Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of this audiobook. I was Soo hooked on this book. I loved the storyline and the characters. A house cleaner who’s always been curious who the owner of the house was infatuated with this style, books he read, the way he smelt but had never really talked to him. Well, she jokingly wished to be married to him and woke up to that being true. But he didn’t wake up to that being his reality. I thought this book was funny and romantic
. I was so entertained and finished it in one sitting.
Wished is a fun little dose of magical realism. I was kindly given the audiobook and physical book to review from NetGalley and I have really enjoyed going between the two. It was very light and low stakes and I loved the way Max loved Anna. It made me laugh and blush and I didn't want to put the book down so its well worth the 4 stars to me!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!
I really enjoyed this story. The concept of the wish, the inner conflict of the female MC with her choice, the male MC understanding he never allowed himself the freedom of love, etc.
I also really appreciated that it didnt wrap up with a bow at first. She came too and nothing was the same. She thought he forgot, not realizing his wish as well. He had to find her for the resolution. I thought that was a nice small twist to how it could have ended.
At first i didnt love the MMC, but he grew on me over time. His grumpiness was mostly a cover to protect himself, which made sense after you learn more about him.
**Audiobook Review: "Wished" by Sarah Ready**
*Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)*
Listening to "Wished" by Sarah Ready in audiobook format brings an extra layer of enchantment to this whimsical and heartwarming romantic fantasy. The story, already captivating in its own right, is elevated by the performance of the narrator, who breathes life into the characters and adds depth to the magical tale of love, wishes, and self-discovery.
**Narration:**
The narrator's performance in "Wished" is a standout element of the audiobook. Their ability to differentiate between characters through distinct voices makes it easy to follow the dialogue and immerse yourself in the story. The narrator captures the essence of Anna Benoit, the protagonist, with a voice that reflects her romantic optimism and occasional self-doubt. Max Barone, the enigmatic and handsome object of Anna's affections, is given a smooth, confident tone that perfectly matches his mysterious persona. The narrator also effectively conveys the novel’s emotional beats, from moments of light-hearted humor to more poignant, introspective scenes, enhancing the listener’s connection to the characters and their journey.
**Story:**
"Wished" follows Anna Benoit, a hopeless romantic who suddenly finds herself living out her wildest dream: being married to Max Barone, the man she’s been secretly in love with for years. This unexpected twist comes after a simple wish, sending Anna into a world where everyone believes she and Max have been happily married for years. As Anna navigates this new reality, she begins to question whether the perfect love story she’s always dreamed of is truly what she wants—or if she’s meant to write a different ending for herself.
The audiobook format works particularly well for this story, as the magical realism and romantic tension are brought to life through the narrator’s pacing and tone. The dreamlike quality of Anna's wish-come-true scenario is enhanced by the narrator’s ability to shift between the fantastical elements of the plot and the more grounded, emotional moments. This balance keeps the listener engaged and invested in Anna’s journey of self-discovery.
**Overall Experience:**
Listening to "Wished" as an audiobook is a delightful experience that adds an extra layer of immersion to the story. The narrator’s skilled performance complements Sarah Ready’s charming writing, making it easy to get lost in Anna’s world and the magical possibilities that come with it. While the story itself is a light and enjoyable read, the audiobook version enhances the emotional depth and humor, making it a great choice for listeners who love romantic fantasies with a touch of whimsy.
Whether you’re a fan of audiobooks or simply looking for a new way to experience a good romance, "Wished" is a fantastic option. It’s a tale that reminds us that sometimes, the stories we wish for aren’t as simple as they seem—and that discovering what we truly want might be the most magical journey of all.
Sarah Ready does it again! I love her takes on romance novels, and the twist that she puts into her stories. You have a workaholic that has sworn off love because of his parents and decided at a young age that he doe not want to follow in their miserable footsteps, and a women who believes in love at first sight but also believes in making others wishes come true by sacrificing her own dreams and happiness.
