Sarah Ready is quickly becoming a favorite author! And her Ghosted series is why. I didn’t realize how much I would love the magical realism genre, but here I am having read the whole series in the last month, and I still want more! Sarah’s writing pulls you in and she gives so much detail, but not in an excessive way, it is just so easy to see in my mind and feel like you’re there watching the story unfold around you.
Anna and Max’s story was such a unique take on a wish come true, and I loved it. The prologue starting in Max’s POV and then jumping back in time and giving Anna’s was perfectly done. I’m not usually a fan of insta-love but this one is done right. There were so many giggles and sweet moments between them as they navigated how and if they should reverse the wish, and dang were there some good quotes throughout. The ending was perfection and left such a satisfied and content feeling that I don’t always have with books. I definitely recommend you read this one, and the others in the series.
I had the privilege of listening to the audiobook and reading the ebook and that was such a neat experience. To listen to the narrators while also being able to read the book just made the story all the more come alive in my mind. The narrators did an amazing job at breathing life into Anna and Max and I would recommend to anyone who can, listen to it while you read it. It just makes it even more magical!
Great job yet again, Sarah! Now… what’s next? I need more!
The idea of this book is cute. A story of how true love finds a way in all alternative universes. Anna and Max have intense passion in each of their lifelines. But it wasn’t my favorite book to listen to. The idea that Anna was that in love with someone she never even talked to seemed insane and made it hard for me to support their “true love” claim.
Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the ALC!
The writing is lovely. The characters are compelling. I liked the message of the story. There were lots of important things said about love and living. But it was hard to listen to Anna tell herself all the reasons she shouldn't be happy. The overall tone of the story was sad, and I hadn't been expecting that. The narrator did a very good job with the characters and accents. I enjoyed listening to this.
Sarah Ready did it again with this series. I love magical realism and Sarah Ready is a master of it.

Thank you to the publisher and the author for this early listen of this audiobook.
This is a new to me author and narrators and I genuinely enjoyed listening. I didn’t want it to end!
Narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt
When Anna Benoit wishes she’s married to the enigmatic owner of the chateau she cleans, she wakes up in a topsy-turvy world where she’s Max Barone’s wife.
Anna is a romantic who believes in The One and Love at First Sight. Why? Because it happened to her. The second she saw Max Barone she fell desperately, hopelessly in love.
It didn’t matter that they were from completely different worlds—he owned a jewelry empire, she cleaned houses—love had no barriers.
Except one.
Max didn’t know Anna’s name, much less that she existed.
Then one day Anna made a wish. Suddenly she was in an upside down world where everyone believed she and Max had been happily married for years. It was passion. It was romance. It was love. It was everything she’d ever wished for. Wasn’t it?
3.5 stars actually
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from this book since I didn't know the author but I ended up actually enjoying it!
I don't know if i was supposed to read the previous books of this series first, but I probably should've.
Anyway, this audiobook was really good, the voice actors were captivating and the story was cute.
I'll try to read the other books some time soon.
"Wished" is another great story by Sarah Ready. I've really loved reading her books through the years, and this one was just as good as the others.
When Anna falls in love with Max at first sight and he barely even notices her, she's left to adore him from afar for years. But then one day, she is granted a wish, to be married to Max and loved by him. And while it seems like a dream come true, when she understands all that her choice cost him, she feels guilty about taking his free will away.
With Max as her partner, they set about together to figure out how to reverse the wish and then to set about seeing if their love itself was actually real.
While the story was a bit spicier than I typically like, overall, I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more books by this author!
Thanks to Sarah Ready, Swift & Lewis, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.
This was my second Sarah Ready book and it did not disappoint. I love this universe and I’m excited to go back and pick up the two that I missed in the Ghosted Series.
Anna Benoit has been cleaning Max Barone’s house for three years, and she’s been in solidly in love with him for all three of those years, but Max doesn’t know she exists. They are from completely different worlds. Anna works hard to help take care of her family while Max owns a jewelry empire.
While cleaning the Chateau Anna is drawn to a jewelry box with a necklace and inscription inside. The necklace claims to grant wishes and so after pining over Max for three years Anna shoots her shot and wishes to be married to Max. Max catches her with the necklace and promptly accuses Anna of trying to steal it banning her from the premises.
After a long night of drinking and trying to forget that she was utterly embarrassed by the fact that Max is not who she built him up to be, she wakes up in Max’s bed inside the very Chateau she’s been banned from only to realize that he wish did actually come true. Chaos ensues as the two attempt to figure out how to make things right while actually falling for each other.
Overall I loved this book. It feels like Cinderella got mashed up with Aladdin and sprinkled with some very undisney like spice in the mix. I listened to this one on audio and Amanda Ranconi as the narrator had such a unique cadence and tone that I never wanted to put this one down!
Thanks to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis Published for the ARC.
I received a complimentary copy of this book "Wished" and all opinions expressed are my own. I listened to the audio book. I actually struggled to listen to this story. I did finish it and only because I was listening to it. Overall I didn't care for it.
From chapter one this was an interesting twist on the getting your wish of having true love granted. Max Barone knows his whole life is in perfect order until someone shows up claiming to be his wife and everyone around him believes it’s true. With zero memory of it he finds out he has been married 7 years. The moment he sees his supposed wife he is blown away and all of the sudden slammed with the most intense lust and obsessed.
Anna a cleaner at the Barone Estate, has been working for the Barone family for 7 years and knows so much about her boss though she has never seen him. The moment she does she is slammed with love at first sight.
But he doesn’t know she exists.
This first chapter with Anna is like in a TV show when they say 6 months earlier. All of the events leading up to the wish. When Anna wishes that she were married to Max. Until she wakes up the next day and it’s come true but they have been married the past 7 years and she doesn’t remember any of it.
While in that first moment Max didn’t remember her she also did. He has memories of her but until that morning he didn’t know her. They embark on this journey of getting to know one another and Max gets to see if the woman from his memories is also the same woman standing in from of him. This is what I mean by an interesting twist on the wish for true love. Usually we see the FMC as the only one with the knowledge that something is different. But in this book they both know. I love it.
Sarah does such an incredible job with tension. Little glances here. Internal pining and quick glimpses of hot steamy passion that will leave you wanting more.
Max remembers how she tastes, how she looks in the middle of passion. Just seeing her turns him on.
I wouldn’t say her books are super spicy but they are descriptive and she does spice well!
Watching them try to avoid the inevitable was too cute. They were honestly weak when it came to the “I want to undo this wish” the whole time.
Then there was a twist that I didn’t see coming that brought in an element of emotion that I wasn’t expecting.
I already miss Max and Anna and I want to reread this story again.

