep the page-turners coming. This was my first read by this author, and I was not disappointed. It's another great one that I would recommend.

The characters make this story! My favorite parts were the before chapters. I really became invested in Willow. I figured out pretty early what was happening but it didn't take away from the story. I was glued to the pages to see if I was right. And the ending still managed to surprise me.

My Missing Daughter is chock-full of intrigue and suspense. It sucks the reader in right from the beginning and holds them on the edge of their seat throughout.

Two best friends, Amelia and Willow leave on their first trip away from home and don't return. They left in an old bus for a cross country trip to Niagra Falls to finish a novel they were co-writing. When the bus arrives back at their home without them their moms are put on high alert. When Amelia suddenly shows up at home without Willow, the mothers think they will finally get the answers they need to find Willow. However, Amelia is not very forthcoming with what happened and where they disappeared to. What is she hiding or covering up?

Fast paced and full of secrets and lies, this is a book any thriller lover must dive into. It is divided between the present time and the days prior to the trip. Kane is a great storyteller who gives great attention to detail. I always look forward to a new book by her.

The promise of great potential for an enthralling read and my experience as a mother drew me to this read. Unfortunately, despite being an easy read and finishing this in one sitting, the pacing of the storyline felt too sporadic and predictable for my preferences. The author executed and crafted the multi-point of view very well.

This book should be classified as YA rather than a thriller because the target audience would find the relatable scenarios appealing.

Although this wasn't the right book for me, I haven't been discouraged from reading more by this author in the future.

This one is told from a mothers and daughters point of view. It was a bit of a slow burn and felt a little dragged out. How the story unfolded worked well but for the last 1/4 of the listen I felt it just got ridiculous and unbelievable and it completely lost my interest. This one was ok but the outcome was just that bit to unbelievable.

My Missing Daughter by Ellery A. Kane is a masterclass in suspense and emotional intensity. This gripping novel takes readers on a harrowing journey through a mother’s worst nightmare, blending psychological depth with relentless tension.

The story begins when an ordinary night is turned upside down when Tracy’s daughter, Willow, and her best friend fail to return from their camping trip. The arrival of their empty bus, driven by a stranger holding Willow’s keys, sets off a frantic search that uncovers signs of a violent struggle. From this chilling premise, Kane weaves a narrative that is both heart-wrenching and unputdownable.

Kane’s portrayal of Tracy is one of the novel’s standout features. As a mother, Tracy’s desperation and determination are palpable, making her a deeply relatable and sympathetic character. Her journey is fraught with emotional highs and lows, as she battles not only the external threats but also her own fears and doubts. Kane’s skillful character development ensures that readers are fully invested in Tracy’s quest to find her daughter.

The pacing of My Missing Daughter is impeccable. Kane expertly balances moments of high tension with quieter, more introspective scenes that delve into the characters’ psyches. This rhythm keeps readers on the edge of their seats, constantly guessing and re-evaluating their theories as new twists and turns are revealed.

One of the novel’s strengths is its exploration of the psychological impact of trauma. Kane delves into the minds of her characters, revealing the complex emotions and coping mechanisms that arise in the face of unimaginable stress. This psychological depth adds a layer of realism to the story, making the characters’ experiences all the more compelling.

The setting of the novel, with its stormy nights and eerie landscapes, enhances the overall atmosphere of dread and suspense. Kane’s descriptive prose vividly brings to life the physical and emotional landscapes her characters navigate, immersing readers in the story’s world.

My Missing Daughter is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers. Ellery A. Kane has crafted a novel that is both emotionally resonant and thrilling, with a plot that keeps readers guessing until the very end. With its well-drawn characters, intricate plot, and unforgettable twists, this book is sure to leave a lasting impression. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the genre or new to Kane’s work, My Missing Daughter is a novel that should not be missed.

First, I want to thank Ellery Kane, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Ellery Kane your latest My Missing Daughter is your best written book to date-and I have been a fan for years! Your storyline was brilliantly crafted creatively outside of the box and I totally loved that! This book reads like one of those true crime documentaries like you see on Netflix. I am going to go one step further and say that out of the 102 books I have read this year this book is in my top 5.

Ellery made me very happy seeing that she placed most of her book in Niagara Falls, NY and mentioned Buffalo, NY multiple times. I live in Buffalo, NY and rarely do I see non local authors place their characters in my hometown. Thank you for that!

Clear your schedule for the day because once you start reading you will not want to stop! This is an addicting fast paced read that you will need to know what ever happened to Willow!!

I loved how this book was about two best friends who wrote a book together about a trip and then set out on that trip together. However, one best friend doesn’t come back. This is a missing person case that is so unreal that it could be ripped from the headlines. I loved how Ellery brings the social media instagram aspect into the storyline and we get to see the banter back and forth between the characters. There were a lot of twists, turns, secrets, shocking revelations, and even a taboo storyline.

When I read who Ellery drew her inspiration from, the book made perfect sense. I love how she put her own special twist on it though.

This is a definite must read put this at the top of your TBR pile!

