Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read this manga. The manga is about a criminal and an heiress who buys him, and they fall in love. The art style is dynamic and appealing. However, I found the story too fast paced, meaning that the romance commenced far too quickly in the volume and it was difficult to empathise or engage with either of the main characters because of the fast pacing.

The Snow and Ink is an absolutely captivating read that left me spellbound from beginning to end. The author masterfully creates a rich, immersive world where magic and adventure leap off the page, and the depth of detail in the world-building is truly remarkable.

The protagonist, is a beautifully complex character whose journey of self-discovery and courage resonates deeply. Her growth throughout the story is both believable and inspiring, making her a heroine you can’t help but root for. The supporting characters are just as well-crafted, each bringing their own unique charm and depth to the narrative.

The plot is filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had figured out what would happen next, the author skillfully surprised me. The themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the fight between good and evil are woven seamlessly into the narrative, adding layers of meaning that will leave readers pondering long after they turn the last page.

Overall, is a must-read for fantasy lovers. I can’t wait for the next installment!

Thank you to Kondansha and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this volume.

This is the weirdest pacing I have experienced in manga. It’s incredibly rushed and the relationship between the FMC and MMC falls flat. Their instant love is not believable in the slightest.

It’s well drawn but that’s the only thing I enjoyed about it. This was a real struggle to finish.

I haven't read somrthing like this in a while and i really enjoyed it.
The characters had the much-needed depth in them and the story is really interesting.
The art is really good. The relationship between them is sweet. The way they defend each other is wholesome.
I look forward to the 2nd volume.

Thank you, NetGalley for an advanced ARC of this manga

4.5 stars

Loved this story and I found it quite sweet, to be honest, and seeing 2 people who were lost within themselves one a criminal and one a rich girl who was disowned finding comfort and acceptance within one another more than the world could give them. The connection becomes strong to where they feel for one another and it's the journey of NENO (The Criminal) trying to deal with his past and create a future and the rich girl growing within the hardship of what's happening around them.

Highly enjoyed and I look forward to reading volume 2

I have to admit that I liked the story, but on the other hand it was too rushed. The love story between the both of them developped fast, and I think it would have been better if we had spent the entire volume getting to know them and explaining more about their love story. It felt like we were given snippets of it instead of something more cohesive.

Very cute, but ultimately the story was a little too disjointed for my liking. I would definitely continue on with the series if the opportunity ever came up.

2.75 Stars!

I can see that this manga has lots of potential, the beginning reminded me of so many books that I have read a long time ago and loved. The tropes that were included in Snow & Ink are good as well. It was the pacing and how quick everything was happening in the first volume that made me a bit uneasy.

All in all, I definitely see myself continuing this manga.

This unfortunately struggles from the plot moving too quickly, causing it to feel jumpy. The relationship between our two main characters developed way too quickly before we got a sense of who they were individually. The concept of he is a murderer and is dangerous disappeared way too quickly as well. Overall, interesting story, but wish it had been more developed.

I genuinely liked our main characters. Freya is naive but genuinely kind, and Neneo is brash but wears his reputation like armor. And Halvard is interesting, but more than that remains to be seen.

I didn’t really get the romance aspect of this? Other than I guess that Freya and Neneo trust each other despite their reputations? Or maybe it’s just easier to buy into the plot if they’re romantically entangled.

I’m definitely intrigued about what will happen in the next volume, but I’m not sure where I fall on whether or not to invest in collecting the series…

disowned rich girl buys serial killer to save him from execution? i have to be honest i never thought of this plot nor heard of a book or manga with this plot but it was surprisingly fun! i enjoyed reading this book ! i am not usually that into manga but this was a fun start. I really liked the development of the characters and the relationship between them. Even though i felt like the relationship moved very quickly for them, it made a lot of sense after learning more about their backstories. The art style is so so pretty and nice to look at as well.
I am not sure if i will read the next volumes of this since the plot was a bit confusing to follow. But nonetheless a great read and really enjoyed it!

The premise of this manga is absolutely wild to me. Freya is a bit crazy to even consider this man but oh well, we are here and this is the story.

Dynamically Freya and Neneo are... interesting. Let's just say that the main couple has greater problems as people than falling in love with each other, which they did pretty much on sight (not a fan of that). I am shook that Neneo got this far with everything he's got going on.

The pacing was a struggle. This one chapter could easily have been stretched out to an entire series. IMO more plot always works in a story, but not when things go unexplained in order to fast forward to other plot.

On a more positive note, I loved the art style! Beautifully drawn.

A murderer sentenced to die, and the disgraced heiress who purchased him from his fate find solace in each other where they couldn't in anyone else.

The art style is very nice, and employs a great balance of comedic and action moments that work really well with the overall very serious tone.

The story had a lot of promise, but the pacing moves so quickly that instead it just feels like highlights of a relationship instead of a true story. There's not enough time to appreciate what either Freya or Neneo have gone through before we jump right into them being in a relationship.

It would have been really nice if the events of the first chapter had spanned the entire first volume, so that there would be space for us to see them grow into themselves as people who have newly experienced tragedy, and each other as people who only have each other.

Neneo is easy to feel for the moment he's given the space to show us who he is, while Freya spends a lot of time being very...blank. She really only shows emotion when Neneo's attention is on her, while he's expressive at all times whether she's there or not.

I really wanted to like this, but ultimately there wasn't enough there to make me care for these characters, and the pace was so fast that the seriousness of their situation never really hits home. An intriguing premise that ultimately fell flat.
