This was such a lovely book. The artwork is one of the best I’ve ever seen in a children’s book. I didn’t really care for the first couple of short stories but the main story, Journey to the Moon, was so much fun! I would have happily given this a 5 star review but I don’t like the QR codes. Kids spend enough time on screens and they doesn’t need to be brought into reading. This book was amazing on its own.

Luniant is a fun adventure. The pictures are stunning and the embedded videos were my toddler’s favorite part. After finishing the story, we went back and watched all the videos several more times each.

We really liked the first part with the short stories and the blogger persona of luniant. The stories accompanied by the beautiful illustrations and the videos really brought Luniant to life. The content was great for the toddler/preschool age - bugs, silly names, and adventure.

The transition to the chapter story was a little odd following the introduction. There were a few pages of the story that didn’t make sense -a major one was the elder’s wisdom chapter and his exclamation that they’ve already done something like this and they have the power of wishing and magically he knows to light matches with sunlight through a magnifying glass was an odd stretch from the library for blueprints to the magical all knowing elder for dreams coming true by lighting a match.

There was also a major missed opportunity to have a video of the rocket taking off. My toddler asked several times for a video after the waterfall video, but that was unfortunately the last one instead of the finale of the story.

We would read this again for the illustrations and the videos alone.

Honestly, it wasn’t a bad book but it was too short for me and felt like it wasn’t for my age. (I’m 10).It was a really good book for maybe a 6 year old. It was about a little ant who blogs about his life as an adventurous bug who loves to hang out with his best friends. The start of his adventures was an attempt to make a rocket ship to the moon.
