There are a ton of snarly knit to unpick in this one!
I thought one character was completely skeevy from the beginning.
Honestly, most of the characters are unlikable. Who refurbishes a bus and encourages two kids to go on a road trip???
One of the main characters was a consummate liar and probably the most dangerous person in the story.
I didn’t unpick the knots until the very end.
Wow. I enjoyed this unique premise and circumstances of this psychological thriller ! I certainly wasn’t prepared for the twist at the end.
The events playing out are like the ones in the book being written and the aspect of Instagram posts being a part of the book are an added bonus!
Thank you, Ellery Kane, Bookouture, & netgalley, for my copy! All opinions are my own.
When I started reading My Missing Daughter, I wasn’t quite sure where the author was taking us.
So many lies…
So much betrayal…
This story definitely will have you asking yourself:
How well do we really know our child(ren)?
Author, Ellery A. Kane, takes us on a very twisty and suspenseful ride in My Missing Daughter.
And, what a twisty ending she gives us!!
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This book is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The novel masterfully intertwines suspense and emotion, drawing readers into the harrowing journey of a mother desperately searching for her missing child. Kane’s ability to craft complex characters and an intricate plot is commendable, making it difficult to put the book down.
The story is filled with unexpected twists and turns, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, Kane surprises you with another layer of mystery. Her writing style is both engaging and evocative, painting vivid pictures of the emotional turmoil and tension that permeate the narrative.
“My Missing Daughter” is a compelling read that will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers. It invites readers to explore the complexities of human emotions and the lengths one would go to protect their loved ones. If you enjoy stories that delve into the darker aspects of human nature while keeping you guessing until the very end, this book is a must-read! 🙌
This book immediately hooked me when one of a mother's worst nightmares comes true. Two young best friends leave on a road trip hut they don't both return. The lies, the twists, where does it lead us?
I enjoyed the dual POV, Willow and Amelia on their trip and one of Willow's mother. From the girls POV they seem young and inexperienced to life and given they are about to be college students it's fitting. Willow's mother shows that a mother's love is everything.
Page-turning, twists galore, and sleepless nights until you finish! Don't start this at 10:00 PM.
I do think this could fall under YA or coming-of-age in addition to thriller.
This was another Ellery Kane book that was fun to read and then just goes to the completely bonkers in the end. The hashtags got a bit annoying and reminded me of why I stay of Twitter and Instagram most of the time. Willow goes missing on a roadtrip in a school bus that her mom bought and fixed up for her. Yeah, mom is very involved. She is the kind of mom that wants to be the “cool mom.” The “we’re more like friends” mom. The living through her kid mom. For the most part she is very cringy. And not just in her relationship with her daughter. All of her relationships give that ick feeling.
The ending is satisfying even in its unrealness. Take a quiet day and use read the whole thing. It’ll be fun.
Please don't stop—keep the page-turners coming. This was my first read by this author, and I was not disappointed. It's another great one that I would recommend.
The characters make this story! My favorite parts were the before chapters. I really became invested in Willow. I figured out pretty early what was happening but it didn't take away from the story. I was glued to the pages to see if I was right. And the ending still managed to surprise me.
My Missing Daughter is chock-full of intrigue and suspense. It sucks the reader in right from the beginning and holds them on the edge of their seat throughout.
Two best friends, Amelia and Willow leave on their first trip away from home and don't return. They left in an old bus for a cross country trip to Niagra Falls to finish a novel they were co-writing. When the bus arrives back at their home without them their moms are put on high alert. When Amelia suddenly shows up at home without Willow, the mothers think they will finally get the answers they need to find Willow. However, Amelia is not very forthcoming with what happened and where they disappeared to. What is she hiding or covering up?
Fast paced and full of secrets and lies, this is a book any thriller lover must dive into. It is divided between the present time and the days prior to the trip. Kane is a great storyteller who gives great attention to detail. I always look forward to a new book by her.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy
The promise of great potential for an enthralling read and my experience as a mother drew me to this read. Unfortunately, despite being an easy read and finishing this in one sitting, the pacing of the storyline felt too sporadic and predictable for my preferences. The author executed and crafted the multi-point of view very well.
