Another Cross story that’s riveting, (in parts obvious), but a suspenseful, edge-of-seat, fast paced page-turner. There’s intense excitement and extreme situations and weather conditions. Technology is used to weald immense power. Pay close attention, there’s double-cross, and surprises. A cleverly interwoven twin (both definitions) investigation. Highly recommend.

I’ll admit it’s a very long time since I read one of the Alex Cross series of books by James Patterson, but I was a big fan of the early thrillers. I do think, though, that the gap affected my enjoyment of this one – there was a lot of storyline that I’d obviously missed and these gaps weren’t really filled in for those unfamiliar. That’s on me – there are certainly more than enough fans of the series who will have been following throughout and not be looking for recaps – but it does mean that it’s difficult to come to this book as a new reader and easily pick up what’s going on.

It was enjoyable enough but very far fetched in places and honestly felt more like a film than a book. I’m not sure I’d pick up the rest of the series again but I certainly didn’t dislike this and it’s perfect for anyone looking for a fast paced thriller with plenty of action.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in return for an honest review.

Someone is out to destroy the judicial system but as Alex and Mahoney investigate the murders, and John and Bree investigate other aspects, all of them find themselves in danger. Once again the author provides a fast paced, interesting mystery that keeps you engaged from start to finish.

I don't know what more I can say about this series of books that I haven't already... We are in the 30s now and I have read and loved every single book. Jumping on each new release as soon as I get my grubby wee mitts on it!
This book was especially special for me as it really progressed the "M" series arc that has bedazzled and befuddled both the characters and indeed myself for a wee while now... I won't ruin things with any detail just in case you aren't as nuts as me about not reading reviews of series books when you haven't finished playing catch-up yet.
Suffice to say it contains everything you'd expect from a book in this series, and indeed from this author. We have Alex, Sampson and their respective families all doing family stuff and continuing to develop nicely as they all age. Some of which is especially poignant in this book as it is set around Christmas time. We also have the expected action and peril and heart-stopping moments. A nemesis to put to bed, and not before time. There's a lot going on herein and I can't even start to scratch the surface for fear of spoilers. But, to be honest, what do you really need from a review of a series that has gone on this long. If you are new to it, I wouldn't advise jumping in here, ideally start at the beginning and read in order, or if you are familiar - a dipper or a long term obsessed fan - all you need to know is that it's just as good as what has gone before. If you loved them, you'll love this one!
So, basically, all that remains is to thank the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book and start hanging for the next one.

James Patterson introduced the world to Alex Cross in 1993 and 'The House of Cross is the 32nd book featuring Cross. I am new to James Patterson this being the third of his books I have read and the first Cross book. As his millions of readers will have grown to expect this latest novel is a fast paced all action thriller that for me is an enjoyable quick read. Looking forward to reading more of the prolific James Patterson books in the future. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this book.

Brilliant book as usual although I did find some of the plot a little far-fetched! I’d just read book 28 and really believe that was a great help at understanding some of the characters. Definitely recommend

If you’re a die-hard Alex Cross fan, The House of Cross is another chapter in the detective’s long-running saga. But for someone like me, who picked the series back up after seeing a few of the old movies, it didn’t quite hit the mark. I’ve jumped into other long series before and found myself hooked, but this wasn’t one of those times. It felt more like it was tailored for the devoted followers already invested in all the past drama and nuance. If you’re not deeply invested, you might feel like you're missing out on a lot. Definitely one for the dedicated fans!

Unbelievably prolific, this is the 32nd Alex Cross novel, so I’m sure most readers will be familiar with the characters. In this outing Bree and John Sampson are captured and Alex risks all to locate and free them while also trying to solve the murders of a series of top legal minds that are maybe destined for a seat on the Supreme Court.
Once again a fabulous story that sweeps the reader along at great pace.

The House of Cross by James Patterson is another thrilling installment in the Alex Cross series, packed with action and suspense. This time, Alex is up against a serial killer targeting top legal minds, all while trying to save his wife Bree and best friend John Sampson, who go missing during a dangerous mission.

The plot is fast-paced and gripping, with plenty of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. As always, Patterson's short chapters and familiar characters make for an engaging and easy read. I especially enjoyed the family moments with Nana Mama and her recipes, adding warmth to the intense storyline. Though a bit more focused on special agents than previous detective-based plots, it didn’t detract from the excitement.

Longtime fans of the series will not be disappointed, and new readers will enjoy the action-packed, high-stakes drama. A must-read for any Alex Cross fan!

