The premise of this book hooked me. And I was definitely in it for the wild ride that became Anna's "reality". This book kept me guessing, had me swooning, and I fell in love with the idea that maybe, just maybe, if you wished for something hard enough it might just come true. Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC. The narrators were perfect and made this such a wonderful and easy listen.
5 stars.
the concept of this book was so fun and honestly nothing like anything I've read before. I really enjoyed this book and the author's creativity. at some points it did drag and felt a little redundant, but all in all it was an enjoyable book and I would recommend this to someone looking for a unique romance book.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Anna does. She felt it the moment she laid eyes on her stupidly rich client, Max Barone. She is one of the cleaners for the jewelry magnate's mega-mansion and might as well be invisible for as much as he notices her. But she notices him, and for three years she pines after him from afar.
One day while cleaning, she finds a necklace with a note - it makes wishes come true. So she closes her eyes and whispers her most secret wish - that the two of them would be married. Realizing how silly that is, she takes it back, but before she can put the necklace back, he catches her with it, and fires her. Not exactly the way she was hoping to be noticed by him. But when she wakes up the next morning...she finds her dream came true.
Though there is plenty of humor and silly rom-com antics sprinkled throughout, this book is much deeper than the high-concept plot might appear. I found myself contemplating much bigger philosophical questions as I listened to the advanced listening copy I was provided access to by netgalley & the publisher. Questions of free will, honesty, self-sacrifice, what love is (or what it can be), and how we hold ourselves back because of mistakes we've seen modeled for us as we grow.
Max is lonely in that big ol' mansion, and adamant that he will not repeat the mistakes of his father. Anna sees him in the way he keeps his house: the books he reads, the food he eats, the glimpses she gets of him when he works from home. Her life in a small Geneva apartment she shares with her mother and young sister is difficult, and dreaming of Max helps her cope. But will she feel the same when she gets to know him face to face?
This story is another instance of the age-old lesson: be careful what you wish for. Do valuable things have value if you don't have to work hard to get them? And when she realizes the consequences of her mistakes, can Anna undo the phenomenon she set into motion?
I can tell how much thought and craft went into this novel, and I'm intrigued to read more from this series by Sarah Ready. If you're a fan of magical realism, you're really going to enjoy this novel!
I found this book very quirky and fun! The premise intrigued me and I’d listened to one of the other books in this series and also had a good time so I knew I’d enjoy it. I think there are more plot holes in this book than some of the authors other books but I think that’s was a result of the “magic” and would have taken too long to explain when this is a romance book and not a fantasy book. That being said, the plot holes didn’t bother me cause it was such a fun and fast read that I didn’t put much thought behind trying to fill the holes. It’s hard to find a book that fits this specific mood (outside of the other books in their series), so if that’s the vibe you’re going for, definitely give this book a shot!
Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC for an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wished is a cute romance with a unique premise and a wonderful story. This is part of Sarah Ready's Ghosted series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. Anna and Max were wonderful together. I loved the juxtaposition of different worlds and the sense that love can span anything. I thought the characters were intriguing and enjoyable. Most of the book is narrated by Amanda Ronconi, and she did an amazing job bringing me into the world and creating characters that were perfect for the story. I do really wish that it had been more of a dual narration. The only part we hear from Max's perspective is the first chapter and the epilogue. There was a lot of the book that I would have liked to know what he was thinking as well. I was expecting to hear more from his side too, since the beginning was from his point of view. It felt a little incomplete to not come back to him at all. Overall, the book was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend it and am looking forward to going back to more of the books in this series.
Well what a lovely surprise this was! I was looking for an audio to listen to and I will admit it was the book cover that caught my attention. I’ve never read Sarah before, so Wished was a totally new experience for me. I didn’t even read the synopsis, I went in totally blind.
Be careful what you wish for, because for Anna Benoit, who is kind of a human genie, those wishes can come true!
a first for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn’t realise this was part Sarah’s Ghosted series but you can totally read this as a standalone. So I will definitely go back and listen to the other stories.
Anna cleans for the enigmatic Max Barone at his spectacular chateau by Lake Geneva. For three years she has been love with him, but he has never once really acknowledged her. One day cleaning she makes a wish that she is married to Max. What next happens is an upside/parallel world tale, which will take you on an enchanted love story that takes you on an adventure from Geneva, Paris and the French Riviera.
I thought the narrator (it is mainly narrated by Amanda) was fabulous, very engaging and done very well with all the accents. Oh and the spice when it hits is 🥵🔥
Wished is the perfect tale for this fall/spooky season, curled up in a blanket with a hot chocolate.
Really enjoyed!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC audiobook.
I didn't realise this was book 4 in a series but can be read as a standalone.
The story follows FMC Anna Benoit and MMC Max Barone in this magical , twisty turny love story.
Anna has been working as a cleaner for Max Barone for the past three years. For her it was love at first sight, for him not so much.
One day she made a wish on an a very old infamous necklace to be married to Max and for him to love her back.
The very next day , she wakes up as Mrs Anna Barone and they have been happily married for 7 years. Max remembers this alternative life as well as life the came from and in order to get back to their life they both go find the necklace to make a wish to reverse everything.
This book is full of life lessons and a lot of spice.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC. Having never read anything by this author before I was looking for something light and fun to break up my reading pattern lately and Wished was just the right reprieve.
What would you do, if you were admiring the rich and successful and attractive man you’ve been cleaning his house for years, wishing he could be yours only for that wish to come true? It’s would be a dream come true….until you realize this may not be HIS dream come true. Could you give this all up? Would you? That’s what Anna has to decide. But it’s not an easy choice.