This book should be classified as YA rather than a thriller because the target audience would find the relatable scenarios appealing.
Although this wasn't the right book for me, I haven't been discouraged from reading more by this author in the future.
Right away this book was a very intense read, the questions and suspense was definitely very captivating all the way through. Overall I found it to be a very twisty and fast paced read.
This one is told from a mothers and daughters point of view. It was a bit of a slow burn and felt a little dragged out. How the story unfolded worked well but for the last 1/4 of the listen I felt it just got ridiculous and unbelievable and it completely lost my interest. This one was ok but the outcome was just that bit to unbelievable.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #MyMissingDaughter

Kane’s portrayal of Tracy is one of the novel’s standout features. As a mother, Tracy’s desperation and determination are palpable, making her a deeply relatable and sympathetic character. One of the novel’s strengths is its exploration of the psychological impact of trauma. First, I want to thank Ellery Kane, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
Ellery Kane your latest My Missing Daughter is your best written book to date-and I have been a fan for years! Your storyline was brilliantly crafted creatively outside of the box and I totally loved that! This book reads like one of those true crime documentaries like you see on Netflix. I am going to go one step further and say that out of the 102 books I have read this year this book is in my top 5.
Ellery made me very happy seeing that she placed most of her book in Niagara Falls, NY and mentioned Buffalo, NY multiple times. I live in Buffalo, NY and rarely do I see non local authors place their characters in my hometown. Thank you for that!
Clear your schedule for the day because once you start reading you will not want to stop! This is an addicting fast paced read that you will need to know what ever happened to Willow!!
I loved how this book was about two best friends who wrote a book together about a trip and then set out on that trip together. However, one best friend doesn’t come back. This is a missing person case that is so unreal that it could be ripped from the headlines. I loved how Ellery brings the social media instagram aspect into the storyline and we get to see the banter back and forth between the characters. There were a lot of twists, turns, secrets, shocking revelations, and even a taboo storyline.
When I read who Ellery drew her inspiration from, the book made perfect sense. I love how she put her own special twist on it though.
This is a definite must read put this at the top of your TBR pile!
Ever since Gone Girl, thrillers have to end with a twist. One of the characters in My Missing Daughter actually says that and, for this book at least, it's pretty obvious that there's going to be some kind of crazy unexpected ending. Willow and her best friend are on a road trip to finish the last set of edits on the book they've written together and promote their project on their social media channels. But the converted school bus shows up in Willow's mother's driveway without either girl. Scenes of the girls on the bus alternate with Willow's mother's search for her daughter. I couldn't put this one down. The plot isn't believable, but it's a lot of fun leading up to a less than perfect ending.
Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
My Missing Daughter is my first read by author Ellery Kane.
Willow and Amelia are best friends.
They go on a road trip in a renovated van and record their adventure via instagram.
But then the van is returned home by a road service.
Willow’s mother Tracey, begins to freak out and calls the police.
It starts to become a nationwide story and soon after Amelia returns home.
Where is Willow…..
What has happened…..
Who is telling the truth….
And who is lying…..
A satisfying plotted storyline with some suspense, a twist and a good ending.
Ellery creates mystery and suspense for her readers and continues until the ultimate reveal.
This book will give fans an addictive and exciting tale to add to her catalogue of psychological thrillers.

Thank you so much to Ellery Kane, @netgalley and @bookouture for the opportunity to read the book and listen to the audiobook!
I thought I was so clever and had figured this whole thing out — damn was I wrong!!! This for sure got me.
I loved the multiple POVs and timelines. We hear from the mother of the missing daughter, the daughter on her road trip with her best friend and the daughter when she is missing. This road trip was no ordinary road trip, and these twists were no ordinary twists.
I really enjoyed reading and mostly listening to the audio. I thought the narrators did an amazing job of conveying the fear, anxiety and thoughts on this crazy journey.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #MyMissingDaughter by #ElleryKane. This book is crazy good and had me guessing the entire time. Willow and her best friend, Amelia have written a book called The Road Trip and now they are setting off in a van on a road trip. When their van and Amelia return but not Willow, the town and willows mother, Tracy launch a search for her. What happened to Willow? Why isn’t Amelia talking?
