Bringing my NetGalley account back to life from the graveyard (It was never really alive and I have no idea how this works) for this book! Thanks to the ARC being available there in exchange for a review.

This book is about the best friend from the 3rd book, Max. I thought it's be about the brother but I'm happy our guy also got his story too. I was really feeling it at first, and there were some amazing moments.

We have our FMC, Anna, who is working as a cleaning lady at Max's house (who runs a family jewelry company). There is a misunderstanding where Anna gets fired and is down on her luck. In a magical turn of events, they end up as a married couple.

I really appreciated that the power dynamics in the marriage were about equal, both were working together and aware of what was happening. Later though that changed and I liked it less. I also didn't love how Max changed his approach quickly (whether that be intentional or not) as it made me mistrust him.

I enjoy Sara's writing and I look forward to the next one (hopefully it'll be about Fi's brother).

Some of my favorite lines:

“Thank you for getting lost with me.”
Max smiles over at me, setting his spoon down. “Maybe you were lost, but I knew where I was the entire time.”
“Oh.”
His eyes light and he leans close. “I was with you.”

“I see in him the boy who wasn’t given love, the man who turned from love, and the man who in Paris asked me to find him and tell him that love wasn’t anything to be afraid of. He trusted me to find him and love him and give him a choice in loving me.”

“... I want to know what it is to love you in every possible way. When you’re happy, when you’re not… when you’ve changed from who you are today and are someone new and the only thing I recognize is that I still love you. I want to be there for it all. In quiet love and passionate love and the kind of love that holds on even when everyone else would let go. I love you without reservation.”

🎧 Audiobook Review! 🎧

Wished was kindly provided as an ARC by NetGalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful book!

I have loved every book in this series by Sarah Ready. Therefore, it should not be a surprise that Wished is no exception.

There are so many great things about this book. I love the locations, obviously. I love Max and Anna, and how they are trying to figure out what is real and what is not.

Obviously there is a magical element to this story, but there is also some really profound thoughts and feelings in it too. I was so absorbed with this book, I wanted to know what was going to happen, and how Anna and Max would resolve their problems.

And the chemistry? Yeah, so well done.

I thought this was a really cute book. There was just enough magical realism for me. This was my second book in the Ghosted series, and now I have to go back and read the two books I missed. This storyline was unique and entertaining. This was a quick read, and the two main characters fell for each other quickly with some assistance (wink, wink). The writing was so well done with descriptions that made me feel I was in the setting with the characters. The spicy scenes were well done, and I enjoyed the journey to true love that this book took me on!

The narration by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt is chef's kiss! They both did a great job.

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Wished by Sarah Ready

This book is the epitome of ‘be careful what you wish for’. When Anna Benoit makes a wish, she finds herself married to her boss, Max Barone. It’s everything she’s ever dreamed of, but it doesn’t feel real. Unable to shake the feeling, Anna knows the wish is wrong. Will her heart or her conscience win?

Wish is a romance that will throw you in at the deep end. I loved the instant connection the characters had due to the wish. We got to see them together before everything fell apart. Can they find their way back to each other?

The perfect romance for those who love the insta love trope.

I really enjoyed the narration of this audiobook. It brought the story to life and was easy to listen to.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of the audiobook. All opinions are on my own.

Sarah Ready is back! I did not like the last book, but Wished is another fun twist on reality like the first couples in the Ghosted series, and an enjoyable read … if unrealistic. (Fated wasn’t the only book ever I didn’t like, but generally I am a big Ready fan)

Wished is literally a story about a girl, Anna, making a wish that her life was different, and grew up wishing she could be like Samantha from I dream of genie - just wiggle her nose and make it happen. She works for Max Barone as his house cleaner. He runs a jewelry empire in Switzerland. She’s enamored with how his life looks from the outside and has had a crush on him from first sight… 3 years ago. Max is one of those men married to his job, and based on experience, never plans to get into a relationship, or marry… he attempted a proposal to his best girlfriend, but she married someone else.

After Anna finds a necklace that Max left out, which has a note attached outlining a family mythology about it being a wish granting necklace, she makes a wish (that she was his wife), and after Max catches her with the necklace and kicks her out of the house, she wakes up to a brand new reality - a whole new world. She and Max have to navigate the altered path together. It makes for a really great read! A very unique twist as with so many of Ready’s books.

If you’ve read and enjoyed the earlier books in the Ghosted series, you’ll definitely want to grab this one - it’s a fun and unique storyline! Even though I didn’t enjoy the third book, this one is back on track to being as good as her other books (all her other books). I give my stamp of approval on this one as an enjoyable, fun, light read. Never come across a twist on i dream of genie before!

Audio is narrated by two of the best in the business - Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt. Will only has a small role but he does it brilliantly. Amanda does a spectacular performance, as she always does - she’s definitely one of my favourite narrators. I just wish that Will had a larger part… but I understand why his role was written that way.

I received an advance read and listen copy from NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing (Independent Members' Titles and Audiobooks), and this is my honest feedback.