This book is part of a series but can easily be read as a stand alone. I can attest to this as I had only previously read one of the book and it didn’t change me experience. The audiobook for this was amazing. The narrators both did a fantastic job and I found myself transported in Geneva and Saint-Tropez.
As a kid I watched countless re-run of I dream of Jeannie and I am a hopeless romantic so this book really spoke to me. There is something magical about falling in love, this book really brings it home.
I loved both Anna and Max. After reading the previous book it is nice to see there was fire and passion in this calm practical man. « If you knew how much I want you in this moment, I think you would run.» 🔥
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ALC all my opinions are my own.
Wished is a fantastic love story that’s a must read for romance and romcom readers. There is the perfect amount of spice that is naturally woven into the story and delicious. I absolutely loved the characters, and falling for them meant feeling all the feels.
Even with multiple stories recently coming out with an alternate universe trope, I felt that this book nailed it. It was so well done, so it didn’t take any effort to suspend disbelief.
This is at the top of my romance reads this year. I highly recommend it!
I listened to the audiobook version of this story which was incredibly well done. I listened at 1.75x speed (my normal audiobook listening speed is 1.75-2x).
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced audiobook copy.
Wished
Overall: 4

Narration: 4
A dreamy story about what happens when you get what you wish for.
Anna has been cleaning Max's estate for the last three years. She fell in love with him at first sight, he doesn't see her. That is, until she makes a wish on a family heirloom and wakes up as his wife on their seventh wedding anniversary. As Anna and Max try to get back to their real life, they will both explore their past thoughts on love and who they want to be.
This is the fourth book in Ready's Ghosted series, but the third one that I've read. I have loved each book and the stories Ready weaves. This book continues as the others with excellent descriptions of the locations. I can imagine that I'm in Paris and Geneva with Anna based on the details provided. Also as with the others, the unique story of magical wishes keeps me hooked and guessing what will happen and how they will reach their HEA. Ready offers only small glimpses of the characters from the other books, so this can easily be read as a stand alone. I did love a line at the beginning that was poking fun at the premises of the earlier books. Would highly recommend to fans of magical realism romances.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me access to this book,
I can't say it's one that I would particularly recommend and I struggled to finish it. An easy read but not really for me I'm afraid

Wished is the fourth book in the Ghosted Series. This is the first book I’ve read by Sarah Ready. I went into this with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised! The story was unique. Anna cleans Max’s house and has been in love with him for years, but he doesn’t even know her name. One day Anna makes a wish that she and Max were in love and married. The story is full of twists and turns that kept me interested! I was constantly asking myself, “what would I do in Anna’s position?” She had to make some hard choices after being given exactly what she wanted. It was really interesting to watch Anna’s wish come true, but then have to decide if that’s truly what she wanted and if it’s best for her and Max.
I listened to this book on NetGalley. Amanda Ronconi & Will Watt did a great job! 🎧
I didn't enjoy this book half as much as any other book in the series. While the premise was engaging and promising, I was confused by the lack of depth in the characters and plot building. From the third book in the series, I was intrigued by Max Barone, but his depiction in this novel doesn't do justice. The insta love didn't feel genuine at all and I'm just sorely disappointed by the execution of this book. The plot didn't exist apart from there being a 'wish'. MC barely had personalities. Side characters had minor to no role in the story. What makes me so upset is that this author is one of my favorites and I'm obsessed with the other books in this series, but this just didn't do it for me.
I loved the characters at the beginning and that it was a great way to start at the beginning with his pov, which is different with her other book where it was at the end or we didn't have it.
It was a little hard to like Max at the beginning because of the way he acted was so different at how he was in Fated, which was weird.
It was interesting how we got to see both characters get together but I was conflicted when the plot starts, also it felt a little rushed or out of nowhere how they just start loving each other.
Something that was interesting to see was thatthis book was much more spicy than the previous books in the series, I loved that it wasn't a long story which with the audiobook it made me want to just finish the book, it was a good way to end the series, not the best but it gives so much closure to all this characters.
I am so thankful to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this book and the series in general.
I've read everything by Sarah Ready and I've loved all of them, and this one was no different. It wasn't my favorite of this series, but it was still very good.
It's got some of my favorite tropes:
. He falls HARD
. Boss x Employee
. More than 2 sex scenes that are VERY steamy <3
I also listened to the audio and the main narrator, Amanda Ronconi, did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. The male narrator, Will Watt, also did an amazing job for the little part that was told from the MMC's POV.
I think I would have liked the story more if I listened to it first instead of reading it first.
i really enjoyed this book. wished is a romantic comedy with a touch of spice and i realy liked that .
i think that this book was really good and it actually nade me chuckle sometimes.
3.5/5⭐️
A fun rom com with a touch of magical realism, and some spice!
Anna has been cleaning Max's house for years. She watches him from afar and falls in love with him. Max hardly notices Anna. When she makes a with on a necklace and it comes true she finally gets what she wants. But does she?
I loved this one. The dialogue between Max and Anna was great, especially Max in love. And we all need a friend like Doreen to give us advice. She had me laughing out loud. And the setting! I just put Geneva, Paris and St. Tropez on my bucket list!
I highly recommend this one to anyone that enjoys a good rom com.
This was a fun romance read with a supernatural twist! I've enjoyed all of the books in this series. I liked "Ghosted" and "Fated" a little more because they were a little more suspenseful and dramatic, but I still enjoyed "Wished." I liked how the jewelry played into the plot and I liked the main characters. This book was a little spicier than the others, so be ready for that! I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
I thought that the book was ok. It was too slow for my like and also very confusing for most of the book. There was not lot of background information to help with the plot. It just fell flat for me.
