I always love Sarah Ready's books, and this was no exception! They are just the best romances. This was such a good read!
Wished is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s Ghosted series. Anna Benoit wasn’t one to believe in love at first sight until it happened to her. The first time she met Max Barone, head of a jewelry empire, when she was cleaning his home office she knew. After years of love from afar, Anna discovers a magnificent piece of jewelry on his desk with a very old note saying that the necklace granted wishes, and wish she did.
The next morning Anna awakens in a soft and luxurious bed, but it’s not in her room in the tiny apartment she shares with her mother and much younger sister Emmy. And when she arises she finds herself dressed in sexy underwear she never saw before. Arriving at Max’s office building clad in only one of his white dress shirts, she encounters his personal assistant who recognizes her, but when finally admitted to Max’s office, he is as stymied by what has happened as Anna is. And as they try to unravel the events since Anna made her wish, other wishes are made and much occurs.
This is an interesting story wrapped around a fantasy core. As with the first three books in this series, the magic makes all the difference and the characters work towards a happily ever after. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!
Wished by Sarah Ready is an utterly charming and magical romance that’s as heartwarming as it is entertaining. The story follows Anna, a chateau cleaner who makes a wish on a mysterious necklace for her unrequited love, Max—the chateau’s owner—to fall in love with her. Chaos ensues when her wish unexpectedly comes true, leaving both Anna and Max in a whirlwind of confusion as they realize that wishes aren’t always what they seem. Their journey to set things right is filled with laughter, tender moments, and a blossoming romance that feels earned and genuine. With delightful side characters like Doreen, the quirky neighbor and friend, and narrators who bring the audiobook to life beautifully, Wished is a sweet and lighthearted story that will leave you smiling. A magical, feel-good listen that’s a standout in Sarah Ready’s repertoire!
This was everything. If I could listen to it again for the first time again, all would be right in the world. Sarah has truly captured my heart with her hopeless romantic MMC and I am running to read her backlist.
Wished was such a fun concept and a unique perspective on just how much power a single thought or wish can hold if it comes true at any moment.
This is by far one of the hardest books I’ve ever reviewed. I imagine it’s like sitting down and having to write your wedding vows, putting your absolute love and adoration for something into words… It’s hard. This entire series is beautiful and one of my favorites of all time. It’s beautiful, imaginative and absolutely heartwarming. It’s one you can read again and again and discover new layers.
Loved the narrator for all four of these books!!
4.75 ⭐️
Sarah is at it again with a great story that kept me hooked until the end! I love the way she keeps you hooked by not always choosing the most predictable plot lines for her stories. If you love romance mixed with a little magic, this one is definitely for you!
Max is in love with Fiona (from Fated - book 3) but after she marries the man of her dreams, he's left alone with his broken heart. Anna is his cleaning lady who fell in love at first sight but Max doesn't even know her name. One wish, with the help of Max's family heirloom, changes both of their lives in ways they never realized they needed.
This book had some good moments not a full on favorite but an entertaining listen nonetheless. I’m gonna check out the others in this little series by Sarah Ready. I have read her other series and really enjoyed those 2.
The was an excellent rom-com! I’ve seen movies like this before but this is the first time I’ve read a book where a wish has changed the life of the main characters. I loved how both Anna and Max remember their original life, but also have memories of what their life had been like in the “wished” for life. I think that’s what adds to the romance, they are enemies in the original life, but they remember the love and romantic times in the “wished” life.
So disappointing.
This is book 4 in the series and can be read alone but you’ll want to read Fated before Wished so you know the background on Max Barone.
I loved the previous book in the series and was anxiously awaiting the release of this book so I’m very disappointed. The narrator is perfect, but I didn’t finish due to way too much content. It’s like this was written by a different person because it has a completely different feeling - the emotions and magic are gone.
Max isn’t romantic or passionate. His relationship with Anna doesn’t have any depth, it is all sexual and not loving but forceful. He’s creepy and possessive and in her words, a predator (end of ch 18.)
I loved the previous book but unfortunately not this one. Thanks to Swift & Lewis Publishing and NetGalley for an advance audio copy to use for my review.
Sarah Ready’s *Wished* is a whimsical, heartwarming audiobook that blends romance, fantasy, and self-discovery into a delightful package. With its charming premise and engaging characters, this is a story that sweeps listeners into a topsy-turvy world where love might just be the most magical force of all.
Anna Benoit is a dreamer and a romantic, someone who wholeheartedly believes in love at first sight. For her, *The One* is Max Barone, the enigmatic owner of the chateau she cleans. The only problem? Max doesn’t even know Anna exists. When a desperate wish turns her world upside down, Anna wakes up in an alternate reality where she and Max are not only acquainted—they’re married.
The premise is irresistible, and Ready doesn’t disappoint. Anna’s journey through this wish-come-true world is filled with moments of passion, humor, and heartfelt introspection. Her interactions with Max, who is suddenly her loving (and complicated) husband, are brimming with chemistry, tension, and the kind of tender moments that will have listeners swooning. As Anna revels in the life she’s always dreamed of, the story gently probes deeper questions: Is this magical reality truly what she wants, or is there something more meaningful waiting to be discovered?
