Short Audio book but a good listen its about a family relationships with a bit of espionage thrown in for good measure
A short listen but a very enjoyable thrill ride. Charlie Cooper's half brother goes missing and set out to find him. Although short it's action packed. David Thorpe does an excellent job of narrating this thriller. Thanks to W. F. Howes and Netgalley for this review audiobook copy
I’ve read and enjoyed a number of titles by Mark Dawson and he hits the spot in terms of delivering fast paced and interesting thrillers. Charlie’shalf brother has gone missing and he goes off on a private mission to find him. The tale centres on a cyber security firm and involves Mossad who are also keen to find Reddy, but for different reasons. Charlie’s relationship with Control, his Boss, is strained and inevitably he goes rogue.
I enjoyed this story although compared to some of Dawson’s takes, it felt a little lightweight and almost like a novella. He explores a few characters, but not in great depth and this is basically a well paced search and chase romp. I haven’t noticed previously, but heard a few grammatical howlers; “…his eyes swept the crowd “ for example. No they didn’t. It distracted a little and I hope it’s not a sign of lazy writing. Narration throughout was excellent.
Freddy is in trouble so his half brother travels to Israel to find him. Charlie must use his skill set working for Group Fifteen to find out what Freddy was working on within the ruthless world of intelligence.
Well written and very well narrated novel (I listened to the audiobook). Well paced novel with tension throughout. Good characters and plotl8ne. They may not be close as brothers but family comes first. Let’s hope they find each other.
It is an entertaining listen, ideally while travelling, as this will make any journey pass by like the typical Dawson thrill ride of this latest tale.
