‘The best revenge is violence,’...’But that’s illegal, so the second-best revenge is living well.’
Three women, Lilah, Opal and Marina, have nothing in common. That is, until they realise they are all being lied to and manipulated by the same man. He may have different names and different job titles, but there seems to be one thing he wants, and he knows just who to target to get it.
Lilah has won the lottery, Opal is a fitness influencer and Marina is a single parent who has just inherited a very large and very expensive house. Money is the common factor between the three, but that isn’t what brings these women together. It’s the liar who is trying to swindle millions out of them.
As the women join forces, they begin to realise that there really is power in numbers and that sometimes all you need, is a friend that understands you. The ‘found family’ aspect of this book was both heartwarming and hilarious as they bond over their mutual hate of a man, and ultimately, his death.
The story has so many layers, as Lilah’s father is murdered in an unprovoked attack, Opal’s previous pyramid scheme business hits the headlines for all the wrong reasons and Marina inherits her grandmother's house on the basis that she is divorced by the time of Nana Sylvia’s death.
Nana Sylvia, although not present during the story is by far one of my favourite characters. She leaves everything to Marina in her will, which only applies as she is currently divorced to her children’s father. As the book unfolds, it seems that good old Sylvia had a lot more ‘skeletons in her closet’ than one may think.
The concept of womanhood, friendship and loneliness are strong topics that are addressed in the best way as the women come together for all the wrong reasons and find family amongst themselves in a bid to seek revenge.
I loved this book and I highly recommend it if you want to laugh and cry simultaneously as it had me feelings all the feels!
Thank you NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for the ARC in return for an honest review!

I enjoyed this authors debit and this is equally as strong. It's a comedic tale of three women who bite back. It's a light and easy read with an engaging style and good flow. Great diversion and more fun than crime really.should be!

This is my second book by this author, yet again another great read.
To start with we are introduced to the three main characters and then gradually get to understand how they and why they get together.
Murder and hilarity don't often go together but it certainly works here.
Will there be a follow up?
Loved every bit of this book please keep them coming Julie Mae Cohen.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

I haven’t read any books by this author but I will go and look for them now!
This book initially tells the story from the time leading up to “that Thursday” from different characters perspective.
It took me a minute to work it out but once I got my head around it I was ok… my goodness did the first chapter make me giggle (it possibly shouldn’t) I’m never looking at plasters the same way again! This has stuck with me!
I loved the character development and enjoyed the story. I felt it was well written and flowed nicely for the genre. I found it an easy and enjoyable read.
