Beautiful versus telling a love story. Mixes nature beautiful while describing love for another. I enjoyed this.
Publishing date: 16.08.2024
Thank you to Netgalley and BookBuzz.net for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
The book as a meal: Strawberries covered in chocolate, as sweet as the subject of the book
The book left me: Feeling warm and fuzzy
Negatives:
Some of the poems read like an obsession (somewhat understandable)
Positives:
Very sweet and touching
Relatable
Features:
Learning how to love again and mending a broken/scarred heart, a mix of two-liners and longer poems (2-4 pages),
Why did I choose this one?
I have been with my partner for 5 years now, so I am not going through a breakup and the relationship is not new. Even so, I wanted to read this and see how it made me feel as this isn't my first relationship. I was whiplashed back into the first few months of dating my current partner and got all those sweet memories bubbling back up.
Pick-up-able? Put-down-able?
Pick-up-able. I usually devour these poem collections, but this time I felt like slowly eating them up instead. Very readable, short and sweet.
What was the vibe and mood?
I am healing. I love my partner. I know my partner loves me too. I want to give them the world and anything they want. They deserve everything. They are my everything.
Final ranking and star rating?
3 stars, C tier. I liked this collection. It was very sweet, and a lot of the poems were relatable. However ... It felt a little obsessive at times. I can understand obsessing over your partner and the relationship. I have been there myself. But I also wished the book included more of a look into the individual person growing due to the relationship. Seeing them independently of each other, but still together.
It might also be due to the fact that I have been with my partner for so long, and our hurts from previous lovers have healed in that time. So this is ultimately not for me anymore. I will be recommending it to others, especially those in a "fresh" relationship.

Thank you, NetGalley for an advanced ARC of this poetry book
I found the poems in this book to be beautiful in their meaning and wording, giving a purer way to look at love and I definitely will buy this when it comes out
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me an E-ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was a beautiful collection of poetry. I have never read a poetry collection focussed on just love but it was a refreshing read. There is a mix of short-longer poems in this which means that the collection has a nice pace. The poems are also written beautifully and are quite uplifting. I would recommend this!
