The Return of the Dwarves is an enjoyable, classic, epic fantasy book.
We have multi-POV with effortless flashes into the original Dwarves series. I really liked the snippets of old characters and felt this was a pretty unique way to marry the two series together. However, I still feel you could read this new series without knowing the authors older works.
I loved the prose, but felt the dialogue could be a little clunky at times and there were some sections of info dumping that took me out of the story. This is a common trap for authors when building such large worlds, but didn’t impact my enjoyment of the story overall.
This is action-packed with so many classic high fantasy elements that I adore. I am incredibly intrigued by this tale and think it will greatly appeal to lovers of this genre.