After getting “caught” stealing she is fired from her cleaning job that she has of cleaning the mansion of Max, but when they wake up the next morning they both have 7 years of memories that are forming, and after realizing that its more that a hangover from a night of drinking and that the necklace that she was fired for stealing really did grant her the wish that she had been wanting, and that was for Max to notice her. After they both decide to dog to Paris where the memories star they slowly start to fall for each other, and after realizing that falling in love with someone isn’t as terrible as he had alway believed, they both make wishes on the necklace again, she wishes to undo as agreed upon and he wishes to love her without question. They wake up the next morning and she remembers everything and believes that the wish made it worse not knowing that he had made a wish as well. The following her heart on what to do so that she doesn’t ruin his life any further, she must figure it out on her own since the wish wiped his memory of the life they had before the wishes. The narrators did an amazing job bringing this story to life and I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. I love dual narrators when it comes to two main characters, and bringing each one to life with their own voice.
I loved the story and I’m very grateful to have read the book. With that being said, I had an issue with the male lead character, I kept on thinking he was going to shake things up and announce he was Dracula. Haha I just couldn’t get over his voice. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it through the book for that reason.
I was lucky enough to receive the arc ebook for Wished, and I was curious about the audiobook as well. I knew I loved this book I just love hearing people read to me, and the narration for this was very good.
Everyone enjoys a heartwarming story of wishes coming true, right? This was a charming and fast-paced read that I enjoyed, although it didn’t quite capture my heart. The characters were well developed and the plot showed potential, though I found the middle of the book lacking. The romance felt a bit rushed, lacking complexity. I believe alternating perspectives between Max and Anna would have added depth to the narrative. Despite these flaws, I still found it enjoyable, particularly loving Anna’s kind and giving nature.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
What is in this series that each new book I am enthralled by the story and cannot stop reading.
The wished marriage makes perfect sense., I didn’t question it. Justice for Max, he finally has found the love of his life. How does Sarah Ready comes up with these stories, they are believable and amazing.
The audiobook was amazing, Max narrator was perfect.
A very fast and very enjoyable read. The story is about Anna Benoit, a cleaning lady who secretly pines for her boss, Max. When a wish suddenly transforms her into Max's wife, Anna’s life is turned upside-down.
Anna’s character is a joy to follow, even if her instant love for Max feels a bit rushed. However, as the story unfolds, she just turns out to be very fun and relatable to read about.
Personally, I didn't always feel great about the pacing, but this didn't make the book less enjoyable. The plot, though familiar, is enriched by magical realism and a lot of heartwarming moments.
Overall, *Wished* is an enjoyable read that may not be perfect, but its mix of magic, romance, and endearing characters makes it a memorable read.
The first book I read in this series was Fated (Ghosted #3). I absolutely loved that book. Just a touch of magic made it special. So I was delighted that this book was about the left-behind, best friend, Max. and there's another special touch of magic in this book.
Max's cleaning lady, Anna, who is good hearted, a hard worker, and an optimist, falls head over heels in love with him, the lord of the manor, the first time she lays eyes on him. She finds a fabulous piece of jewelry that, when wished upon, grants wishes. The reader will find that the wish granted was not perfect. There are some glitches in the matrix.
I really enjoyed this story. I don't rate this a full five, but it comes close enough, especially with my carry-over feelings from Fated, that I decided to rate it with 5 stars.
I listened to the audio version of the book. While there are two narrators for the book, Amanda Ronconi narrated the vast majority of the book and I thought she was a perfect voice for this book.

Anna Benoit is a selfless, hardworking sweetheart who just wants to be loved. She's selfless and helps support her family by cleaning with her friend/boss: Doreen. She has a crush on her millionaire boss. When Anna makes a wish on her boss (Max Barone's) family heirloom, she doesn't expect it to come true.
The next morning, they find themselves married. It seemed like everyone was gaslighting Max at first because he had no clue what was going on and it was a little strange that Max was able to have 7 years of memories shortly thereafter.
It took me a little longer to read/listen than most books. I wish I could have gotten into it more, but this was still so cute.

