An easy read/listen.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the chance to listen to this audio version of this book.
The book was good and I enjoyed it but the characters could have had more depth and it would have been good to get a point of view from someone other than the main character, Jocelyn.
I thoroughly enjoyed this I felt the story plot was not overshadowed by the spice despite there being a lot of it. I’d recommend it to someone who may want to read a spicy Romance but is new to the genre. The ending did feel slightly rushed but overall I enjoyed the expierience. Also I thought the narration of this was fab!
DNF. This had so much potential but just felt a little confusing and like it wasn't planned out before writing. There's some really key topics covered around the darker side of the ballet and toxic friendships, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. It wasn't bad as such, but I really didn't have any motivation to pick it back up
I recently listened to the audiobook "The Unraveling" by Melanie Hamrick. The narration by Summer Morton was definitely a highlight. Her voice and interpretation of the various characters contributed significantly to the atmosphere, making the listening experience very enjoyable.
The story itself had its ups and downs. Hamrick takes us into the world of ballet, skillfully mixing passion and luxury. Character development was somewhat uneven at times, but overall, it was understandable. The ending had suprising elements, but the last chapters felt a bit rushed.
Overall, I would rate "The Unraveling" 3 out of 5 stars. It’s an entertaining read for fans of ballet dramas with a touch of romance, even if it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Hamrick’s debut novel, "First Position."
I initially loved diving into the world of professional ballet in this book. The intriguing plot, especially around Arabella's past and the mysterious sponsor, kept me hooked. However, the story took a disappointing turn near the end. The final chapter felt rushed and abrupt, as if the author wanted to quickly wrap up the plot without fully exploring the complexities.
The narrator's performance was excellent, but the rushed conclusion left me feeling a bit let down. Despite that, I'm curious about the author's other book featuring Arabella's best friend. The glimpse into her character has piqued my interest.

✨ LGBT
✨ Erotica Romance
✨ Ballerina
✨ Jocelyn is the main character in this story. A little girl in a small town of Louisiana who dreamed to be famous and encourage by her mother to go for it even though her mother starve her to chase up their dreams.
She spirals into world of lust to get sponsored by one of the richest man who was married.
Affair was in this story so may trigger someone .
Also, she was attracted too one of the girl too.
The narrated version of this was great. The narrator gave this book life and wow you can feel the emotion of a girl who wants will do anything to get recognise.
✨ Really enjoyed this book but this may be a little to erotica for someone starting new.
The ending was rush and not that I hope for . Overall it was a good book especially with the world of rich and famous.
✨ Thankyou @harpercollins for the arc copy of this book for a honest review.

This was a high quality well narrated audio book. The burb implies this is mainly about ballet. However for me this was more about sex. There was many weird highly descriptive sex scenes and acts. There was an attempt to weave them into the ballet story. For me the character was then more fixated on sex, lust and the ballet became an afterthought complex sex triangles did nothing for me. It was a quick listen. I just felt the main character became too obsessed with sex for the ballet stuff to have the impact the blurb implied. It had black Swan vibes but should be aimed more at romance readers. The story itself was predicatable and the ending was too neat.
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author and narrator.
This book started well and i enjoyed delving into the world of professional ballet. I was invested in the beginning and extremely intrigued..about her past..her sponser…Arabella and her ex and enjoyed seeing the story unravel and trying to see who was genuine and who had more sinister motives.
But then the book got to a point and then it felt rushed and concluded extremely fast in the final chapter and rather than see it all pan out, it felt like we were just told everything that happened in a quick summary to wrap it up rather than it unfolding and being shown and that was disappointing and let down the book for me.
The narrator did a great job, and despite the rushed ending of this book i will likely check out the authors other book as my interest has been piqued about her best friend who is the main character in that one.
I am of two minds on this title. Although I enjoyed the narration and the present day storyline, I found the flashbacks into the past distracting and, although I believe they were designed to further develop the main character, I found them mostly predictable and unnecessary. More focus on the present day events would have been a much better use of text.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
**Listened to the audiobook**
Oh I hated this.
I found the narrator really whiney and annoying.
I found the story to just revolve around the s*x! But not even in a really saucy way!
I'm always up for a bit of 'spice' - but this was just so full!! Not enough plot, and not enough sauce either.
Just rubbish!!
As a reader, this blurb instantly pulled me into Jocelyn Banks’ world—a world where ambition and desire collide in the most captivating way. Jocelyn’s story of hustling her way from rural Louisiana to the prestigious London’s Royal National Ballet is intriguing, and her need for control makes her relatable and complex. But it’s her explosive chemistry with Alistair Cavendish that really hooked me. The tension between duty and desire is palpable, and I can’t wait to see if Jocelyn can resist the allure of lust and luxury or if she’ll succumb to a seductive spiral of self-sabotage. This feels like a perfect mix of Black Swan and Fifty Shades of Grey, with plenty of drama, eroticism, and the gritty reality of elite ballet. From the rave reviews, it’s clear this book is going to be a dark, steamy, and addictive ride. I’m ready to be swept away!
Wow, this book could be played out in a ballet. It is a work of art in grieve and self sabotage. Jocelyn is spiralling or “unravelling” but doesn’t notice between good and bad. She needed to step away from Jordan despite his love and caring nature so she could find herself and get back to dancing. But she made bad decision after bad decision and the spiral kept getting worse.
I won’t give much away but I found myself enthralled with the book, the Start was a bit slow and I am not a big fan of ballet books but the second act where the unravel started to show was so vivid.
I both read and listens to this book thanks to NetGalley providing an arc to read and review.