I was instantly sucked into this story during the prologue and continued to listen to it every chance that I had and as quickly as I could. Both of the narrators for this story made it very easy to fall in love with the characters and the story line. You only hear from the male main character during the prologue and epilogue but the accent alone is to keep you wanting more. The female main character is from America so she doesn’t have an accent.
Once I figured out that Max had a soft and gooey center, I fell for him too. I know why Anna did the first time she met him. As the story progressed, I just kept hoping that they would figure it out and continue to find each other. When I neared the end of the story and Anna did what she thought was best, I just kept hoping this wasn’t the end of their story. Even though in the back of my head I kept reminding me of the age old saying, “What’s meant to be, will be”.
After finishing Fated I was so excited that the next installation of the Ghosted series would be Max's story.
This one wasn't quite as good as the previous installations. I thought it was a little too insta-love and we didn't get to see their relationship build. It's just like after the wish a switch flipped and Max was in love. I really liked the relationship building in Ready's previous books so this was a little disappointing.
Other than that, it was still a really fun and quirky book. I thought both of the characters were well written and of course, the side characters are always a joy. Ready's premises for her magical romances are so intriguing and original!
My fav so far of The Ghosted series. Max Barone, who made an appearance in Fated, gets his own book! Anna, a home cleaner, has been cleaning Max's home for the last 3 years. She is absolutely in love with him, getting to know him from all the little things around his home. Max doesn't even know she's alive. He doesn't "see" Anna. Until Anna makes a wish that has them married and in love and in a completely altered reality.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and Swift & lewis Publishing for this audio e-arc.*
I was able to listen to Wished by audiobook! The dual narration was performed by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt. They were both fantastic and brought the characters to life perfectly. I have no issue with either and they make listening to the story so smooth and enjoyable! 🎧
Anna, a hopeless romantic, falls head over heels for the owner of the chateau she is cleaning. Polar opposite, Max, owns a jewelry empire and doesn’t even know Anna’s name. 🧹
One day Anna makes a wish that comes true ✨ Truly a Cinderella story, from rags to riches. Anna now has it all including the man of her dreams. But does he remember the “before” her? Is this truly what Max would have chosen? Suddenly Anna realizes her wish, may not be what is right.
Check out Wished, book 4 of the Ghosted series, to find out what happens to Anna and Max when wishes really do come true!
Thank you to the author, Sarah Ready and NetGalley, for the opportunity to listen to this book. I received an advance audiobook for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wished is the fourth book in this series and the third I read. I really need to get to Ghosted - book 1 - but having recently counted my TBR and having over 1000 (😱) books to read I’m not sure I’ll be getting to it any time soon!
So, I loved Switched but for me Fated just lacked that funny, flirty banter between the characters. Wished was a nice balance in between with both serious aspects and funny moments.
I listened to the audio of this and enjoyed the narrator throughout. The story is told from Anna’s perspective throughout with exception of the epilogue. It was an easy listen, as with Switched and Fated!
Anna makes a wish, which changes her whole life. In the alternate reality she is married to Max. Max is a character we know from Fated and honestly I thought he was a bit of a wet wipe but I was pleased to say he was totally different in his own story. This was surprisingly spicy too! With the rest of the series you need to let your imagination go and embrace the magical realism.

