Love this series. All the old familiar characters one of the first book series I ever read and still love Alex cross just as much.

Fast paced, edge of the seat thriller.
Alex and his partner are investigating M, while Bree (his wife) and her partner are investigating attacks on judges.
Are the two connected. How is M getting their information and yet isn’t he dead?
I love the short chapters, so easy to think ‘just one more’!
Brilliant, engaging and nail biting.

A very enjoyable load of hokum. As always with Patterson plots, the goodies can shoot ten baddies without a scratch. Also the baddie never shoots the hero when they have the chance. Of course you wouldn't get a sequel if they did. Despite these negative comments it is a fast paced enjoyable easy read not to be taken too seriously.

⭐️⭐️ 2 average stars.
The more recent Cross books have been very disappointing and sadly this is the last one I will read.
A thin plot line about Maestro and yet again a cross over of Bree and Alex’s cases. I just never took to Bree as a character. It was hard to get engaged with the story or the characters.
I think it’s time the author retires Alex Cross - leave him to grow old with Bree, Nana Mama, his high performing kids and Sampson

I'm a huge fan of the Alex Cross books from James Patterson so I was thrilled to be given the chance to review his latest offering.
It was brilliant. All the usual cast of characters and a great plot! Highly recommended.

In The House of Cross, James Patterson delivers yet another high-octane instalment in the Alex Cross series, blending tense action with an emotional punch. This time, the stakes are personal. As a serial killer targets America’s top legal minds, Alex is dragged into the nightmare of all nightmares—his wife, Bree, and best mate, John Sampson, disappear. The plot unravels at breakneck speed, as we follow Cross through twists that leave you breathless.
The emotional depth adds a new layer, making the reader feel Alex’s fear and desperation. Patterson’s knack for short, punchy chapters keeps you flying through pages, though at times the pacing felt a bit too rushed. While not the best in the series, it’s still a gripping, page-turning thriller.
I’d rate this a solid 4 stars. Patterson knows how to keep readers hooked, and this latest Alex Cross outing doesn’t disappoint—it’s a heart-thumping ride.

As always, the latest installment of the Alex Cross series did not disappoint. Although a little slow to start, it picked up the pace and had lots from twists and turns to keep you guessing right to the ending which, again, did not disappoint. Although this is part of a series, it could be read as a stand-alone thriller. Many thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for the ARC.

I am not a fan of books or films with loads of unbelievable escapades, super tough heroes and lots of dead baddies. Picked this book to read as i got mixed up with names.
However this seemed worse than average and reminded of james Bond films of about 40 years ago.
Mysterious super powerful vigilante group Maestro, with headquarters in a mountain with a camouflaged rock face door and shoot outs between the goodies and baddies riding snowmobiles where countless baddies die. Then when the goodies are caught the evil M lets them go to try to make it back to safety!
It is well written and fast paced so i suspect fans of Alex Cross will like it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK for the ARC

I’ve been reading James Patterson on and off for a few years and I really enjoy his books so I was excited to have the chance to read this one!
It started off slower than I would have liked and didn’t hook me from the beginning. It got better towards the end but just didn’t excite me this time around.
Interesting storyline and written well, just needs more excitement from the get go.

Another Alex Cross masterpiece! The chase to M from disrupting the Supreme Court justice system is on. Alex Cross and colleagues survive near death experiences in the attempt to foil the plot. Excellent writing, good story line and satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended.

I was delighted to receive an advance copy of this from netgalley. I really enjoy James Patterson and the Alex cross books. The House of Cross was certainly fast paced- but a little all over the show. The interlinking of Bree’s case and Alex’s seemed unlikely but when Maestro came into the mix it started to make total sense. Fast paced, fairly predictable in parts and very “James bond-y” but a cracker yarn nonetheless A solid 4 stars

I can't believe how many books are in this series.....all different. This book was a one sitting read as every time I went to put it down, something else happened. It's part of a series but I think it could probably be read as a standalone too as basic background is given, (plus I've skipped books if I can't afford them and don't think it hinders my enjoyment of the ones I do read). This book had Alex chasing around trying to find his wife and best friend who had gone missing. It contained plenty of action, which is probably why I read it so fast! A great addition to the series

I really enjoy this book series however I felt this was the first one where it got off to a slow start and took me longer to get in to it than usual. It was still a very good read with thrilling storylines and also reintroduced the M storyline who is now presumed to be dead.
A really good series which I highly recommend.

Cross is called into a case when high powered legal minds are murdered whilst hie wife Bree and Sampson are after a tech billionaire when they go missing and Cross has to solve his own case and also find Bree and Sampson.
I found a lot of the plot unbelievable hence the 3*

This is a worthy addition to the Cross series. A mysterious hidden organisation is trying to assassinate Supreme Court justices in order to create vacancies to influence the court’s decisions. The assassin has early success with three murders all at the time when a new president is being inaugurated to complicate the response. The book is a good read as would be expected and the amount of research that has gone in to it is impressive. Along with that goes a level of detail that can be irritating. No doubt that a reader will want to see how it ends. I recommend the book.

Even though I've read some of this series before I found the beginning to be very slow with a plethora of characters to deal with. Maestro, Cross's arch enemy, appears to have died but Cross still believes the organisation is very dangerous. Meanwhile his wife Bree and her partner John Sampson are tracking the killer of various high profile judges. Then Bree and John disappear.
The final chase to capture the villains before more people die is a high octane chase and very exciting, but the rest of the book is less gripping. It felt rather formulaic and a slow burn with few rounded characters.
Thank you to NetGalley, Random House UK and Cornerstone for allowing me access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A very exciting thriller in the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. A killer is out there and the judiciary is in their sight. Alex Cross is determined to bring the killer to justice. But why the judiciary? It seems someone is trying to skew the system and that person could possibly the head of Maestro, leader of a secret organisation that hoovers data and from its algorithms, good or ill can be the outcome.
If James Bond was a family guy, that would be Alex Cross. Even the destruction of the evil lair, near the end of the novel was like a Bond film.
A rip roaring read but nothing too taxing.

Alex Cross is back in this 32nd instalment of the cracking Cross series.
I must admit I was thinking for the past few books that this series was getting a bit tired. How wrong was I? This has all the trademarks of a classic Patterson. Cliffhangers, tension and twists to keep you hooked. A great book that I absolutely flew through. Loved it.
It’s time to put the guns down, Detective Cross. Even if you knew the way out of this place, we would catch you.
A serial killer is taking out America’s finest legals minds, and Alex Cross is called to investigate their brutal murders.
But during a dangerous mission to track down the killer, his wife, Bree, and best friend, John Sampson, go missing.
To save the people he loves most, Cross has only three goals:
Number one: Find Bree and John.
Number two: Escape.
Number three: Survive.
If he fails, there will be no one left in the House of Cross

Another gripping page turner Alex cross is an amazing series and this is a great addition.
Brilliant twists and the book draws you in from chapter one

You can always rely on James Patterson for a page turning read and this book is no exception. Brilliant from beginning to end. I ove the Alex Cross series and although this is part of a series and I’ve read them all you could enjoy t as a stand alone.
