'Wished' by Sarah Ready was a win for me. I feel like I jumped right into the story, in which Anna, wishes to be married to her emotionally unavailable/doesn't even know she exists boss. I think Ready did some fun things, playing around with the rules and interpretations of the wishes, and I enjoyed both characters immensely.

I was lucky enough to review this book in audio format. I enjoyed the production and found Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt's narration to be very engaging. I feel Ronconi's portrayal of Anna was particularly memorable and unique.

Thank you to Sarah Ready and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC for the audio ARC of 'Wished' in exchange for an honest review.

Summary:

The story is of Anna Bennoit who secretly loves Max Barone but doesn’t tell him inspite of working at his place for 3 years. Story set in the town of Geneva in Switzerland then travels to Paris. Anna gets to wish and her wish is to be married to Max. Her wish is granted except that she doesn’t remember the 7 years of her marriage to Max.

My Take:

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC for reviewing. I preferred to listen to the audio version as I find it convenient. Well, I think it was the best decision that I took. To start with Narrators have done a fabulous job. Each and every character has been narrated differently and keeps the pace accordingly easy to identify. I have become a fan of Amanda. Special mention to her for a wonderful narrative and hence the perfect rating.

After laying my hands on a spiritual book, I wanted a light read and this book was just perfect. Pace of the book is fast with no faltering or dragging anywhere. Even if it did, due to narration, didn’t feel like. I was glued to the book over the weekend and looked forward to completing the story quickly. Characterisation is not very realistic but they all are adorable. A perfect weekend light read it is.

This book will remain in my memory due to multiple factors, to start with it’s detailed description making the image of scenes vivid in the eyes of readers, division of books in 3 parts and very simple storyline. I admit that the end of the story was quite predictable (I could predict it). There are absolutely no complications in the story and it’s a story that takes place within a period of a week. 60% of the story takes place in the first day itself.

Overall, a nice book but a great audio Book. I will re-listen to this book mainly for Narrator.

You have the chance to make the biggest wish of your dreams come true, but you know it's not what the other person would want. What would you do?

Anna has worked cleaning Max's Chateau for years, and has fallen in love with him. Max doesn't give her a second look. She has necklace and makes a wish on it and the rest is history.

Sometimes we have to take a chance and make our wishes come true, regardless of what the outcome may be!

I did not read the first book in the series, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and gave it a strong four stars.

Thank you to Netgalley for the audio ARC of this delicious read.

This book started out kind of cute, and then I started to enjoy it. But by the end, it fell flat. I finished it last night and this morning I can’t even remember how it ended. I don’t think I ever felt very invested in the characters or even liked them.

“Wished” is romance the way it ought to be written. I thoroughly enjoyed my time listening to the audiobook over the last few days.
Before I get carried away, my thanks to the publisher for providing me with an arc for this book through NetGalley.

So! My biggest praise: the characters. They felt believable and were genuinely likable. This is a big thing for me in a romance novel, because if I can’t buy into your characters, I can’t buy into the relationship. But the characters here felt fleshed out and had depth, the characterisation felt consistent; they had values they stuck to, but they also developed and changed, too.

The heart-to-hearts the FMC and MMC had were endearing and sweet; something that - strangely - I don’t see very often. They actually had common interests, views and beliefs, and could share those and have meaningful conversations.

I enjoyed the progression of the relationship thoroughly, and once I got into the book I didn’t want to stop. The pacing was perfect for me. My only issue was the amount of smutty scenes. Now, this is of course personal taste, but I felt like there were too many. At times, I’d rather have seen more personal conversations or perhaps a date instead.

The plot and conflicts were actually quite engaging, too! Strange, but whimsical and fun.

I would wholly recommend this book - and after reading this I think I’m definitely going to go back and read some of Sarah Ready’s other novels.

*♡Thank you to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for the ARC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion♡*

A very unexpected, delightful read!
I thought going into this is would be the same old story of girl wishes for boy to fall in love with her and after a little tension they live happily ever after. I was pleasantly surprised! 3 wishes in total and they do get their happy ending but in an enjoyable and satisfying way.
Anna is a very believable FMC, and i respect all the decisions she makes throught the book. Max is the grumpy MMC that I am always guaranteed to fall in love with time and time again!

Amanda Ronconi does an excellent job at narrating, I would definitely put her on my list of favourites!
Will Watt narrates the prologue and epilogue from Max's point of view and his voice sent shivers down my spine!!!

Overall Wished is a easy, cosy read that you dont have to take too seriously. A fun ride from start to finish, with some amazing spicy scenes 🫠🌶️

Sweet, sexy, silly - charming and funny! This was a kind of magic-realisme and kind of second-chance rom-com with all the steam and tension you need!
I worked very well as an audiobook too. Defently reading more of Sarah Ready ;)

Wished is the fourth and final book in the Ghosted series. Both narrators did an excellent job. This is a rom-com about a wish made upon a sapphire necklace and what happens when what we wish for comes true. I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series - which can be read or listened to as stand alone books.

The storyline and characters made for a humorous, fun audiobook.

Highly recommend.

Wished by Sarah Ready is an immersive and fun journey that was hard to put down. This would be my second favorite of the Ghosted series with the first being Fated. Granted, Fated was my first introduction to Sarah Ready and I was clueless with the series. Quickly, I began reading all the books.

I was excited to see a continuation for Max, one of the characters in Fated. There were multiple twists where I couldn't predict what was going to happen, which made the book that much more stimulating. New characters were added that had interesting backstories and dialogue.