Ever since Gone Girl, thrillers have to end with a twist. One of the characters in My Missing Daughter actually says that and, for this book at least, it's pretty obvious that there's going to be some kind of crazy unexpected ending. Willow and her best friend are on a road trip to finish the last set of edits on the book they've written together and promote their project on their social media channels. But the converted school bus shows up in Willow's mother's driveway without either girl. Scenes of the girls on the bus alternate with Willow's mother's search for her daughter. I couldn't put this one down. The plot isn't believable, but it's a lot of fun leading up to a less than perfect ending.

My Missing Daughter

Thank you so much to Ellery Kane, @netgalley and @bookouture for the opportunity to read the book and listen to the audiobook!

I thought I was so clever and had figured this whole thing out — damn was I wrong!!! This for sure got me.

I loved the multiple POVs and timelines. We hear from the mother of the missing daughter, the daughter on her road trip with her best friend and the daughter when she is missing. This road trip was no ordinary road trip, and these twists were no ordinary twists.

I really enjoyed reading and mostly listening to the audio. I thought the narrators did an amazing job of conveying the fear, anxiety and thoughts on this crazy journey.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #MyMissingDaughter by #ElleryKane. This book is crazy good and had me guessing the entire time. Willow and her best friend, Amelia have written a book called The Road Trip and now they are setting off in a van on a road trip. When their van and Amelia return but not Willow, the town and willows mother, Tracy launch a search for her. What happened to Willow? Why isn’t Amelia talking?

3.5⭐️
This book was definitely a page turner. There were so many twists and unexpected details that kept you hooked from the beginning until the end, trying to figure out the truth. I would think that I had things figured out, but then another twist would happen. I did end up guessing one twist, but was surprised by others. The last 30% of the book definitely felt more farfetched and the ending felt a little rushed/more forced, but it still held my attention. Overall, it was an enjoyable, fast paced read. Thank you to Ellery Kane, Bookouture, and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.

Wow. This one was a real page-turner, and I don’t say that lightly!

To start, this book is told from two POVs: Tracey, Willow’s mom, in the present day as the discovery that the trip has gone wrong happens; and Willow, who recounts the events of the road trip, leading up to the arrival of the school bus at her mother’s house. (I don’t want to give anything away!)

OK, now back to the book.

There are books that really make you think that you have it all figured out, or you at least have most of it solved, but then sweep the rug out from under you - and I’m here to tell you that this is one of those books. I was busy putting the pieces together in my head, while the author had a completely different scenario ready to pounce in and shock me. It was intense!

It helped that both timelines were super suspenseful in their own rights and I was just glued to the pages. Then, once the twists and big action start coming…whoa! That’s all I needed to just speed right through.

And as I said, the ending was pretty cool. It has a full circle moment that will make you smile. That’s all I’ll say.

Pick this one up for some great suspense and thrills!

Best friends, Willow and Amelia, set off in a camper van on a road trip to mirror the book they are writing together. When the camper van is returned to Tracy, Willow's mother, with no sign of the girls, and then Amelia returns home alone, Tracy is frantic!

This is a suspense filled read with some very shocking and unexpected twists, which kept me fully engaged and desperate to know #WhereIsWillow. Yes, that's right, Tracy turns to social media to try to find her daughter and we all know how toxic that can be!

The chapters switch between Tracy, the girls on the trip, prior to Willow's disappearance, and Instagram.

A really enjoyable read that I feel is well suited to Young Adult readers.

4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Ellery A. Kane and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Unfortunately I struggled with this one and didn’t enjoy it , I found the story to be drawn out and I had no interest in the characters . I’ve read and really enjoyed other books by Ellery Kane but this one just didn’t work for me .

A first trip away from home, a daughter who did not return, a frantic mother, secrets, and unanswered questions set the stage for My Missing Daughter. This book kept me on my toes and turning the pages. No matter how old your children are, a parent always worries. This is on full display when Willow and her friend go on a trip Amelia hit the highway in hopes of finishing the book they are writing. It was meant to be a trip of adventure, a trip to finish their book, a trip for exploring. But when a man who was hired to return the van, delivers it to Willow's mother alarm bells go off. When Amelia returns home, speculation also kicks into overdrive. Don’t even get me started on all the secrets!

I enjoyed getting glimpses into the time Willow and Amelia were on their trip. It was nice seeing what they were doing, how they were getting along, and what they were experiencing. Let’s just say it was A LOT! Another plus is seeing Tracy, Willow's mother frantically trying to get answers from police about her daughter's whereabouts. The book goes back and forth between the two storylines which was nice touch and added to the tension in the book.

This book kept me on my toes and each time I thought I had things figured out, I found that I was wrong. I did not see the ending coming and was shocked. I love when that happens. I enjoyed the contrast in personalities and reactions between not only the two friends (Willow and Amelia) but between Tracy and Candice, Amelia's mothers. I found this to be very realistic, well done and showed how different people react to things differently and in their own ways.

This book was full of tension, secrets, twists, and turns. I was fully invested in learning the truth and as I mentioned, I did not see the ending coming at all. This was also a fast read for me. I had both the book and the audiobook which made for an enjoyable reading experience.
