Paige comes back after a year long trip to find her friend Jenna hiding things. When Jenna suddenly leaves, Paige knows something else is really going on. She starts asking questions, searching her house, following people. When she finds her laptop, she asks another friend to hack into it. Paige finds some videos Jenna made that she deleted. Now Paige thinks Jenna is in danger and has to find her. Who is this man Jenna was in a relationship with? Why does her brother have Jenna’s necklace. Was it Jenna that screamed the night of the bbq?? It was rather long. Could def be better if shorter. As I got toward the end, I lost interest and started skimming. I did not see the ending coming. Like at all. But it Def could have been summed it in less pages.

this story is so addictive read it in a day. Paige is back from her travelling. her parents have put on a barbecue it's their turn to host the neighborhood barbecue. Paige does not quite know what's going on with her best friend Jenna as she has been distant and not coming to hers for barbecue that night all the guests hear a very high-pitched scream that leaves them all on edge. then Paige gets a text of Jenna to say she is going away. Paige is convinced that scream was Jenna, no one else is worried about her so Paige tries to put the pieces together what's happened to her friend. each Neighbour has something to hide its so good

A fast paced multi character narrative of a young woman’s possible disappearance. All that the characters can really agree on in the beginning is that everyone heard a loud terrified cry during a neighborhood barbecue that remained unexplained. Each character’s narrative contributes to Paige attempting to establish where her best friend Jenna is and unravel the mystery surrounding her. All of the neighbors are harboring secrets. The story has many twists and some unlikely villains.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I have mixed feelings about this book. I found much of it quite slow, and I felt too many different narrators were used, introducing half-finished threads which didn't add anything to the story and weren't explored enough to be engaging. However, the central storyline of Paige and Jenna was excellent, the twists introduced were completely unpredictable and Robertson created real tension.

This book is fantastic! It had so many twists & turns that I didn’t see coming. I couldn’t put it down and read it just a few hours. I love how all the characters are linked & their lives are connected. Definitely one to keep you guessing! Highly recommend it.
I will definitely be reading more for this author.

First book I have read from this author and I enjoyed it. It kept me wanting to read more drawing lots of twists and bad behaviour of the characters. I would definitely read another offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Another brilliant book from this author who I have followed since his first book. Full of twists and turns, secrets and dishonesty from the families involved.

The storytelling was extremely well written and everything brought together for a satisfactory conclusion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this great ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Secrets can cause so much chaos. A missing sister…who has her? Where is she? Can revealing the secret harm her or protect her? Unanswered questions in this thought provoking novel by a talented author…this is a page turner. Realistic characters keep the story moving quickly. Thanks Netgalley.

When you have been best friends for many years with someone, it's no wonder you share everything and you can read each other like a book. You can try to hide your emotions during a phone call or a video call, but as soon as you are face to face, there is no point denying it.

Paige and Jenna are two such great friends and that's why Paige is determined to dig deep enough to find out what is going on. It seems like she is the only one who thinks it's all rather odd...

I like this kind of set up : a few families living on the same street, interacting with each other. They often have a great life on the outside, but behind closed doors it seemed like there is more than one secret being hidden. Of course, they will all surface in the end.

I love it when it's all being kept vague until the end. It makes you suspect everyone and not being able to pick one name. In the end I decided on who to put my money on and I am so happy I did not place a real bet, because I would have lost my money. :)

A thrilling read, with lots of secrets and thus lots of possible culprits. It also a story that proves that real friendship never dies.

I had a very good time devouring this excellent book. 5 stars

Thank you

A cleverly written book which i read in two sittings.
The suspects keep on coming the further you read and i was a good way through until the penny dropped.
Also none of these neighbours are perfect, they all have there issue's. Just like real life!
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

Jenna has been on a gap year to Australia, after a harrowing experience at University. Her parents have a neighbourhood party, and Jenna's best friend, Paige does not attend.
During the party, there is a frightened cry outside the house, but when investigated, there is no one there. Jenna has a gut feeling that it was Paige who screamed. Then Paige disappears. Jenna is the only one that feels that Paige is in danger.

This is a gripping novel, with many suspects in Paige's disappearance, twists and turns galore. It was only very late in the novel where I suddenly twigged who took Paige.
Excellent and well crafted psychological thriller.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the digital copy