Max is a complex and layered romantic lead. Ready gives him just the right mix of mystery, charm, and vulnerability, making his growing connection with Anna feel authentic and compelling. Their relationship isn’t just about Anna’s wish—it’s about discovering who they are together and individually. Anna’s growth as she navigates this unexpected reality is both relatable and inspiring, adding depth to what could have been a simple fairy tale.
The audiobook’s narration is top-notch, capturing Anna’s dreamy optimism and Max’s reserved charm with distinct, engaging performances. The narrator brings the fantastical elements to life with energy and warmth, drawing listeners into the whimsical and sometimes chaotic world Anna finds herself in. Each character is given a unique voice, enhancing the immersion and emotional resonance of the story.
What sets *Wished* apart is its balance of lighthearted romance and meaningful self-reflection. Ready crafts a story that is as much about loving oneself as it is about finding love with someone else. Anna’s journey reminds listeners that while wishes might lead to magic, true happiness comes from embracing reality and building a life grounded in authenticity.
With its clever concept, lovable characters, and moments that will make you laugh, cry, and believe in the power of a good wish, *Wished* is a captivating audiobook that will appeal to fans of magical realism and heartfelt romance. Sarah Ready has created a feel-good story that’s as enchanting as it is empowering. Five stars—this is the kind of listen that will leave you smiling long after the final chapter.
I did a read along with the book and it definitely gave me an beautiful experience! Thank you so much Netgalley for this Audiobook and it was as a delight to hear them
A great ending to the "Ghosted" series. In this book we follow Max, and Anna, his housecleaner. But after a wish goes awry Max and Anna end up married, with Max having vague memories of it and Anna having none. It was really interesting watching this love story play out as they spend a good portion of the book trying to undo the wish. I loved this so much and the epilogue has a very special place in my heart. Not going to lie I definitely bawled at parts of this book. I look forward to reading whatever Sarah Ready does next! The narrator did a really wonderful job with this one.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
Anna is a low income woman living with her family to help ends meet until Max ruins it all. Can a wish turn things around for Anna or will her life be forever changed? This romance was sweet, spicy, and enchanting. Anna and Max compliment each other and defy odds. This fourth isn’t my favorite out of the series but was still a beautiful story. I highly recommend if you are looking for a romance with a bit of magic.
Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
This has been such a fun, cute series and I'm happy to see it continue. As with the other ones, the characters are interesting and fun and the romance is sweet. The narrators did a good job.
This book was very good and the reader of the audio book kept you wanting more. Cannot wait to read more of Sarah Ready books. The cover is beautiful too. If you are looking for a little humor then this was a cute and funny read. Kept you guessing.
It always takes me a second to figure out which character is the focus of the new book in the Ghosted series, but it took me a minute or two to figure it out this time because my brain was not working. Once I figured out who we were focusing on, the story took off. I love that Anna and Max kept trying to cancel the original wish.
As always, I look forward to reading the next book in the Ghosted series. They are a fun, romance read, with the perfect amount of spice.
Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt did a great job of narrating this book together. I will definitely be looking for more of their audiobooks in the future.
This series is such a breath of fresh air. They are magical, romantic, a little spicy and great escape from reality. The romantic settings are a perfect backdrop to the heart breaking romances that find the characters struggling with choices and fighting their feelings. This one was no exception, Max and Anna’s story was heart warming.
Have you ever wished that your life could be different? Anna Benoit certainly has. She has always dreamed of being a princess that the prince falls hard and fast for but she feels like her life couldn’t be further from that dream. She works with her neighbor to clean the house of Max Barone…house might be a bit of an understatement as Max comes from a wealthy family.
Anna fell in love with Max at first sight but Max seems to look right through Anna…barely noticing her at all. Until one day when Anna finds a piece of jewelry on Max’s desk and makes a wish on it. Both Anna and Max are taken into another world where not only do they know each other…they are married! Once the wish reverts back, will Anna and Max remember each other? Will they fall in love again?

Anna, a house cleaner of the infamous Max Barone, comes across a piece of jewelry that is said to grant wishes. She wishes to be married to Max and wakes up a day later to find she has done just that. But now she has taken away Max's choice in the matter; Anna feels she must make things right.

I love this series so much. Wished is the fourth installation in the Ghosted series. This was much more fast paced than the third and I really enjoyed this one. I love how Ready took Max and decided to give him a story. I really loved that the entirety of the novel is focused on a person free will. That a person should be able to choose who to love and not be forced to love someone through a wish. I loved the deep conversation that Anna and Max had and their chemistry and banter was perfection. Like I said, this was a much faster paced story, and I found it was a lot easier to follow as well. I felt like I connected with Anna and Max much more. This is told in a dual POV and gives you both Anna and Max's perspective which is a huge win for me.

Overall, this was a huge win for me. I really enjoyed this story. I cannot wait to see what story Ready has next for the series. Huge thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! You can't help falling in love with the characters while they are falling in love with each other! This book definitely got me thinking about the meaning of choice when it comes to love and what it means to wish that someone loved you. There were parts of this book that had me kicking my feet! There was some spicy scenes but I felt like it wasn't overwhelming for the story. I can't wait to read some more books from this author!