Many thanks to Net Galley and Random House UK for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.
Another fast paced, action packed read from James Patterson, with the renowned character Alex Cross
Alex, Bree and Sampson continue to track down their longtime nemesis, M. The plot is cleverly crafted, great action on the snowmobiles, lots of twists and turns, if you are an Alex Criss fan you will not want to miss this latest instalment.
I always enjoy the parts of the story that include the entire Cross family, in particular Nana Mama and her delicious sounding recipes.
This is another 5 star read from James Patterson.

Thank you to netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advance copy to read.

I have been a longtime fan of James Patterson and the Alex Cross novels. Let me tell you, this did not disappoint.

Fast paced, action packed and filled with drama. We follow the hunt for M whilst elected people are being murdered.

The plot flowed really well, I enjoyed the separate investigation with Bree and Alex.

It always feels like coming home when you read an Alex Cross novel as it has everyone's favourite characters. This was much more special agent based than previous cases that seemed more detective based. But it did not deter from the plot.

Great action read.

I've been a fan of Alex Cross from the early days and I was happy to find that this was a fun, enjoyable thriller once I got all of the connections between people clear in my head. Good to see he's still on form!

Alex Cross is back, and investigating a series of murders of the country's top legal minds. What is the connection between the victims and who is next on the hit list?

Alex's wife Bree is also on a trail, with friend John Sampson. They're picking up the scent of Maestro, which has carried over from previous books. As they draw ever closer to finding out the identity of the elusive M, their lives are in danger too.

Alex faces a race against time to protect his family and friends against an organisation seemingly intent on ruining the House of Cross.

James Patterson's books are usually entertaining and fast paced. The style of writing means that each chapter is short and they hold your interest. Familiar characters, Alex Cross and his wife Bree along with his long term partner Samsun are looking for their nemesis - M. A little slow to start and and the storyline a little far fetched but nevertheless a good read. For a series that has been going since 1993 this does not disappoint. A must for any Alex Cross fans.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK for the advance copy of this book.

Brilliant Cross book, full of mystery and political intrigue.
I love Alex Cross and his exuberant larger than life family.
The plot is fast paced and full of excitement, another great Criss novel!

An entertaining story with two interconnecting threads. Alex Cross is dealing with a case concerning the death of a senior judge.
His wife Bree is investigating the death of Malcomb, a disabled billionaire who died on a remote mountain road in Nevada. James Patterson books are easy to read, with their short chapters and interesting themes, but this one seemed a bit slow to start with. Best to read them in the right order as I didn't understand some of the references.

Another amazing Alex Cross story, it surprises me how quickly I can read such well written book that moves along at pace wit lots of detail and an enthralling story. A professional assassin is murdering senior judicial figures who are being considered as Supreme Court nominees by the newly appointed government. Cross and Mahoney are called in to investigate. Bree, Alex 's wife and John Sampson are trying to get to the bottom of the sudden death of a very wealthy data mining genius who has mysteriously been killed losing control of his vehicle which then plunged into a ravine and exploded. During their investigation they uncovered an identical twin? Recommended

The 32nd installment in the Alex Cross series was an enjoyable and fast-paced read. However, upon further reflection, I have some concerns regarding the substance of certain plot elements, which felt somewhat rushed and underdeveloped.

An unknown assailant is systematically eliminating candidates from a highly confidential list of individuals being considered for appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. The involvement of a mysterious woman captured on CCTV footage and the enigmatic figure known as "M" and his vigilante group adds further complexity to the case. As the investigation unfolds, Alex Cross, Bree Stone, and John Sampson find themselves in imminent danger. Will they manage to escape unscathed and ultimately uncover the identity of the elusive "Maestro"?

All in all, I still had fun reading it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Brilliant new book in the fascinating Alex Cross series of books. The constant twists, turns and new information never cease to amaze me and hold my interest in this fast moving thriller!
Alex Cross has been called in to investigate an ever increasing number of murders, of the greatest legal brains in America. Meanwhile his astute ingenious wife Bree is following another trail with Alex’s best friend John, are the two connected?!
Wonderfully gripping, fascinating and absorbing. This is a fantastic new thriller and can certainly be enjoyed as a stand alone if you haven’t read and of the previous Alex Cross books.
This is a treat for all the thriller lovers out there!
Hugely enjoyable and will be highly recommended.
Thank you NetGalley for the early read, loved this fast paced compelling read!! Brilliant!

After book 31 fell a little bit flat for me, I was intrigued to see where this book would take us.
I will admit it was initially quite a slow burn and I started to wonder if this was the beginning of the end for this series, but then the pace picked up and it felt a lot more like the Alex Cross books I’ve loved in the past.
If you have been with this series from the start it will answer a few questions for you and could it be the end for one of the Cross families biggest nemesis??
Definitely worth a read if you are a fan of Alex Cross.