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the advance readers copy of Wished.

Sarah is a one click author for me and this series is fantastic! Wished is such an adventure that takes you on a magical ride. It’s amazing when a dream may actually come true.

Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt are new to me narrators and they did an amazing job with this story. They brought Sarah words to life through their voice, emotion and personality to reach character. A fantastic listen!!

Do you believe in love at first sight? Do you believe that wishes can be granted? If you answered no, then you'll be in the same boat as the main characters. A wonderfully written whimsical romance with a bit of instalove (one sided), enemies to lovers, Cinderella and a few more tropes tossed in to make you delightfully happy. This series just keeps getting better and better. Once again, the author has woven a world where the whimsical just might come true! She has creatively realistic characters that help to draw you into the story and keep you listening or turning pages for hours past your bedtime! The narration on the audiobook is outstanding as it enhances the well written plot by making the characters even more realistic through the enhancement of the emotions and giving voice to their unique personalities. This series is definitely on my must listen list! If you aren't into audiobooks, then the written book is just as compelling so make sure you grab your favorite way to read, grab your beverage of choice and curl up in your favorite reading location to enjoy!

Max and Anna come from two different worlds and when she makes a wish on a necklace their lives change forever. As they get to know each other, while trying to figure out how to reverse the wish, they end up falling in love. The only problem, he doesn’t know the truth.

I really enjoyed watching them grow as a couple, learn about each other and realize how to reverse the wish. Even though I figured out why their lives weren’t going back to normal, I couldn’t wait to see if they would figure out the truth. I love this world Ms, Ready has created and hope there are more books to come.

The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. I only wish we could have more chapters from Max’ point of view. I would gladly listen to more books narrated by these voice actors. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁: This was a cute one, it gave me Cinderella vibes with plenty of spice! I loved the concept of this story and the characters, they had depth but it didn’t take away from the lighthearted vibe. This story is for every little girl that wished they could find a magic necklace and wake up to find her prince charming.

Anna has been cleaning houses to help keep her mom and little sister afloat. She works hard and is an honest person. As a little girl she wished she had the power to grant wishes, so she could make everyone’s lives a little bit brighter. But unfortunately as much as she hoped this could come true it never did.

Anna has been cleaning Max’s chateaux for years now, she secretly fell in love with him almost at first sight many years ago. However Max doesn’t know she exists, they are from different worlds. Then one day while cleaning Anna finds an elaborate jewelry box sitting on Max’s desk, curiosity won and she opens it. It’s a beautiful sapphire necklace with a note saying it grants wishes.

Anna always wanted to be the one to grant the wishes, she never thought to make one of her own. But today she felt pulled to be a little selfish. She closed her eyes and Wished that Max would see her, love her and be hers. Then she put the necklace away and decided she wanted to cancel her wish after all. That is when Max catches her and accuses her of stealing this million dollar piece of jewelry.

One thing leads to another and Anna finds herself thrown out and without a job. The next morning Anna wakes up to the new life she Wished for and oh man is she in for a surprise!

Wished was my first Sarah Ready novel and it will not be my last. I really enjoyed this light but spicy. I keep seeing her work and I am glad that I dove into this story. I enjoyed the narration and the characters in the audiobook. I recommend this novel to those who enjoy spicy romance with a story that will keep your attention.

Wished by Sarah Ready
Ghosted series #4. Paranormal romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Anna Benoit fell in love at first sight. She’s always been a romantic and believes in helping others and being honest. Although she’s never really talked to Max Barone, she’s been cleaning his huge chateau for seven years and knows his nighttime beverage and book choices, knows his preferred tv shows, and lots of other minute details. When Anna finds a Genie type of “wishing” message on a necklace one day in Max’s home, she can’t help making a wish to be married to Max. She immediately takes it back, feeling guilty for pulling him into her fantasy. And then wakes up in his bed with everyone calling her Mrs Baron.
Happy ending? No, it’s not that easy.

🎧 I alternated between an ebook and an audiobook. For the audiobook, all but the prologue and epilogue are done by Amanda Ronconi, who does a fantastic job with the emotional highs and lows and keeping the reader engaged. There were specific voices for the two main characters as well as a few secondary voices. Will Watt performs the prologue and epilogue from Max’s POV and I found his low pitch difficult to understand and hear but for a few sentences that were extremely over modulated. I was glad I had an ebook version to refer to for those two short sections.

A few unexpected twists and continuations when I thought it was close to an ending.
Overall I loved the story and would recommend the audiobook knowing it will be from her POV for 98%.
Charming magic and romance. A few spicy scenes but most playing on the emotional honesty of the heart.

And just for fun because I liked the thought:
“Cleaning people’s homes is a bit like being a Genie. When they get home from work their house is clean, tidy and smells like fresh linens and lemons. And that is a bit like magic.”

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and publisher Swift & Lewis Publishing.

