Being a huge fan of Alice retelling this was a great change to my usual dark retelling.

This was light hearted and fun. The target audience is middle grade/ teens / ya and whilst being a bit older than the intended audience I loved how easy it was to read but also had a great story that moved at a reasonable pace

I would love to have read the story of Alice’s first encounter and game with the knave the first time as there is few references to this (maybe a prequel could be written ?.) but this is only a minor thing and doesn’t really impact the

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite storylines to read. I was very interested to read "From Wonderland, With Love" as another adventure, though a difference lens. Interesting read and easy flow to the writing style. Lovers of Wonderland will enjoy this version.

my opinion on from wonderland, with love is that a short quick book that anyone can read without it taking too long , i enjoyed the book especially the characters, for example the knave and his personality , I also like how the ending was left on a sort of cliff hanger which makes you wonder what else Alice is going have to do? however i feel like the outcome which happened to the knave was kind of anti-climatic and that there should've been more to it, other than that its a great book.

I adored this book from start to end. The writing was phenomenal and I loved the whimsy aspect of it that was brought in from the original Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait to read the next one as well.

This was fun! It was nice being back in Wonderland with familiar characters from my childhood. Jeffrey Westhoff did an impeccable job at carrying on Lewis Carroll’s legacy.

Great for children, teens, and even our Alice loving adults, I highly recommend From Wonderland With Love!

An interesting enough take on the Wonderland story, but it just didn't grab me the way I wanted it too. It feels like a continuation of Lewis Carroll's work, and I mean that in a good way, but I think I was looking for something a little more modern when I picked this book up. It's just a little boring in the beginning and I didn't love it a lot. It was decently good over all though, and I enjoyed reading it.

Let me start by saying that there is nothing inherently wrong with this book. The story flows nicely and the writing is pretty good! However, I don’t think this is a book for me. As a massive fan of the original works, I will always seek out new books that are inspired by Alice in Wonderland, but this one felt a lot like the author was trying to come up with a sequel to the original instead of giving his on spin on the existing story and I don’t love that.

This was an interesting read, I went into it blind, unsure of what to expect. My daughter is obsessed with Alice in Wonderland currently, so I decided to read it to see what I thought, thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read the ARC of this. I would absolutely let my eleven year old read it, and be able to discuss it with her once we get a copy for her. Well done to Jeffrey Westhoff, I think that it was a faithful continuation of Carroll's world.

This was a great retelling! I loved all the wonderland references throughout the story. I really enjoyed following Alice in this book and seeing her reimagined as a spy. This was an enjoyable read that I didn’t want to put down.

When the nefarious Knave of Hearts steals T.A.R.T.S. (a very powerful and very secret weapon) from Wonderland, the King and Queen send the White Rabbit to recruit the most qualified person they know for a recovery mission: Alice. Just like that, she is sent into Looking-Glass Land with her super spy gadgetry and her knack for getting into trouble - what could go wrong? 

Alice is older and yet her head is still very much stuck in the past. She doesn’t fit in amongst her so-called friends and family and feels very much at home in what she believes is her dreamland. Wonderland and Looking Glass Land seem to bring out the best in her character, though she seems rather naive about a lot of things. Sure, she has had a more sheltered life and her imagination runs wild, but I had thought she would have more common sense and wherewithal. Yes, she manages to seek resolutions to events that occur in the book but it seems like in between those moments, she’d rather just go off and pretend all is well and that nothing could ever bother her.

Once I saw the blurb for this story, I knew I wanted to jump in and read it. I am a big Disney fan and love Alice in Wonderland so this was a book I had high hopes for. The plot was relatively good with a decent flow. It was for sure packed with whimsy left, right and centre but I’m not sure that made up for the somewhat simple writing or slightly repetitive plot. There were moments I felt were repeated, others that felt silly or unnecessary. Why would Alice be a spy who must be incredibly secretive with her mission and yet everyone knows she’s a spy? Rather defeats the purpose for me. The characters were pretty well described and fleshed out. All were familiar from the original stories which was a bonus as it allowed a sense of continuity. I did occasionally feel that there could have been a little more description into character actions and intents. Alice is older and thus would be seeing more in a person’s disposition than when she was younger. The ending wasn’t too bad. I’m glad this story came to a good resolution. The ending has been left open with a sequel coming in the future. Whether I will read it or not, I’m not sure at this stage but I won’t lie - it does sound intriguing.