This is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s Ghosted series which always delightfully combines romcom vibes with a sprinkle of magic that is usually a mystery to our main characters! Wished is no different - our FMC is a housekeeper for our rich MMC and after making a wish on a bracelet to be married to him, she finds she should be careful what you wish for!
This book is whimsy and fun. I really enjoyed the Geneva and Paris settings and the lack of much conflict was a nice change to the normal 3rd act breakup. Where this book didn’t work for me, unfortunately, was how heavy it relied on insta-love for both main characters. It felt really unbelievable and left us with very little tension or honest chemistry.
This was still a quick and easy read with some fun parts though! Not upset I read it, but I do think other books in the series have been much stronger. Narrators Will Watt & Amanda Ronconi were both very strong and talented and I do think they made the story more enjoyable as well!

cw: mention of death, kidney disease, alcoholism, child abuse, DV, bullying
The moment Anna Benoit caught sight of her enigmatic boss, she was immediately enamoured. Max Barone is the owner of the most prestigious Swiss jewellery company. When Anna makes a wish that she’s married to Max while cleaning his chateau, she wakes up in a topsy-turvy world where her wish comes true, and everyone thinks they've been married for seven years. There's only one problem. Max doesn't even know Anna's name.
I always know I'm in safe hands when I read a book by Sarah Ready, and I ADORED Max from Fated, so I was really excited to read his story. I was also lucky enough to be able to listen to the audiobook alongside reading an eARC, and I highly recommend doing the same as Will Watt & Amanda Ronconi captured Max and Anna perfectly.
I loved getting to know Max better. He was such an interesting character, and understanding why he was so closed off to love made so much sense after we discovered what it did to his parents. I loved the way he was written as such a powder keg of restrained passion. The explosion was intense and extremely satisfying. His fears about love and hate were also sensitively explored. I thought the landmine analogy he talked about was perfect, even though my heart broke for his childhood recollections.
I loved Anna. She was such a sweetheart, and I particularly appreciated how hopeful she was despite everything she'd dealt with in her life. She was such a nurturing person, and I appreciated how she cared for her mother and sister. I loved the almost oppressive chemistry between her and Max after they met for the first time as 'husband and wife'. The way Max's recollections were incorporated was so cleverly done and SO hot, and Agathe, his secretary's reaction to his confusion was hilarious. I also loved their banter as they grew closer.
Their first kiss was sublime. The chapters in Paris were so beautifully written, and I adored the escalating sensual tension between them. It truly was the most exquisite slow burn. Meanwhile, even though I completely understood Anna's ethical dilemma, St Tropez h*rny Max was absolutely hilarious. There's nothing better than a filthy mouth as far as I'm concerned, and Max put his to excellent use.
There were some interesting supporting characters, and I would love to see Anna's sister, Emme, in a story in this series in the future (maybe she could paint herself into a new reality *winks*). I liked Dorene, Anna's boss. She was a lot of fun but also gave great advice.
The magical elements have been a lot of fun in this series, and they were so well executed in this story. I loved that the impact of each wish was a little different but always unexpected. Chapter 31 utterly wrecked me. My heart broke for both of them, but the reunion was absolutely worth the wait. I swooned so much and I ADORED the acrostic ring. Meanwhile, the epilogue was just perfection.
Another truly gorgeous story.

Oh how delightful it was to be back in the world of the Ghosted series again!
This is the fourth book in the series and we've (me and my son!) been keeping up to date and have read all 4 books in this series now.
Wished takes us back to Geneva and on a journey with Max and Anna.
I loved this because we obviously got to know Max fairly well in book 3 - Fated - when we meet him in Fiona's story.
Now, I don't want to be giving any spoilers for either book if I can help it, but if you read Fated, then you'll know why I felt really upset that Max was missing out.
Hence my joy for this book!
Once again, we're taken on a magical adventure when Anna, Max's cleaner, finds and makes a wish on one of Max's antique pendants and then finds that they're living an alternate life, where they've been married for years!
I just can't say any more about the storyline because in true form, things progress rapidly, things get muddled up and we are swept away in the crazy, romantic bliss of it all.
I absolutely loved Anna from the start. The contrast in her and Max's background and way of life made for a lovely fairytale style plot and the thing I loved most was that Anna wasn't drawn in by the money and wealth, she was just truly and madly in love with Max.
Max's development was just brilliant. From the man we had met in book 3, to see him thrown into this crazy "wish" world was wonderful and to see the changes in him even towards the end of the book - well I just loved every second.
As ever, the writing style is emotive and descriptive and draws you right in from the first to the last page.
Packed with passion, magic, humour and a fair few twists and spicy scenes, I was completely immersed the whole way through.
If you've seen my other ("Ghosted") reviews, then you'll know that I always share this series with my (grown up) son, who never reads books!
This is also why it takes me far longer to finish these books than normal, as we have to schedule it round both our activities - but we made it through another one and we both absolutely loved every second!
We can't wait to see if there'll be another book coming and who we'll see starting in it!?
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕
I struggled to get into this book in the first few moments but then once I gave it a chance it was very interesting. I do feel that the plot lagged a bit towards the 75% mark. I feel it could have been wrapped up at that point. I think if if you’re looking for a romantic book with a few Hallmark moment shenanigans thrown into the mix this one’s for you!
Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my review