This is my first Sarah Ready book. Even though it is part of a series, I had no problem enjoying the story. There is just enough magic to keep the plot moving forward without detracting from the reality of the characters, who are interesting and well written.

The narrators, Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt, do an excellent job with the narration. They truly capture the characters, clearly interpreting their background and social classes, as well as communicating what each character wants throughout the book. Ronconi has an especially large task as the primary narrator. Her facility with dialects is a great asset since every character, from the straightforward American Anna to the rich European Max, is distinctive and well acted.

This is a delightful, spicy romance and is an enjoyable audiobook experience.

Thank you to NetGalley, Swift & Lewis, LLC, and Sarah Ready for advanced access to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I found the story hard to follow mainly because the narrators were distracting and annoying with their in and out accents.

I love the magical realism in this series. Sarah Ready's mind works on a whole different level. I couldn't anticipate how she would distinguish between a wish from a dream but she did! And it's a huge part of the plot. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator's accent but the dialogue moves well. The pace of this story is a lot slower but there will be a signature twist at the halfway mark that will blow your mind.

Anna has been living that Cinderella life -- she cleans houses full time to help provide for her mom and sister. Hospital bills and her estranged step dad has made life difficult but they hold on tight to each other. Anna feels a lot of love and responsibility for her family. Max is living a completely different life. He's the sole heir of a jewelry empire and the loneliest person Anna has ever met. She's spent the last three years working in his house, obsessing over him, but they've never spoken. Until he walks in and accuses her of stealing his family's sapphire necklace!

Anna goes to bed hungover, unemployed and desperately wishing that life had turned out differently -- that Max could love her back. When she wakes up, her wish has come true! But only she and Max remembers what life was like before.

I was afraid that Max would be angry but they quickly move on to trying to solve the magical mystery. They travel through Geneva, Paris and St Tropez in an alternate world where they are happily married. Max notices how much better his life seems with Anna in it, and is willing to get to know her more. He's the kind of person that would never have entertained a relationship without the magical intervention and that's what makes it so compelling.

As a lover of all books, having a favorite book or author is like being told I have to choose a favorite child. Sarah Ready time and time again proves that it is totally fine to have a favorite author. I crave her stories. When I want a comfort read--I gravitate toward her books. Not once have I been disappointed.

The entire Ghosted Series has been exceptional, each story unique and continuing the theme of what it means to be meant to be. I loved Max in Fated and to see his story continue and be explored further was a dream come true. Wished was so fun and full of passion--With work being a lot busier than normal I have struggled to find the time to read/listen to a book or it takes weeks to get through one, Wished was able to capture me so thoroughly that I got through it in one day.

Another hit and another reason why Sara Ready is one of my most recommended authors.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an audiobook ARC. This was a good, easy listen. and the narration was brilliant. I liked the idea of the wish and figuring out the missing details but, I felt the characters needed to get to know each other more emotionally..

Many thanks to Netgalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and the author for the ALC/ ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What if you make a wish and wake up to find yourself to be living it? Anna Benoit is obviously surprised when after wanting to be a genie all her life, makes a wish which she didn't think she meant to make, seems to have come true. She is married to Max Barone who up until the day before did not even know her name, that too not for a day but a whole 7 years.

What follows is a delightful story of 2 people from very different world seeing each other truly for the first time, making new wishes while trying to unmake the very first one. Will they regret it, if the wish was unmade?

This was a rollercoaster and a beautiful one, with romance and spice and everything nice. A very predictable story presented in an unpredictable flow with the whimsical magical realism part keeping the will they / won't they alive.

Sarah has done it again! And I think this is the best one so far! I love the parallel universe idea of this one, and as all her books this one had clever dialogue, romantic scenes, and a great story. I listened to the audio book of this story as well and it was fantastic, the narrator was great! I would recommend this book, but I do recommend reading these books in order because there are Easter egg character appearances!

3.75 stars.

The idea of the plot was intriguing. A romantic's wish to be married to her insta-love came true but the one she wished for had no idea who she was. That description alone had me requesting this book. I was excited to see where the author would take the story. The plot was definitely interesting, and the banter and humor had me giggling; but I was sometimes annoyed with the FMC who came across a little naive and silly at times. But the story still held my interest throughout. I listened to the audio, so my review is a reflection mainly of the narration. The male narrator filled the role perfectly, but most of the narration was by the female FMC, so the female narrator was front and center. I have listened to books with this female narrator before and they were really good, but I felt like she was not a good fit for this character. I kept losing focus on the story because of it. Overall, the story was good, but the narration took away some of my enjoyment of it.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and this is a voluntary review.

This was a cute cozy Rom-Com. If you wish upon a.....NECKLACE?? I wonder if my jewels spell anything...

Want to know what I am talking about? ...READ THE BOOK!!

There is no need for a long review, this author does NA the right way. This is my second time reading a story written by Sarah Ready and I have yet again been broken and mended between the pages of her book. Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt did an outstanding job of bringing the story of Anna and Max to life. As I write this review I am smiling, this was really good!