wished is a story about a girl anna benoit who cleans max barone’s chateau for a living. in the years she’s spent working for him, she fell in love. the only issue- he barely notices she exists. that is, until anna makes a wish on a magical necklace that they would be married.
characters
anna benoit:
I really loved her character! one thing I didn’t like was how insta-lovey she could be at times but once I got past that, she really grew on me! she was such a sweetheart <3
max barone:
it was kinda weird reading about him after his part in fated but honestly, I’m so happy for him :,) he finally met the one.
he was so grouchy in the beginning of the book and at the end he’s such a softie. i actually love him sm😭 sarah ready writes the BEST book bfs. first henry, then aaron, now max bruh. I’ll take them all .
plot
i really enjoyed the plot, as with the other books from this series. the only thing I didn’t like, as mentioned earlier, was the insta-lovey feel at the beginning of the book. (hence the .25 off the rating). but later in the book it definitely got better!
overall
this was a good book! not my favorite from the series so far (one left to go!) but still an enjoyable romance. the montmartre scene was so so cute :,) i would recommend this one! & the rest of the series <3
a big thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. all opinions here are my own!

𐙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙙:
This was a cute book and it would be perfect for a summer beach read.
It was really easy to read and follow along with, I think that audiobook narrators Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt did an amazing job with the pacing and narration of the story. I think without them honestly I might have dnf’ed this one. It played out like a Netflix Original movie in my head and not necessarily a good one.
𐙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚:
I feel like this book lacked romantic build up big time. I didn’t feel connected to these characters or their relationship at all and because of this none of the “stakes” in the book felt like an actual threat.
I feel like if this book had more character building and we got to see the characters bond more it would’ve been so much better.
First, I received an audiobook arc from Net Galley.
Now, this book is a book full of wishes, hope and life lessons. True love at its best. I refuse to spoil it for you but if you enjoy a good love story with a few laughs and life lessons, this is the book for you.
The narrators truly bring the characters to life. They did an excellent job.
I absolutely loved this book!
I wasn’t sure what to expect. But this is a very cute steamy romcom.
I don’t realize that this book is part of a series. I haven’t read the other ones but they look like ones you can read by themselves.
I loved the narrators, and I think it made me enjoy the book more. The story while simple and easy to predict was still a good time.
I think that sums up this book a cute, fun, good time
I really enjoyed this book. I had not heard of this series. I felt as if it was a stand alone but now I will be seeking out the others in this series.
I loved the genie and time loop aspect of this story. I also love how thoughtfully she switched the perspectives.
The spice was really good but I do prefer more of a slow burn.
I loved this book! I thought Anna was a very likable character and while it took a minutes to love Max, I definitely did by the end! I loved how they gave an undated us on the other couples at the end, very satisfying book, I would recommend it!
gosh, I really wanted to love this after being introduced to our hero, max, in the previous book in the series, fated. there, he was in love (or so he believed) with his best friend...but since she was destined for another, he had to wait for his moment, for his true leading lady.
sadly, the reality of wished fell short of its potential. the pacing of the romance between max and anna had a lot of stops and starts due to the inclusion of magical elements that were pretty poorly designed. thanks to a wish made by anna, the pair wake up one day to discover their lives have been altered, that they have been married for seven years. but because of this timeline change, their connection felt forced since previously, max barely paid anna an ounce of attention in the three years they were acquainted.
overall, I just wanted more for their love story. wished had some whimsy and charm, but failed to convince me these two were always meant to be. with novels that have magical realism elements, that is what I read them for, to feel as though the universe always had a plan for two individuals. the opposite happened here with it seeming as though fate's hand was forced by one character's misguided desire.
thanks to sarah ready and swift and lewis publishing for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Wished by Sarah Ready is an enchanting tale that captivated me from the first page.
The story follows Max, the MMC, whose journey is filled with unexpected twists, heartfelt moments, and plenty of humor.
Sarah engaging writing style creates a magical and comforting atmosphere.
The book’s charm lies in its perfect blend of romance, humor, and whimsy, making it hard to put down. Max’s story is both fun and addictive, making it a delightful escape for myself.
The audio was yet again, an outstanding example of picking the right narrator for the right story.
Thank you Sarah Ready, and Swift & Lewis Publishing, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review
