I learned a lot about Peter Mahoney what he did in Vietnam as well as what he did after the war. It was eye opening about what Vietnam Veterans went through during and after the war.

It was interesting to read this novel, especially being from Louisiana myself, growing up in Metairie and seeing some spots mentioned that I knew. The story is an honest look into the life of Peter P. Mahoney and his journey through the military, before, during, and after. I would recommend it, thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read the ARC, and to Atmosphere Press as well for the chance to get to read this.

No, Mr. Mahony, you were not once a hero. You still are. It's just that most people today don't recognize a hero when they see one.