Overall From Wonderland, With Love is a good twist on a future Alice story.

My Synopsis:
Five years after Alice comes back from Wonderland for the first time, she is called back for a special mission. Retrieve the T.A.R.T.S that the Knave of Hearts has stolen. She is recruited as a spy, given special equipment, and sent through a mirror to Looking-Glass Land. She races through the land, meeting old characters and new as she tries to stop the Knave of Hearts before his nefarious plan to spread chaos begins.

This is the first book in a series; the second book, ‘Tinker, Tailor, Hatter, Spy’ is in progress. This book is a continuation of the two Alice in Wonderland books from Lewis Carroll. Even though this
book mentions and talks about the events in the two previous books, it is not necessary to read them to enjoy this book.

Personal Take:
This is an amazing middle-grade/teen fantasy book. It has all the cool elements of a different world: including plenty of action, adventure, and mystery.

Perfect for middle-grade readers and
teen and young adult who love fantasy and adventure mixed with spies and spy gadgets. As my first book from this author, I was slightly concerned that something nasty would pop up, but there was nothing like that at all. It was perfectly clean and fit for younger readers.

The characters were all enjoyable, their personalities giving life to
the story; Alice’s personality especially made the book all the more
interesting as we got to see the world from a twelve-year-old’s perspective. One of the other most interesting characters was the Knave of Hearts. He had such compelling arguments about how the
King and Queen were always higher than him… although he must not know of
Crib.

There were no plot holes or inconsistencies in the story, and the
the ending was well written, making me interested in the next book in the series. The story never dragged, keeping me completely interested till the very end. The writing style was different from most books I have read as Alice’s thoughts are fully known, and we see everything from
a twelve-year-old’s perspective, which gives a different view of the world.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series and would like to find more books like this. Definitely a five-star read.

This book is a sequel to the two 'Alice In Wonderland' novels, but by a different author.

I'd just like to talk about how well-written this book was. You can tell the author put a lot of hard work into it by the writing style. It seemed exactly like the books by the original author himself and the plot included many of the past characters in it, incorporating their stories in so it felt like a continuation, instead of a new series. I think the way Jeffrey changed the part about the tarts was genius and that I can't wait for the next book.
I can see why people might not like this, seeing as it feels almost the same, but in my opinion I loved the original books, so it wasn't a problem.

My Thoughts:
This was a wonderful read. I was so excited to be back in one of my favorite classics Alice in Wonderland and the Looking Glass. When I saw the cover, I knew I had to check it out!
This is a story of bravery, love and laughter, of dreams and imaginations. I love the author's writing and how he managed to to keep the writing style and humor the same as original. Afterall the puns and the wordplay is the real magic behind wonderland stories :) The story for me was like I was meeting my old friends from childhood- cheshire cat, humpty dumpty, white knight and of course dear Alice. I also liked how the author showed the devasting consequences of nuclear war in the story with T.A.R.T.S.

The ending left me hanging. In a good way ofcourse! If there is a book 2 which I really hope there is one, I would love to read it. Can't wait for Alice's next mission! Overall a great cozy read full of adventures 😀

The only thing I wish was that the ARC was in Kindle format for easy readability.

♣️ I understand I wasn't part of the book's intended target audience. It states middle grade/ teen / YA ... and I'm years past that, but my inner child almost inhaled this book - I couldn't turn (tap) the pages quick enough. I finished within a day.

♦️As an Alice in Wonderland fan, I really appreciated the references to the cast of characters I grew up with.

I especially appreciate that the voice of Alice is done so well in the book - she's growing up, she's now 12, and this is portrayed within her dialogue and reflections.

I couldn't help smiling reading this book and chuckling at the conversations and observations of Alice.
It's an easy and very welcome world to slip back into.

I think the author did a fantastic job in imagining Alice as a spy. The book ends with the reader knowing that another story is in the works, and I would definitely love to read more.

A book packed full of fun, adventure, and light heartedness. I need a physical copy for my bookshelf.