I'd like to thank NetGalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC and Sarah Ready for the advanced copy.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!

What a cute book. I really enjoyed it. This was my first by this author and will not be my last. Great writing style! A fun and easy read.

This book started out so much fun, and I loved listening to it. But as the book went on, it lost its storyline to too many bedroom scenes. It lost my interest quickly. Unfortunately, I did not finish it.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an early copy of this book for an honest review! It was entertaining. Definitely not romance of the year, but still a good read through once. The mfc was a little frustrating at times due to not knowing what she really wanted. I'm not big on instalove (even though it is there for one character, but not the other) and I'm not really into smut (which in my opinion what was in the book didn't really contribute anything). Overall, it was still a good book, just more middle of the road for me.

I had such a great time listening to this book! It was like listening to a modern day fairytale. Anna is a lovely character and I loved that she was such a dreamer! Honestly, her story is cute and I loved her! I wanted Max’s HEA since I’ve read Fated. I wanted to know more about him, and this book was exactly what I needed.
Overall it was a great listening and story, I liked the narrators and their voices.

Quick Summary: A love of a lifetime romance

My Review: Wished by Sarah Ready is book #4 in the Ghosted series.

About the Book: Is love at first sight real? Can it be, if it is associated with a wish? Is it possible to find the person you were meant to be with in a distorted reality? Can two souls who are destined to be together find their way to one another no matter what obstacles may come?

In this wonderfully creative, wholly magical romance, a wealthy businessman and his lowly employee find themselves catapulted into a dreamlike fantasy world. As they seek to find their way back to reality, feelings develop and secret desires unfold.

My Final Say: Sarah Ready has written another enchanting story, and I am over the moon about it. I absolutely loved this book. Everything about it was golden.

Both the audiobook and the e-book provided the just right reading experience. This gem goes on my besties shelf, without question.

3.25⭐

Wished was an okay read. I'm not a fan of insta love so I tried to ignore the fmc's "love at first sight" moment in the first few chapters.

It took a while for the main characters to properly start interacting. Think it was around the 30% mark. If the pacing wasn't so strange, I probably would have enjoyed this more as it had a good level of spice and tension in the middle of the story.

I was a bit bummed with this one. I’ve loved this series and really enjoyed Fated. I just didn’t feel like I got the connection between the main characters as much and it felt more sexual passion than love.

Anna, a cleaning lady, has quietly harbored a wish to marry the owner of the house she cleans. For years, she has loved him from afar, yet he remains oblivious to her feelings. One wish changed everything, but you realize it’s not what someone else truly desired? Would you be willing to give it all up?

The FMC was a character to root for and love. Her character was very thought out and had a lot of depth. She felt like a character from a 2000s romcom.
The MMC wasn’t my favorite. He was really grouchy. Not even in a cute grumpy way. The ending was wrapped up so beautifully though.

I listened via audiobook. I had a hard time with the male narrator but it didn’t take away from enjoying the book.

thank you to netgalley and the publishers for early access to the book!

i had not realized right away that this was part of a series, so i'm definitely tempted to check out the others in it. overall, i liked the writing of the book. i didn't particularly like max at first, but by the end he had grown on me. i usually take a bit of time to warm up to the "cold and asshole" type of characters.

the insta-love did detract just a bit for me. i like experiencing the characters grow to fall in love or at least understanding their headspace as it happens. just suddenly seeing him and falling in love is a hard pill to swallow for me lol. especially since she'd only been cleaning his house up until that point and had never had a face to face interaction with him. it was hard to believe she really loved him for him when she'd never spoke to him until that point.

i did enjoy the book though. i kept continuing wondering how things were going to end up, especially with the whole magic part of the story. the ending felt just a touch rushed, but overall i enjoyed the book. the prologue was very sweet at the end and i enjoyed the ride. 3.75 stars for me, but i rounded up a little for the star rating on here. :)

Book Review - Wished by Sarah Ready

This book was a unique one and not a concept I’ve ever really come across again. The only comparison I could make would be The Midnight Library with multiple alternate realities the FMC tries out so to speak.

This was a billionaire romance with a twist and a little bit of magic! It was definetely not what I was expecting but was overall easy to follow and enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the ending for this one!

3 🌟 for me

Anna Benoit is a self described romantic, allergic to lying, loves nothing more than to clean houses and help people. Max Barone owns a jewelry empire, fancies himself a shadow daddy (but really, really isn’t), and has no personality outside of being scared of passion. One day Anna finds a fancy necklace while cleaning Max’s apparently beautiful but lacking in architecture—just towering???—mansion. Since she’s wanted to be a genie since she was a child and, for some reason, that means when she wishes upon this necklace that was not hers, her wish of being Max Barone’s wife comes true.

Suddenly, they’ve been married for seven years. Anna doesn’t remember a lick of it, and Max can remember both timelines.

This was a really interesting premise but it just kind of… fell flat. I really can’t fault the narrator of the audiobook, because I think she did her best to give two people without personalities something for the reader to hold on to. The male narrator was a little too dark for the character and it didn’t sound believable. However, I just found the characters too good to be true. Anna, specifically, did literally nothing to help her situation. I swear she kind of bumbled through until everyone else solved her problems.

The plot was cute, but boring. The characters were two dimensional. The spice was… so “good” it was cringy.

This was my first dive into Sarah Ready, and I’d try it again because I think she COULD write something really good, but this was mid for me.

Thanks to the author and the publisher via netgalley for this ARC!
